In development of baroclinic disturbances, baroclinity of basic temperature field varies with conversion of available potential energy. The growth rate which depends on the baroclinity varies as well. However, in previous linear theories, the growth rate was considered constant, so development of disturbances was not constrained by energy sources in the linear theories. In terms of energy conservation and conversion in an isolated atmosphere, we may study the variations in the baroclinity and growth rate and draw the corresponding pictures of perturbation developments in the varying environments. The amplification for the most unstable Eady wave is discussed as an example. It will be found that growth of baroclinic perturbations constrained by energy conservation is significantly different from the growth at the initial constant rate after mature stage.  相似文献

本文用分层两层模式研究了在一般非纬向基本气流情况下的斜压不稳定。通过比较分析,给出了基本气流对斜压不稳定的影响,结果表明,在非纬向基本气流情况下,更有利于出现斜压不稳定。 将非纬向基本气流的斜压不稳定理论用于高纬度地区的大气运动,说明了高纬度地区常见的小扰动强烈发展,是切变基本气流所驱动的一种“涡旋波”的斜压不稳定。  相似文献

本文是“斜压气流的中尺度稳定性”的第二部份,讨论基本流对横波型中尺度扰动的稳定性。 将f-平面的Eady模型推广到非地转情况,得到斜压基流的双模态不稳定谱:在天气尺度和次天气尺度上出现Eady模态,在几十至几百公里的惯性尺度上出现非地转斜压中尺度模态。在垂直剖面上中尺度模态呈非对称“猫眼”流型,在水平方向上散度与涡度交替分布。对同一线性风速廓线,中尺度模态的发展率约为Eady模态的4倍,两种扰动发展的主要能源都是旋转基流中储存的斜压有效位能。  相似文献

The barotropic and baroclinic disturbances axisymmetrized by the barotropic basic vortex are examined in an idealized modeling framework consisting of two layers. Using a Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approach, the radial propagation of a baroclinic disturbance is shown to be slower than a barotropic disturbance, resulting in a slower linear axisymmetrization for baroclinic disturbances. The slower-propagating baroclinic waves also cause more baroclinic asymmetric kinetic energy to be transferred directly to the barotropic symmetric vortex than from barotropic disturbances, resulting in a faster axisymmetrization process in the nonlinear baroclinic wave case than in the nonlinear barotropic wave case.  相似文献

采用两个不同的东亚夏季风指数分析了1951~1999年间东亚夏季风强度的年代际变化特征。结果一致表明,20世纪70年代中期左右,东亚夏季风经历了由强到弱的年代际变化。而且西太平洋副热带高压作为东亚季风系统的重要成员,其强度和位置也在1970年代中期左右发生了明显的年代际变化。这种大气环流背景的年代际变化造成了1970年代中期以后我国的华北地区干旱少雨;长江中下游地区洪涝多雨。  相似文献

本文应用一个CISK机制的扰动模式,从理论上分析了环境温度梯度场对台风等对流性扰动发展和移动的影响。结果表明,环境温度梯度对台风等扰动的发展可产生明显的影响,而且该影响与环境温度梯度的方向及该梯度场和台风间的相对位置有很大关系,另外,环境温度梯度可使扰动出现一相当强的趋暖运动。本文的结果可为冷空气对台风发展和移动的影响提供一些动力方面的解释,对于实际的台风预报,有一定的参考价值,对于了解斜压环境中的对流系统的发展机制和参数化,本文的结果也有一定意义。  相似文献

采用一个准地转三层模式,对于高低空不同层结及不同风速铅直廓线下的斜压不稳定性问题进行了分析和讨论。指出:(1)大气层结特征对斜压不稳定的影响不仅表现在对不稳定临界波长和临界风速切变的制约上,而且其铅直分布的不均一性决定了大气的各个层次对斜压不稳定的贡献大小;扰动的斜压发展主要取决于静力稳定度较小的那些层次内的热力、动力学条件,在这些层次内,扰动也最为明显。(2)高低空风速比中空为大的“高低空强风型”风速铅直分布最有利于扰动的不稳定发展,在这种风速铅直廓线下,不稳定波波谱较宽,不稳定波临界波长和最不稳定波波长也较短。  相似文献

This is the first part of "Mesoscale Instability of a Baroclinic Basic Flow",which deals with the stability of a baroclinic flow against mesoscale perturbations parallel to it and the possibility for occurrence of a bandwise mesoscale disturbance along with its effects on triggering and organizing deep convections in a stratified atmosphere of weak static stability.The atmospheric perturbation equations with anelastic assumption are formed in the way that they are suitable to be solved by generalized matrix method and by shooting method.The mesoscaIe instability spectra and the structures of the characteristic perturbations are calculated for linear,hypertangent profiles and realistic wind profile sounded before a squall line event.By energy analysis the effects of baroclinity of the basic flow on generating such kind of ageostrophic inertial convection are also discussed.  相似文献

本文利用中国自动站与CMORPH(Climate Prediction Center Morphing technique for the production of global precipitation estimates)融合的逐时降水量0.1°网格数据集资料挑选出一次典型的梅雨锋暴雨个例,运用WRF中小尺度模式进行模拟,对模拟得到的高分辨率结果进行Barnes滤波,最后将滤波结果代入动能和位能方程中,目的是定量地分析各个尺度能量的变化以及它们之间的相互作用对暴雨强度的影响。研究发现:模式模拟的降水过程和强度与实况较为吻合,推导的能量方程适用于这次暴雨过程。三种尺度能量之间的相互作用包含了各种跨尺度能量的相互作用。在整个暴雨过程中,跨尺度之间的斜压能量转换包括位能向动能的能量转换和动能向位能的能量转换。同尺度之间的斜压能量转换总是单向的,且量值较大,动能的强度主要靠位能向动能的能量转换来维持。斜压能量转换的多少影响着暴雨的强弱。大尺度斜压能量转换在中高层比较强,中尺度斜压能量转换在低层较强,尤以β中小尺度系统变化最为显著,β中小尺度系统扰动是影响暴雨强度的关键系统。风切变的大小影响各尺度动能之间的能量转换。温度或位温梯度的大小影响各尺度位能之间的能量转换。位能与动能之间的能量转换主要与各尺度垂直速度和温度的垂直分布有关,暖空气上升冷空气下沉是各个尺度位能向动能转换的主要过程。  相似文献

Summary Based upon linearized perturbation analysis, the initiating mechanisms for African wave disturbances were investigated. The analysis indicates that in summer over the deserts of tropical North Africa dynamic instability possessing the prominent characteristics of the wave disturbances can occur in the lower troposphere under the unique thermal conditions maintained by solar heating.The non-linear aspects of the instability and the dynamics of a developing African wave disturbance were examined using real-data forecast experiments. The prediction model was a three dimensional primitive equation model. The numerical results reveal the controlling role of the thermal structure in determining the horizontal scale of motion in West Africa. The dynamic responses to the thermal structure result in a configuration favorable for the baroclinic development of the model wave system. Findings from the modeling are in good agreement with the linear model's assessment of many basic features of the disturbances.This study also underlines the significance of radiation-dynamics interaction in the short-range limited-area numerical weather prediction. In summer, over the arid land of the southwestern United States under strong solar heating short-wave disturbances, which may share the similar origin as African waves, are often observed in the lower troposphere. Encounterring potentially unstable air mass the disturbances can trigger heavy rainfall. The indicator is that the inclusion of adequate radiation processes in regional modeling may be essential for improving the prediction of some heavy precipitation events.With 8 Figures  相似文献

This is the second part of "Mesoscale Instability of a Baroclinic Basic Flow" which discusses the instability of a basic flow against mesoscale perturbations of transversal type.A bi-mode instability spectrum is obtained by generalizing the Eady model to ageostrophic regime in an f-plane:Eady modes present at the synoptic and subsynoptic scales,while the ageostrophic baroclinic mesoscale modes present at the inertial scales of a few tens to hundreds kilometers.The mesoscale mode is featured by an asymmetric "eat eyes" pattern in the vertical cross section and by an alternative distribution of divergence and vorticity in the horizontal direction.The growth rates of the mesoscale modes are about four times larger than those of Eady modes in magnitudes for the same wind profile.The major energy source for development both Eady mode and mesoscale mode is the baroclinic available energy stored in the rotational basic flow.  相似文献

Abstract

A parameter study is presented of the linear steady response to an elevated diabatic forcing in a Boussinesq baroclinic atmosphere. The model is two‐dimensional on the vertical plane; the basic wind is perpendicular to this plane with horizontal and vertical shear. The intensity of the circulation is sensitive to the strength of the baroclinic zone only for weak static stability. A scale analysis supports this conclusion: the importance of baroclinic effects depends on the ratio of the aspect ratio of the circulation to the aspect ratio of the baroclinic basic state. Baroclinicity also leads to a tilt of the circulation due to enhanced horizontal temperature advection, and the corresponding vertical flux of horizontal momentum. The magnitude of the latter can be large when the Richardson number approaches its critical value from above, i.e. for slightly symmetrically stable basic flows; this is true even with viscosity. The resonant limit where the Richardson number approaches the critical value for symmetric instability is also examined. For non‐zero dissipation, the critical value is smaller than that of the inviscid limit.  相似文献

本文所用的动力学模型是在给定切变基本流情况下,加进积云加热效应。结果表明斜压不稳定扰动的临界波长,因积云加热作用而明显变短,当积云加热达每天3.5度时,扰动发展的尺度和中层气旋的尺度是吻合的。在本文的后一部份,考察了积云对流的摩擦作用,结果也得出扰动的不稳定性,但一般而言,积云摩擦对扰动是起阻尼作用的,当摩擦造成的次级环流产生不稳定的加热效应时,摩擦可促进不稳定发展。   相似文献

通过数值实验对初始扰动不稳定发展建立异常环流型的过程进行了分析。选择了东亚夏季风异常的1991年和1985年两个典型年份的平均环流作为基流,以共轭敏感性分析得到的最敏感扰动作为初始扰动,分析其在不同的环流背景下的发展情况。结果说明,1991年欧亚地区的基流不稳定性较强,且初始扰动结构有利扰动发展,因而通过能量频散在乌拉尔地区激发扰动并强烈发展,建立起阻塞形势。而1985年的扰动在乌拉尔地区形成正涡度距平,不利于阻高的建立。从而导致1991年和1985年夏季乌拉尔地区几乎相反的异常环流。一系列对比实验说明,异常环流型的建立,不仅依靠能量的频散,更依靠扰动通过正压不稳定过程从基流吸收能量而发展。它既有赖于基流自身的不稳定,又取决于初始扰动的结构以及相对于基流的位置。基流选择了具有特定结构的初始扰动型,只要在有利位置上给予扰动,就能够激发出扰动波列,建立强的持续异常环流型。不论初始波列的位相在一定范围内如何改变,扰动总是倾向于在基流的特定不稳定区域发展。  相似文献

斜压不稳定理论是中高纬度地区天气尺度扰动生成和发展的机制,是继长波理论之后大气动力学上的又一重大进展,对现代天气预报具有重要的指导意义。按照斜压不稳定理论发展的时间脉络,阐述了赵九章、查尼和伊迪在斜压不稳定方面开展的研究工作,分析了3位科学家各自的研究特点及历史贡献。赵九章1946年发表在《Journal of Meteorology》上的论文,最早提出了"斜压不稳定"这一概念,给出了不稳定的临界波长,并阐述了在不稳定扰动情况下能量的转换,以及不稳定波对大气环流带来的可能影响,尽管得出的不稳定临界波长与观测差别较大,但其对波-流相互作用的讨论在当时是超前的。查尼于1947年采用滤波和尺度分析等方法,将大气扰动方程简化为一个可以求解的系统,推导出大气稳定状态的判据,建立了斜压不稳定理论,其结果与实况比较接近;并据此把准地转模式成功应用于数值天气预报实践中,促使数值天气预报获得首次成功。1949年,伊迪在查尼研究工作的基础上通过合理的简化方法,得到了更为简洁的模型。最后,通过对比他们的研究思路,重点分析了赵九章未能使得斜压不稳定理论提前一年建立的原因:由于其研究思路始终局限在大气水平运动上,忽略了斜压系统发展中散度项的贡献,因而未能抓住天气系统发生、发展的本质,致使其最终与斜压不稳定理论的成功建立失之交臂,其论文本身存在的一些亮点也因此被后人忽视。   相似文献
