Synoptic geopotential height anomalies patterns favouring African dust outbreaks into the marine boundary layer (MBL) of the subtropical Eastern North Atlantic Region (SENAR) were objectively identified. The proportion of the total variance explained by each of these patterns was also calculated. Dust intrusions into the MBL of the SENAR were identified using total suspended particles (TSP) data at a rural background station in Tenerife Island (El Rio station, ER). Geopotential height anomalies at 1,000, 850, 700 and 500?hPa, respectively, in days of African dust intrusion in the period 1998?C2003 were grouped in monthly sets. Two different but complementary methods (K-means and Principal Components) were applied to daily geopotential height anomalies for each month and for each pressure level in case of African dust intrusion. Three principal geopotential height anomalies patterns were found. Type I consist on a high-pressure system over Europe that affects North Africa, occasionally giving rise to a ridge. The Canary Islands are in the south-west flank of this high-pressure system. This pattern is dominant throughout the whole year. Type II and type III patterns consist on a low located to the northeast and southeast of the Canary Islands, respectively, coupled with a high over the Mediterranean basin and/or North Africa. Two case analyses are presented, as well as a systematic validation of the meteorological pattern classification for all dust intrusions detected at ER station within the period 2004?C2007.  相似文献

利用气溶胶指数(Aerosol Index,AI)资料研究了东亚地区紫外吸收性气溶胶的时空分布特征,主要得出以下结论:1)雨云七号卫星(Nimbus 7,N7)和地球探测卫星(Earth Probe,EP)搭载的臭氧总量测绘光谱仪(Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer,TOMS)以及臭氧监测仪(Ozone Monitoring Instrument,OMI)反演的AI数据在东亚大陆具有较好的一致性,但EP/TOMS-OMI AI的连续性较好,而N7/TOMS-EP/TOMS AI的连续性较差;2)东亚地区紫外吸收性气溶胶主要位于塔克拉玛干沙漠及其东部周边的库姆塔格、柴达木盆地沙漠、古尔班通古特沙漠、内蒙古中西部、蒙古国南部以及我国东北、华北地区;3)紫外吸收性气溶胶具有明显的月际变化特征;4)旋转正交经验函数分析不仅能分离紫外吸收性气溶胶的源区范围,还能给出源强相对大小的定性信息。  相似文献

本文利用中国气象科学数据共享服务网提供的中国地面降水日值0.1°×0.1°格点数据集(V2.0)、FY-2E逐小时红外黑体辐射亮温(Temperature of Black Body,以下简称TBB)资料和欧洲中心ERA-Interim0.5°×0.5°,6小时一次温度、风场、位势高度、相对湿度等资料对2012年7月21~22日一次四川暴雨进行了初步分析。结果表明,西南低涡活动为此次四川盆地强降水过程提供了有利的发生条件。在此基础之上,副热带高压引导的暖湿空气与西伯利亚南下的冷空气相汇于四川盆地,风切变的生成,大量不稳定能量在四川盆地东部累积,和盆地上空形成的上升气流,为此次降水过程提供了有利的天气条件。随着西南低涡的东移减弱,四川盆地此次降水过程也随之结束。  相似文献

Summary By using the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data, the Northern Hemisphere annular mode index (NAMI), China dust storm frequency data and China’s 160-station monthly precipitation data, the relationship between the previous winter (December–February) Northern Hemisphere annular mode (NAM) and the following spring (March–May) Asian atmospheric circulation is examined statistically in this study. Results demonstrate that the relationship between the spring Asian atmospheric circulation and the previous winter NAM is more significant on decadal time scales than on interannual time scales. There are significant negative correlations between the previous winter NAM and the spring temperature in what is almost a troposphere over Northwest China. There is a significant positive correlation between the winter NAMI and following spring geopotential height field over the Mongolian Plateau and Middle Siberia (MPMS) at the upper level. The positive correlation coefficients center moves to the south with the level from high to low. At lower level the high correlation coefficients center is located over the North China. There is a significant negative correlation between the winter NAMI and the surface horizontal wind intensity in the following spring for Northwest China on decadal timescales. The results suggest that a strong NAM in winter is followed by a negative temperature anomaly and a positive anomaly of the spring 500 hPa geopotential height over the MPMS, while at the same time the spring anomaly of the southeast wind is experienced in the surface layer in Northwest China, implying that the intensity of the northwest wind tends to weaken, and vice versa. This circulation pattern can affect the change of the spring dust storm frequency in Northwest China on decadal time scales.  相似文献

利用2006—2019年南疆地区55个国家站的逐日观测和自动站小时数据资料,研究沙尘发生的精细化特征及沙尘暴起沙风速指标阈值。结果表明:南疆沙尘中心位于塔里木盆地中部至其南缘的民丰和且末一线,表现为中部多,东部西部少的分布特点,浮尘和沙尘暴的中心在民丰,而扬沙中心在塔中站;沙尘天气季节差异明显,秋、冬季沙尘最少,以浮尘为主,春、夏季是沙尘天气的高发季节,浮尘日与扬沙日数接近,约为沙尘暴的2倍,沙尘暴、扬沙的季节差异比浮尘天气更为明显;沙尘日变化呈白天多于夜间,下午多于上午的分布特点,18—20时是南疆地区出现沙尘暴、扬沙天气的高频时段;扬沙和沙尘暴的平均持续时间短,一般不超过3 h,巴州东南部平均持续时间最长;南疆不同地区沙尘天气发生的最小风速差异较大,存在区域性规律,而极大风速分布呈东部大于西部,北部大于南部,塔里木盆地中部和南部最小,春季的极大风速平均值大于夏季,差值较小的地区在和田地区,春季的极大风速离散度也较夏季大,各站极大风速的最小值范围在1.6—9.8 m·s-1之间。  相似文献

研究了利用TOMS资料定量遥感沙尘暴的方法,并利用该方法遥感了1998年4月15日发生在中蒙边境地区的一次沙尘暴过程,得到了沙尘暴的发生、发展、强度以及影响范围等特征.结果表明,该方法基本上可以排除云的影响,能够定量遥感沙尘暴的动态发展过程,是一个较好的沙尘暴遥感方法.  相似文献

基于1954—2014年乌江流域站点的逐月径流与NCEP/NCAR的逐月位势高度、风矢量资料、比湿及垂直速度资料,采用相关分析、回归分析、合成分析等方法,研究了冬半年南支槽与汛期乌江流域径流的关系,并探讨了其对乌江流域径流影响的可能机制。结果表明,冬半年各月南支槽强度指数(Southern Branch Trough Index,SBTI)与5月乌江流域径流有着稳定且显著的负相关关系,且基于冬半年月份SBTI构建的线性回归模型可以很好地预测5月径流;因此,冬半年南支槽指数可以作为乌江流域5月径流的预报因子。合成分析表明,南支槽强年,青藏高原南侧西风带波动强烈,且槽前风场差值呈气旋性异常,伴随着乌江流域的南风矢量,为槽前暖湿气流向乌江流域的输送提供了水平动力;副热带高压强度的减弱可能使得来自西太平洋的水汽流向乌江流域,强化了水汽向乌江的输送;南支槽强年乌江流域低层到高层水汽含量显著增加,垂直上升运动可持续到300 h Pa,加强了乌江流域的水汽辐合和对流运动,有利于该流域降水的产生,进而使得径流量显著增加。  相似文献

利用1979~2012年青藏高原125个基本、基准站观测日最高及最低气温数据、Hadley中心月平均海冰覆盖率资料、ERA-Interim的风场、高度场等再分析资料,根据相关统计分析、合成分析等方法系统地分析了青藏高原地区秋、冬季冷昼和冷夜日数(低温日数)与关键影响海区海冰的关系及影响机理。结果表明,夏、秋季关键海区海冰偏少时,秋、冬季极地和青藏高原地区500 h Pa位势高度减小,中高纬西伯利亚地区位势高度增强,北极至青藏高原有明显由北向南波动通量,高压反气旋系统在西伯利亚地区形成与壮大,青藏高原以北风场呈现明显偏北风,Rossby波在青藏高原及其以北地区呈现由北向南波动形式,青藏高原以北的西风带地区Rossby波东传减缓,导致经向活动加强,北部冷空气易于通过气流向高原侵袭,秋、冬季青藏高原低温日数将偏多。  相似文献

In recent decades, the number of dust events has increased significantly in the west and southwest of Iran. In this research, a survey on the dust events during the period 1990–2013 is carried out using historical dust data collected from seven synoptic stations scattered across the west and southwest of Iran. Using statistical analysis of the observational data, two of the most severe dust storm events that occurred in the region on July 4–7, 2009 and June 17–20, 2012 were selected and analyzed synoptically. NCEP/NCAR reanalysis dataset was used to obtain the required fields including sea level pressure, surface wind field, geopotential height at 500 hPa, and wind and vertical motion at the 850 hPa level. Moreover, weather research and forecasting model coupled with chemistry (WRF-Chem) with two aerosol schemes, GOCART and MADE/SORGAM, were used to simulate the amount of particulate matter (PM10) and its transportation over the studied region. The initial and lateral boundary conditions of the model simulations are provided by Global Forecast System (GFS) data with the horizontal resolution of 0.5°. The calculations demonstrated that the MADE/SORGAM scheme predicted the values and trends of PM10 better than GOCART. Dust plums are formed over Iraq and Syria and then transported to the west and southwest of Iran. Comparing the MODIS satellite images for July 4, 2009 and June 18, 2012 with the corresponding model output showed the good performance of WRF-Chem in simulating the spatial distribution of dust.  相似文献

The aerosol index (AI) of the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) satellite data (1979 2001) was analyzed to reveal the climatological long-distance path of dust transport from Asia to North America. The AI in the west coast of the United States is highly correlated with that in the Gobi desert. Additionally, from the TOMS satellite images, it can be seen that very strong plumes advect from Asia to the west coast of North America in typical dust storm cases. When applying the sourcereceptor relationship to detect the northern dust transport path between the Gobi source region and the west coast of the United States receptor region, it is evident that the dust plume can be transported northward beyond 60°N from its source region and that it takes 5 to 6 days to reach the west coast of the United States. The cross correlation technique shown in this work is a useful tool that can be applied in other regions to give useful insights into relationships between major dust sources and downwind receptor locations by using remotely sensed dust observations.  相似文献

基于1961-2020年夏季(6-8月)NCAR/NCEP再分析资料和塔里木河流域(简称“塔河”)38个气象站降水资料,使用5年滑动平均分离出塔河夏季降水年代际和年际变化,选出了典型的年际变化的干年和湿年与年代际变化的干期(1963-1986年)和湿期(1989-2018年),分析了与这两种时间尺度变化相关联的大气环流异常。结果表明,两者的变化不同,影响两者变化的大气环流不同。影响年代际变化的大气环流异常主要表现在欧亚大陆对流层从西北至东南交替出现正负位势高度异常中心,在湿期塔河东部和西部分别出现明显的东风和西南风异常,水汽主要由西北太平洋和印度洋输送至塔河,在干期则与之相反;影响年际变化的大气环流异常主要表现为在塔河东部和西部对流层分别为反气旋异常和气旋异常,在多雨年从南北方向向塔河输送的水汽增多,北风水汽通量异常向流域输送较多,南风水汽通量异常向流域输送较小且主要集中在流域西部,水汽主要由北冰洋洋和印度洋输送至塔河。在干年则与之相反。  相似文献

The annual distribution and variations in dust weather occurrence (DWO) have been analyzed using monthly DWO data from 26 stations over the Tarim Basin during the period of 1961 to 2010. The results show that the DWO presents a significant decreasing trend for different parts of the Tarim Basin in recent decades. The monthly DWO has two peaks in the east and west. In the first half of the year, the peak is in April, but in the second half of the year, the peak is in September. According to the concentration period and concentration degree (CD) of DWO, we can find that the maximum DWO occurs in April in the eastern, western, and northern parts of the basin, but it occurs in May in the southern part. The dust weather season is shorter for the northern and eastern parts of the basin than those of the remaining parts. On average, the dust weather season initiates in April in the northeast and in May for the rest of the region. As an indicator for the length of dust weather season, the CD is significantly related to DWO, with a correlation coefficient of ?0.51, revealing an interesting feature of regional climate change with declining DWO and declining dust weather season over the Tarim Basin. The correlation analysis exhibits that all the Arctic Oscillation, Antarctic Oscillation, and North Atlantic Oscillation have a negative relation with the DWO but a positive relation with the length of dust weather season.  相似文献

为了解塔里木盆地不同地域大气降尘及TSP的污染特征和季节变化规律,在塔里木盆地布设了铁干里克、塔中、民丰、喀什4个采样站点,于2007-2010年期间利用集尘缸和大流量采样器分别对上述4个地区的大气降尘及TSP进行连续采样。通过对样品和数据的分析处理,揭示了塔里木盆地不同地域大气降尘及TSP基本特征及影响因素:(1)2007-2010年塔中大气降尘量和TSP浓度均为4个站点中最高,其次为民丰和喀什,铁干里克最少。区域气候差异是造成塔里木盆地降尘和TSP浓度空间分布差异的主要原因。(2)5-8月是塔中地区沙尘天气高发时节,7月沙尘暴天气处于峰值。3-8月是民丰、喀什和铁干里克大气降尘主要分布月份。春夏季节的塔里木盆地降尘污染明显高于秋冬季节。(3)每年3-9月都是4个站点TSP主要分布阶段,最高值出现月份略有差异。塔里木盆地周边TSP浓度季节变化大体一致,春夏季大于秋冬季,不同的地区季节分布略有差异。(4)春夏季沙尘天气是造成大气降尘和TSP质量浓度较高的主要因素。  相似文献

通过对2001年春季中国北方5次沙尘暴的高度场,涡度场,散度场和风场的分析,研究了沙尘暴强盛期的环流动力结构。结果表明,在5次沙尘暴强盛期有相似的环流动力结构特征。在沙尘暴强盛期的高度场上,蒙古国有深厚的低值系统,乌拉尔高压发展,其间的强气压梯度是沙尘暴的动力源;低值系统有正涡度中心支持,外围是负涡度区,其间有强涡度梯度带;低值中心伴随有低层辐合高层辐散的垂直结构,易于发生近地面大风和上升气流,有利于地面起沙上扬,形成沙尘暴,大风区与强涡度梯度带一致,强风带切变形成的涡度输送有利于加强低值系统,进而增强风场。  相似文献

利用1979~2002年ERA-40、ERA interim、JRA-25和NCEP-DOE AMIP-Ⅱ(简称为NCEP-2)再分析资料,采用扩展经验正交分解(EEOF)、相关分析等方法,对比分析了不同资料所揭示的东亚夏季风异常活动的多模态特征,在此基础上探讨了东亚夏季风异常活动各模态对应的大气环流异常分布型及其与中国夏季降水的可能联系。结果表明:(1)四套再分析资料所揭示的东亚夏季风异常活动均存在三种差异显著的空间模态,且各套资料对东亚夏季风异常活动空间多模态特征具有很好的一致性,仅NCEP-2的结果与其他资料略有差异。(2)第一模态体现了夏季风年际异常在中国南方和北方的反相变化,并具有显著的3~6年和准8年周期;与正(负)时间系数相对应,850 hPa风场、500 hPa高度场、SLP均显示东亚沿岸存在从西北太平洋经过日本以南到达鄂霍次克海的“-+-”(“+-+”)经向三极型结构;相应的降水变化在长江中下游为显著的负(正)异常,而在我国东北东部、东南沿海及云南西部则为正(负)异常。(3)第二模态反映了夏季风活动主导模态的一致性变化且在1993年左右发生年代际转折,并呈现准12年周期的强弱交替分布。当对应的时间系数为正(负)时,850 hPa风场在环贝加尔湖地区受强大的异常反气旋(气旋)控制;500 hPa高度场上,中高纬地区表现为异常的纬向波列结构,具体表现为起源于欧洲大陆西部经西西伯利亚平原向东南方向延伸至东北亚地区的“+-+”(“-+-”)的波列;SLP在我国大陆主要为正(负)异常,东亚夏季风整体减弱(加强);对应的夏季降水异常场呈现“南涝北旱”(“南旱北涝”)的分布形势。(4)第三模态表明了夏季风异常活动的东西反相变化,且有12~16年的准周期变化。对应正(负)的时间系数,115°E 以东地区盛行异常偏南(北)风,而115°E 以西地区主要盛行异常偏北(南)风;500 hPa高度场、SLP均显示出东亚沿岸地区、鄂霍次克海至日本以南洋面的“-+”(“+-”)波列以及欧亚大陆北部的准纬向遥相关波列;夏季降水在我国大部分地区偏多(偏少),显著变化主要位于黄淮及附近地区。  相似文献

Summary The variability of the horizontal circulation in the stratosphere and troposphere of the Northern Hemisphere (NH) is compared by using various approaches. Spatial degrees of freedom (dof) on different time scales were derived. Modes of variability were computed in geopotential height fields at the tropospheric and stratospheric pressure levels by applying multivariate statistical approaches. Features of the spatial and temporal variability of the winterly zonal wind were studied with the help of recurrence and persistence analyses. The geopotential height and zonally-averaged zonal wind at the 50-, 500- and 1000-hPa level are used to investigate the behavior of the horizontal circulation in the lower stratosphere, mid-troposphere and at the near surface level, respectively. It is illustrated that the features of the variability of the horizontal circulation are very similar in the mid-troposphere and at the near surface level. Due to the filtering of tropospheric disturbances by the stratospheric and upper tropospheric zonal mean flow, the variability of the stratospheric circulation exhibits less spatial complexity than the circulation at tropospheric pressure levels. There exist enormous differences in the number of degrees of freedom (or free variability modes) between both atmospheric layers. Results of the analyses clearly show that the concept of a zonally symmetric AO with a simple structure in the troposphere similar to the one in the stratosphere is not valid. It is concluded that the spatially filtered climate change signal can be detected earlier in the stratosphere than in the mid-troposphere or at the near surface level. 利用中国160站气温资料、北极涛动指数资料及关国NCEP/NCAR再分析资料中月平均海平面气压场、高度场、风场资料,分析了东北地区冬季气温、冬季北极涛动的年代际特征及其关系。结果表明:在年代际时间尺度上,两者之间存在显著正相关。冬季北极涛动处于低(高)指数期,东北冬季气温为持续冷冬(暖冬)期。可能影响机制是:在地面,冬季北极涛动处于低(高)指数期时,西伯利亚高压增强(减弱),亚洲大陆偏北冬季风增强(减弱),东北为持续冷冬(暖冬)期;在对流层中层,冬季北极涛动处于低(高)指数期时,东亚大槽加深(减弱),贝加尔湖以西以北脊增强(减弱),环流呈经向(纬向)型发展,东北对流层中层偏北风增强(减弱),东北为持续冷冬(暖冬)期。  相似文献

研究了非洲地区大气气溶胶光学厚度(AOD)的时空变化及沙尘气溶胶越大西洋海区的传输。结果表明:1)源于撒哈拉沙漠的沙尘及其随赤道东风向西输送使得沙尘气溶胶成为非洲沙漠地区和紧邻的大西洋海区的主要气溶胶组分;AOD高值区和沙尘气溶胶光学厚度高值区在1—7月随赤道辐合带北移同步向北移动,而在8—12月则向南回撤。2)刚果盆地大气气溶胶主要为热带雨林和稀树草原排放的有机碳(OC)和黑碳(BC)气溶胶;其中与生物质燃烧源排放有关的OC、BC高值主要集中在干季(6—9月)的后半段(8—9月);而生物源OC排放全年连续,其排放峰值出现于雨季开始时;生物质燃烧排放高值期与生物源排放高值期前后相继,形成干季(尤其是后半段)时期的OC、BC光学厚度高值。3)亚马逊河入海口地区主要气溶胶组分为海盐气溶胶,9—11月该区风力输送增强,风向由东南风转变为东风,海盐进入亚马逊河入海口处,形成AOD和海盐气溶胶光学厚度高值区。4)撒哈拉沙漠沙尘气溶胶向大西洋传输的偏北月份为7—9月、偏南月份为1—3月;2000—2016年海区沙尘气溶胶的传输路径存在向南移动的变化趋势,与同期亚速尔高压的增强和沙尘传输路径以北北风分量的增强以及赤道辐合带的移动一致。上述研究结果揭示了利用大气气溶胶时空变化特征反映区域大气环流和气候变化的可能性。  相似文献

利用ERA—interim及NCEP—DOE两种再分析资料,分析了冬季北极涛动(Arctic Oscillation,AO)与我国江南地区地表气温相关的时空结构。结果表明:1)2月30hPa的Ao指数与江南地区地表气温的同期相关系数最高,这与AO指数和江南地区地表气温的标准差均在2月极大有关。2)30hPa的正AO事件加强时,贝加尔湖地区对流层易出现显著的正位势高度异常,有利于东亚地区出现向南、向下的异常风场,与之对应,西伯利亚高压向南扩展,有利于北方冷空气南侵至我国江南地区,造成局地气温负距平;反之亦然。  相似文献
