西南极利文斯顿岛汉那角火山岩地质及火山活动

本文以野外地质资料为基础，并结合岩相学特征，论述了西南极南设得兰群岛利文斯顿岛汉那角（ＨａｎｎａｈＰｏｉｎｔ）火山岩地层及岩石的基本特征，初步讨论了该地火山活动过程。该地互层状产出的火山角砾岩和熔岩，为南极半岛火山岩组的一部分。剖面上出露的三个火山岩地层旋回分别是三期火山作用的产物。第一、二旋回岩层产状的变化记录了火山作用过程中的一次活动间歇。第一旋回的英安岩和含有流纹岩质熔岩夹层的凝灰角砾岩仅为第一期火山活动末的产物；第二旋回为三次较强喷发活动的产物，从安山岩质火山碎屑岩为主，经玄武岩－安山岩质熔岩为主，过渡为含有安山岩或流纹岩质熔浆团的火山角砾岩。第三期火山活动可能更强烈，大面积分布的厚层玄武质熔岩无论从产状上还是在岩石学特征方面都有别于其他旋回。火山岩地层总体产状稳定，平缓地倾向北西，表明该区未受到过明显的构造影响，火山活动中心可能有逐步向北西迁移的趋势，与南设得兰群岛岩浆弧演变趋势一致。次火山岩主要为玄武岩质小岩墙，集中在第二旋回底部。第一、二旋回接触界线两侧凝灰角砾岩表现较强的沸石化。这些现象说明该接触面附近为一薄弱带，侵入活动和蚀变均较易发生。     

南极乔治王岛晚白垩世地幔源火山岩Nd、Sr同位素和微量元素证据

对乔治王岛上白垩统半三角组火山岩样品进行了 Rb- Sr同位素等时线年龄测定 ,所获结果为 71 .3 3± 0 .3 Ma。通过 εND(T) - 14 7Sm/14 4Nd,14 3 Nd/14 4Nd- 87Sr/86 Sr,87Sr/86 Sr- Sr和 87Sr/86 Sr- K2 O/(K2 O+Na2 O)的相关性研究表明 ,该火山岩物质主要来自亏损地幔 (DMM)源区 ,基本上未受到地壳物质混染。其中 6个样品的平均 Sm- Nd模式年龄 (TNd DM)为 443 .3± 2 0 .6 Ma,可能反映了在研究地区的岩浆源区化学分异事件的时代。微量元素的特点表明 ,半三角组样品属典型的钙碱性火山岩系列 ,与长城站地区第三系火山岩相类似 ,同属于岛弧火山活动的产物。     

西南极乔治王岛北海岩火山岩的^40Ar／39Ar和K—Ar年龄测定

本文采用＾４０Ａｒ／＾３９Ａｒ、Ｋ－Ａｒ和激光微区等时线方法，对乔治王岛北海岩的火山岩进行了系统的年龄测定。实验结果表明，该区的火山活动从晚白垩世延续到始新世末期，主要喷发时代为始新世。岩石的年龄由南西向北东依次变新，表明乔治王岛的火山活动中心在不断迁移，与整个南设得兰群岛火山岩的时、空分布规律相符。     

西南极利文斯顿岛火山岩地质

本文综合近年研究中新获得的资料和证据，对利文斯顿岛火山岩的地质特征和火山作用特点作了综合性的介绍。百耳斯建造是该岛最老的火山岩地层，由晚侏罗世至早白垩世生成的玄武岩、玄武安山岩质熔岩和火山碎屑岩、集块岩以及泥岩、页岩等组成，分布在岛西部的百耳斯半岛。中白垩世的鲍勒斯山组主要出露在岛的中部，是由安山岩质熔岩和火山碎屑岩夹层组成的一套蚀变火山岩系。汉那角剖面的火山碎屑岩和熔岩及史莱夫角的橄榄玄武岩均具有中白垩世的年龄。晚白垩世火山活动的产物以粗玄岩为代表，集中出露在西多斯角一带。伴随着火山活动，始新世英云闪长岩侵入白垩系火山岩地层。更新世至现代则有依诺特角组橄榄玄武岩在岛的东北部产出。上述火山活动随时间演进而自北西向南东不断迁移的特点，与整个南设得兰群岛火山作用的发展趋势相符。岩石化学和地球化学资料表明，百耳斯半岛熔岩、史莱夫角的橄榄玄武岩和西多斯角的粗玄岩等白垩纪火山岩基本属于钙碱性岩系并且具有低钾低镁的特点。早第三纪的英云闪长岩继承了橄榄玄武岩和粗玄岩的成分特点，同是南设得兰群岛岩浆弧中生代－新生代火山作用的产物，在钙碱性岩系岩浆演化的晚期生成。而鲍勒斯山组的熔岩和汉那角的熔岩表现出岩相学和岩石化学性质上的     

西南极利文斯顿岛含砾泥岩层的发现及其地质意义

西南极南设得兰群岛利文斯顿岛赫德半岛中分布的一套主要由复理石相岩石组成的低级变质沉积岩（迈尔斯陡崖组）被认为是中－ 新生代火山岩的基底（晚古生代－ 早中生代？）。以前含砾泥岩在迈尔斯陡崖组局部地点曾有零星报道,但详细的地质填图确认此地有四层含砾泥岩分布。研究表明,这些含砾泥岩可能是水下碎屑流沉积,其生成环境可能是海底扇中扇的水道。对比在南极半岛所发现有大量的含砾泥岩,则进一步表明利文斯顿岛早期地质特征可与南极半岛相比,两者在中－ 新生代岩浆弧形成之前处于相同的构造环境。     

前言

南设得兰群岛(South Shetland Islands)位于南极半岛(Antarctic Peninsula)之外的西北海域中,隔布朗斯菲尔德海峡(Bransfiekd Strait)与半岛相望。南设得兰群岛主要组成岛屿(自南西向北东)包括:低岛(Low Island)、史密斯岛(Smith Island)、雪岛(Snow Island)、欺骗岛(Deception Island)、列文斯顿岛(Livingston Isl0and)、格林威治(Green wich Island)、罗伯特岛(Robert Island)、纳尔逊(Nelson Island)和乔治王岛(King George Island)。乔治王岛是南设得兰群岛中最大的岛屿,中国南极长城站就建在该岛南端的菲尔德斯半岛(Fildes Peninsula)上(图1)。

本文采用４０Ａｒ／３９Ａｒ、Ｋ－Ａｒ和激光微区等时线方法，对乔治王岛北海岸的火山岩进行了系统的年龄测定。实验结果表明，该区的火山活动从晚白垩世延续到始新世末期，主要喷发时代为始新世。岩石的年龄由南西向北东依次变新，表明乔治王岛的火山活动中心在不断迁移，与整个南设得兰群岛火山岩的时、空分布规律相符。侵入岩比火山岩生成晚而岩石化学成分更偏酸性，说明侵入岩可能是火山岩同源岩浆分异演化的产物。这批高质量数据的获得，将为区域火山岩地层时代的厘定和构造岩浆演化过程的研究提供有力的依据。     

西南极利文斯顿岛中部中生代－新生代火山岩岩石化学研究

出露在利文斯顿岛中部的白垩纪火山岩为玄武岩－玄武安山岩－安山岩－英安岩组合，基本属于钙碱性系列，但具有低钾拉斑玄武岩的某些特点。岩石富集Ｒｂ、Ｔｈ、Ｂａ，轻度亏损Ｚｒ、Ｔｉ、Ｈｆ、Ｎｂ，较强亏损Ｃｒ和Ｎｉ，而且随着岩浆从基性向酸性成分的演化，富集（或亏损）程度加大。岩石的轻稀土元素中度富集，岩石的（Ｃｅ／Ｙｂ）ＣＮ比值较低。白垩纪火山岩形成在一个造山环境，是南设得兰岩浆弧的一部分。然而，在利文斯顿岛不同地区出露的岩石其化学性质有所区别，因此认为它们可能源于不同的岩浆体系。在晚古生代至早中生代，利文斯顿岛中部处于一个独特的浊积扇的构造环境。主要产在利文斯顿岛中部和汉那角的鲍勒斯山组火山岩与其它地点的中生代火山岩相比，无论岩相学特征还是岩石化学性质均有所不同。因此认为它们的产生同时受到太平洋板块的俯冲作用和该地构造位置所控制。史莱夫角的橄榄玄武岩成分中碱高硅低，并且通常表现出高铝的特点，这些性质与百耳斯半岛的玄武岩极为相似。区域上火山活动不断发展，活动中心逐渐向北东迁移，导致粗玄岩岩颈和岩席生成，最后是英云闪长岩的侵入。更新世至现代的依诺特角组橄榄玄武岩以化学成分中的低硅高碱含量区别于中生代火山岩。岩石的高Ｍ值     

南设得兰群岛利文斯顿岛鲍勒斯山组火山岩的~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar年龄及地质意义

采用４０Ａｒ／３９Ａｒ法和激光微区等时线方法，对南极南设得兰群岛利文斯顿岛东部产出的鲍勒斯山组火山岩重新进行了年龄测定。结果表明，４５Ｄ安山质熔岩和２６２玄武安山质熔岩的等时年龄分别为（１０５．６２±２．１１）Ｍａ和（１１１．４８±２．２３）Ｍａ，其４０Ａｒ／３９Ａｒ初始比与尼尔值相当，岩石中不含过剩氩，表明等时年龄代表岩石真正的形成年龄。脉状产出的Ａ９３５２细晶岩的４０Ａｒ／３９Ａｒ坪年龄为（９６．７±１．６）Ｍａ，计算得到等时年龄为９６．６Ｍａ，晚于熔岩喷发而形成。新的年龄数据证实了鲍勒斯山组火山岩形成于白垩纪。白垩纪火山活动曾影响了整个利文斯顿岛，在赫德半岛出露的鲍勒斯山组火山岩曾被较年轻火山岩所覆盖，构造抬升使其出露。     

西南极利文斯顿岛火山岩多种成因过程的地球化学证据

利文斯顿岛火山岩是南极南设得兰岩浆弧的一部分。对岩石的Ｓｒ，Ｎｄ，Ｐｂ同位素组成以及＾８７Ｓｒ／＾８６Ｓｒ与１／Ｓｒ，Ｒｂ，Ｋ和ＳｉＯ２关系的研究表明，利文斯顿岛火山岩具有不同的源区特征。百耳斯半岛和史莱夫角的火山岩，西多斯角的粗玄岩和第三纪的岩云闪长岩显示出同成因的特点、和依诺特角第四纪橄榄玄武岩一样，它们均具有原生地幔的同位素组分，源区岩浆可能直接来自上地幔。

Deserts and Aeolian Desertification in China: Book review and some thoughts

Desertification is a global phenomenon that affects about two billion people. It occurs in arid zones where the annual precipitation is below 400 mm, partic- ularly in the marginal areas of the world＇s largest deserts. It is a result of water and wind erosion, over- grazing, global warm-ing, improper soil cultivation, and increased pressure ot population growth, and it causes degradation of soil and natural and agricultural vegetation. The direct result is less food for people and livestock, which influences pop- ulation and animal husbandry fluctuations. Despite ef- forts to combat and reduce desertification, the affected areas are annually increasing.
