The known intervals of possible stability, on the mgr-axis, of basicfamilies of 3D periodic orbits in the restricted three-body problem areextended into -A1 regions for oblate larger primary, A 1 beingthe oblateness coefficient. Eight regions, corresponding to the basicstable bifurcation orbits l1v, l1v, l2v, l3v, m1v, m1v,m2v, i1v are determined and related branching 3D periodic orbits arecomputed systematically and tested for stability. The regions for l1v,m1v and m2v survive the test emerging as the regions allowing thesimplest types of stable low inclination 3D motion. For l1v, l2v,l3v, m1v and m2v oblateness seems to have a stabilising effect,while stability of i1v survives only for a very small range of A 1values.  相似文献

A periodic orbit of the restricted circular three-body problem, selected arbitrarily, is used to generate a family of periodic motions in the general three-body problem in a rotating frame of reference, by varying the massm 3 of the third body. This family is continued numerically up to a maximum value of the mass of the originally small body, which corresponds to a mass ratiom 1:m 2:m 3?5:5:3. From that point on the family continues for decreasing massesm 3 until this mass becomes again equal to zero. It turns out that this final orbit of the family is a periodic orbit of the elliptic restricted three body problem. These results indicate clearly that families of periodic motions of the three-body problem exist for fixed values of the three masses, since this continuation can be applied to all members of a family of periodic orbits of the restricted three-body problem. It is also indicated that the periodic orbits of the circular restricted problem can be linked with the periodic orbits of the elliptic three-body problem through periodic orbits of the general three-body problem.  相似文献

The intervals of possible stability, on the -axis, of the basic families of three-dimensional periodie motions of the restricted three-body problem (determined in an earlier paper) are extended into regions of the -m 3 parameter space of the general three-body problem. Sample three-dimensional periodic motions corresponding to these regions are computed and tested for stability. Six regions, corresponding to the vertical-critical orbitsl1v, m1v,m2v, andilv, survive this preliminary stability test-therefore, emerging as the mass parameters regions allowing the simplest types of stable low inclination three-dimensional motion of three massive bodies.  相似文献

The restricted (equilateral) four-body problem consists of three bodies of masses m 1, m 2 and m 3 (called primaries) lying in a Lagrangian configuration of the three-body problem i.e., they remain fixed at the apices of an equilateral triangle in a rotating coordinate system. A massless fourth body moves under the Newtonian gravitation law due to the three primaries; as in the restricted three-body problem (R3BP), the fourth mass does not affect the motion of the three primaries. In this paper we explore symmetric periodic orbits of the restricted four-body problem (R4BP) for the case of two equal masses where they satisfy approximately the Routh’s critical value. We will classify them in nine families of periodic orbits. We offer an exhaustive study of each family and the stability of each of them.  相似文献

We consider bifurcation of 3D periodic orbits from the plane ofmotion of the primaries in the photogravitational restricted three-bodyproblem. The simplest periodic 3D orbits branch from the plane periodicorbits of indifferent vertical stability. We compute the first few suchorbits of the basic families l, m, i, h, a, b, c forvarying mass parameter and for varying radiation coefficient of thelarger primary. The horizontal stability of the orbits is also computedleading to predictions about possible stability of the 3D orbits.  相似文献

We study numerically the restricted five-body problem when some or all the primary bodies are sources of radiation. The allowed regions of motion as determined by the zero-velocity surface and corresponding equipotential curves, as well as the positions of the equilibrium points are given. We found that the number of the collinear equilibrium points of the problem depends on the mass parameter β and the radiation factors q i , i=0,…,3. The stability of the equilibrium points are also studied. Critical masses associated with the number of the equilibrium points and their stability are given. The network of the families of simple symmetric periodic orbits, vertical critical periodic solutions and the corresponding bifurcation three-dimensional families when the mass parameter β and the radiation factors q i vary are illustrated. Series, with respect to the mass (and to the radiation) parameter, of critical periodic orbits are calculated.  相似文献

In this paper, we determine series of horizontally critical symmetric periodic orbits of the six basic families, f,g,h,i,l,m, of the photogravitational restricted three-body problem, and computetheir vertical stability. We restrict our study in the case where only the first primary is radiating, namely q 1≠1 andq 2=1. We also compare our results with those of Hénon and Guyot (1970) so as to study the effect of radiation to this kind of orbits. We consider the bifurcation of 3D periodic orbits from the plane of motion of the primaries in the restricted three-body problem with oblateness. The simplest 3D periodic orbits branch-off at the plane periodic orbits of indifferent vertical stability. We describe briefly suitable numerical techniques and apply them to produce the first few such vertical-critical orbits of the basic families of periodic orbits of the problem, for varying mass parameter and fixed oblateness coefficent A1 = 0.005, as well as for varying A1 and fixed = 1/2. The horizontal stability of these orbits is also determined leading to predictions about the stability of the branching 3D orbits.  相似文献

Applying the method of analytical continuation of periodic orbits, we study quasi-satellite motion in the framework of the three-body problem. In the simplest, yet not trivial model, namely the planar circular restricted problem, it is known that quasi-satellite motion is associated with a family of periodic solutions, called family f, which consists of 1:1 resonant retrograde orbits. In our study, we determine the critical orbits of family f that are continued both in the elliptic and in the spatial models and compute the corresponding families that are generated and consist the backbone of the quasi-satellite regime in the restricted model. Then, we show the continuation of these families in the general three-body problem, we verify and explain previous computations and show the existence of a new family of spatial orbits. The linear stability of periodic orbits is also studied. Stable periodic orbits unravel regimes of regular motion in phase space where 1:1 resonant angles librate. Such regimes, which exist even for high eccentricities and inclinations, may consist dynamical regions where long-lived asteroids or co-orbital exoplanets can be found.  相似文献

We study numerically the asymptotic homoclinic and heteroclinic orbits around the hyperbolic Lyapunov periodic orbits which emanate from Euler's critical points L 1 and L 2, in the photogravitational restricted plane circular three-body problem. The invariant stable-unstable manifolds associated to these Lyapunov orbits, are also presented. Poincaré surface of sections of these manifolds on appropriate planes and several homoclinic and heteroclinic orbits for the gravitational case as well as for varying radiation factor q 1, are displayed. Homoclinic-homoclinic and homoclinic-heteroclinic-homoclinic chains which link the interior with the exterior Hill's regions, are illustrated. We adopt the Sun-Jupiter system and assume that only the larger primary radiates. It is found that for small deviations of its value from the gravitational case (q 1 = 1), the radiation pressure exerts a significant impact on the Hill's regions and on these asymptotic orbits.  相似文献

The existence and stability of triangular libration points in the relativistic restricted three-body problem has been studied. It is found that L4,5 are unstable in the whole range 0 ≤ μ ≤ 1/2 in contrast to the classical restricted three-body problem where they are stable for 0 < μ < μ0, where μ is the mass parameter and μ0 = 0.03852.... Four 3 : 1 resonant families of periodic orbits of the planar elliptic restricted three-body problem, in the Sun-Jupiter-asteroid system, have been computed. These families bifurcate from known families of the circular problem, which are also presented. Two of them, I c , II c bifurcate from the unstable region of the family of periodic orbits of the first kind (circular orbits of the asteroid) and are unstable and the other two, I e , II e , from the stable resonant 3 : 1 family of periodic orbits of the second kind (elliptic orbits of the asteroid). One of them is stable and the other is unstable. All the families of periodic orbits of the circular and the elliptic problem are compared with the corresponding fixed points of the averaged model used by several authors. The coincidence is good for the fixed points of the circular averaged model and the two families of the fixed points of the elliptic model corresponding to the families I c , II c , but is poor for the families I e , II e . A simple correction term to the averaged Hamiltonian of the elliptic model is proposed in this latter case, which makes the coincidence good. This, in fact, is equivalent to the construction of a new dynamical system, very close to the original one, which is simple and whose phase space has all the basic features of the elliptic restricted three-body problem.  相似文献

We study the existence, linear stability and bifurcations of what we call the Sitnikov family of straight line periodic orbits in the case of the restricted four-body problem, where the three equal mass primary bodies are rotating on a circle and the fourth (small body) is moving in the direction vertical to the center mass of the other three. In contrast to the restricted three-body Sitnikov problem, where the Sitnikov family has infinitely many stability intervals (hence infinitely many Sitnikov critical orbits), as the “family parameter” ż0 varies within a finite interval (while z 0 tends to infinity), in the four-body problem this family has only one stability interval and only twelve 3-dimensional (3D) families of symmetric periodic orbits exist which bifurcate from twelve corresponding critical Sitnikov periodic orbits. We also calculate the evolution of the characteristic curves of these 3D branch-families and determine their stability. More importantly, we study the phase space dynamics in the vicinity of these orbits in two ways: First, we use the SALI index to investigate the extent of bounded motion of the small particle off the z-axis along its interval of stable Sitnikov orbits, and secondly, through suitably chosen Poincaré maps, we chart the motion near one of the 3D families of plane-symmetric periodic orbits. Our study reveals in both cases a fascinating structure of ordered motion surrounded by “sticky” and chaotic orbits as well as orbits which rapidly escape to infinity.  相似文献

The effect of the eccentricity of a planet’s orbit on the stability of the orbits of its satellites is studied. The model used is the elliptic Hill case of the planar restricted three-body problem. The linear stability of all the known families of periodic orbits of the problem is computed. No stable orbits are found, the majority of them possessing one or two pairs of real eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix, while a part of a family with complex instability is found. Two families of periodic orbits, bifurcating from the Lagrangian points L1, L2 of the corresponding circular case are found analytically. These orbits are very unstable and the determination of their stability coefficients is not accurate, so we compute the largest Liapunov exponent in their vicinity. In all cases these exponents are positive, indicating the existence of chaotic motions  相似文献

We explore the periodic orbits and the regions of quasi-periodic motion around both the primaries in the Saturn-Titan system in the framework of planar circular restricted three-body problem. The location, nature and size of periodic and quasi-periodic orbits are studied using the numerical technique of Poincare surface of sections. The maximum amplitude of oscillations about the periodic orbits is determined and is used as a parameter to measure the degree of stability in the phase space for such orbits. It is found that the orbits around Saturn remain around it and their stability increases with the increase in the value of Jacobi constant C. The orbits around Titan move towards it with the increase in C. At C=3.1, the pericenter and apocenter are 358.2 and 358.5 km, respectively. No periodic or quasi-periodic orbits could be found by the present method around the collinear Lagrangian point L 1 (0.9569373834…).  相似文献

New families of three-dimensional double-symmetric periodic orbits are determined numerically in the Sun-Jupiter case of the restricted three-body problem. These families bifurcate from the vertical-critical orbits ( v = –1,c v ),c v=0) of the basic plane familiesi,g 1,g 2,h,a,m andl. Further the numerical procedure employed in the determination of these families has been described and interesting results have been pointed out. Also, computer plots of the orbits of these families have been shown in conical projections.  相似文献

We consider the planar restricted three-body problem and the collinear equilibrium point L 3, as an example of a center × saddle equilibrium point in a Hamiltonian with two degrees of freedom. We explore numerically the existence of symmetric and non-symmetric homoclinic orbits to L 3, when varying the mass parameter μ. Concerning the symmetric homoclinic orbits (SHO), we study the multi-round, m-round, SHO for m ≥ 2. More precisely, given a transversal value of μ for which there is a 1-round SHO, say μ 1, we show that for any m ≥ 2, there are countable sets of values of μ, tending to μ 1, corresponding to m-round SHO. Some comments on related analytical results are also made.  相似文献

The existence of new equilibrium points is established in the restricted three-body problem with equal prolate primaries. These are located on the Z-axis above and below the inner Eulerian equilibrium point L 1 and give rise to a new type of straight-line periodic oscillations, different from the well known Sitnikov motions. Using the stability properties of these oscillations, bifurcation points are found at which new types of families of 3D periodic orbits branch out of the Z-axis consisting of orbits located entirely above or below the orbital plane of the primaries. Several of the bifurcating families are continued numerically and typical member orbits are illustrated.  相似文献
