Under semi-geostrophic approximation the nonlinear ordinary differential equations are obtained for the motion in the barotropic and baroclinic atmospheres with the effects of zonal shear basic flow and topographic forcing included.Two constraints are acquired of finite-amplitude periodic and solitary waves in the original model with the aid of the phase-plane geometric qualitative theory of a dynamic system defined by the differential equation.The explicit solution of the nonlinear waves is found by means of the approximation method and some significant results are achieved.  相似文献

本文应用半地转的概念分析和求解了正压和斜压的大气运动。指出:(1)在水平无辐散或准地转条件下求单波解无法表现非线性作用的困难,可以应用半地转的假定来解决。为了避开上述困难,不得已仅保留部分非线性项,但为了准确表征大尺度运动,最好应用半地转假定,保留全部非线性项。(2)准地转的假定可以滤去快速波动,半地转的假定同样也可以滤去快速波动,而且半地转条件下的Rossby波具有充分的非线性特征。所以,它为讨论非线性问题提供了一个途径。  相似文献

In this paper,the semi-geostrophic approximation (or the geostrophic momentum approximation)isused for analyzing and solving the barotropic and baroclinic atmospheric motions.It is shown that thehorizontal nondivergent or quasi-geostrophic approximations cannot reflect the nonliner effect.However,the semi-geostrophic approximation not only filter out the inertia-gravity waves as the quasi-geostrophicapproximation,but also find the solution to the nonlinear equations.The Rossby waves obtained by thesemi-geostrophic approximation possess the nonlinear characteristics.Therefore the semi-geostrophic approx-imation provides a way to discuss the nonlinear problem.  相似文献

本文在半地转概念下,讨论了线性和非线性地形罗斯贝波的稳定性及其解。指出:线性和非线性稳定性判据形式一致。在线性时,地形东西向及南北向坡度对稳定波动的周期和传播速度有明显影响,其解为周期函数;在不稳定时,解为非周期函数。二级近似时其解为孤立波形式——不稳定时,在地形不同位置可形成东移或西移的孤立波槽或孤立波脊;而在稳定时只形成孤立波槽。三级近似时解出现间断点。  相似文献

本文从半地转近似下的正压大气运动方程组出发,导出了非线性正压Rossby波所精确满足的KdV方程,求得了椭圆余弦波解和孤立波解,并讨论了非线性波动的波速公式及其振幅与其它波参数间的关系。同时指出,在对大气模式进行数学简化时必须尽可能保证原模式所具有的一些守恒关系,否则有可能使原问题的解受到歪曲。  相似文献

在半地转近似下,用相角函数方法得到了包含纬向基流及其切变的非线性常微分方程。利用常微分方程解的拓扑性质的定性理论,直接得到该方程存在有限振幅的周期波解与孤立波解即非线性正压Rossby波解存在的条件,由此分析了纬向切变基流对波解存在的影响。最后利用函数逼近法求得了非线性正压Rossby波解的显式表达式。结果表明,纬向切变基流对波的影响不仅表现在波的存在方面,而且还表现在波的形态方面,反映了波的非线性特点和基流对波动的作用。  相似文献

在前文采用半地转近似和行波法来研究层结大气中的非线性波动的基础上,进一步探讨非线性方程及其级数近似方程的解的稳定性,波动解的存在条件和波动的一些特征。研究指出,在平衡点附近,将非线性方程用其级数近似方程代替是可行的、合理的。在初始拟能满足一定的条件下,椭圆余弦波和孤立波是存在的。文中还求得了椭圆余弦波解的周期、x向波长和振幅以及孤立波的宽度和振幅。并指出,孤立波的宽度和振幅不但与波速有关,还与β因子和层结稳定度有关,而且在相同的某条件下,西行的混合Rossby-重力孤立波比起东行的惯性重力孤立波来,宽度要小但振幅却大。  相似文献

Summary  Nonlinear waves in a stratified atmosphere with basic uniform flow are studied by adopting geostrophic momentum approximation (cf. Hoskins, 1975) and the method of travelling wave solution. A nonlinear equation containing a unique variable of vertical p velocity is derived from a complete system of equations considering frictionless and adiabatic fluid. The stability of the solution for the nonlinear equation is discussed then. Furthermore, the approximate cnoidal wave solution, solitary wave solution and their existence condition are obtained. In this paper,by using the simplified hydrodynamic equations of barotropic nondivergent atmosphere incylindrial coordinates,the nondispersion cnoidal wave solution of spiral planetary waves is discovered.The formulas of wave speed and the diagnostic relationships between wave parameters are obtained,mostof which are consistent with observed facts.It might mean that the nondispersion cnoidal wave does existin the real atmosphere.At least it might be a first approximation to the actual nonlinear wave.  相似文献

Tidal processes are examined that control the water exchange between two basins of the Trondheimsfjord through a narrow channel with sills. For this purpose, a non-hydrostatic numerical model based on the laterally averaged Reynolds equations in the Boussinesq approximation was developed. The model takes into account the real vertical fluid stratification, variable bottom topography and variable cross-section of the fjord. Numerical experiments were performed to investigate tidally generated internal waves and their influence on the water exchange.The model produces both baroclinic tides and tidally generated lee waves. It was found that, for the Skarnsund strait which connects the Middle Fjord and the Beitstadfjord, the internal tides generated over the Skarnsund sills are very weak. Their amplitudes do not exceed 1 m.The intense short internal waves, which are identified as unsteady lee waves, comprise the basic input of the total internal wave field. These waves are generated by tidal currents at sill breaks, are trapped by topography in the generation area and grow by continuing feedback into large-amplitude waves. As the tidal flow slackens, they move upstream as freely propagating waves.As essentially nonlinear responses, the lee waves cause a nonlinear water transport. The detailed analysis of the residual currents produced by unsteady lee waves (which are propagating in both directions from the Scarnsund sills) has shown, in particular, that the residual currents can reach values as high as 0.27 m s−1.It was also found that such currents exert a considerable effect on the water exchange through the Skarnsund strait between the adjacent basins. This mechanism can play an important role in water renewal and formation of the Beitasdfjord waters.  相似文献

In this paper, we using phase plane method have derived the stability criteria of linear and nonlinear Rossby waves under the conditions of semi-geostrophic approximation and have gotten the solutions and geostrophic vorticity of corresponding solitary Rossby waves. In this paper we investigate the instability of two-layer quasi-geostrophic model with scalar nonlinearity, which is a geophysical fluid dynamics model, and give a nonlinear stability criterion. Furthermore, the analytical solutions of the two-layer quasi-geostrophic model are obtained via the Jacobi elliptic periodic function transform method and symbolic computation. It is efficient in solving a range classes of nonlinear partial differential equations for this method. The result shows that the structure of Rossby waves is influenced by many factors such as base flow and scalar nonlinearity.  相似文献
