The most commonly used continuous-wave (CW) propagation models are presented and their areas of applicability indicated. Furthermore, it is shown how these numerical codes can be extended to provide pulse results by Fourier synthesis of CW solutions. The ability of the acoustic models to describe sound propagation accurately in complicated ocean environments is demonstrated through a sequence model/date comparisons involving both CW and pulse-propagation results. It is also shown that the full complexity of real ocean environments must be considered in the numerical models to accurately predict the propagation conditions for a broad range of source frequencies. In conclusion, it is noted that the biggest difficulty today in sonar performance prediction modelling is not associated with the modelling tools themselves, but rather with the lack of environmental information to be used as input to the models  相似文献

The hydrodynamic problem of 3D planing surface is studied by a finite element approach. The planing surface is represented by a number of pressure patches whose strengths are constant at each element. The unknown pressure strength is obtained by using the free surface elevation condition under the planing surface and Kutta condition at the transom stern. Previous studies indicate that, when the constant pressure distribution method is used, the number of buttocks should be less than five or six, otherwise the calculated pressure distribution will start to oscillate and even become divergent. In the present study, after careful examination of the influence coefficients, it is found that the accuracy of the influence coefficients matrix is very important to the convergence of the solution, especially when the number of elements is relatively high. The oscillation of the pressure distribution can be avoided by constant element method if the influence coefficients are sufficiently accurate. The predicted results of the present paper with more number of buttocks are in good agreement with other researchers'. It is concluded that the irregularity of the pressure distribution found in previous studies is most likely caused by the low accuracy in their calculation of the influence coefficients, not by the method itself.  相似文献

An improvement on the simulation of outgoing waves on a time dependent numerical model for water wave propagation in the nearshore region is presented. The governing equations consist of a system of first order partial differential equations (PDEs), the equation of continuity and the equation of motion. A comparative study of first order radiation boundary conditions (BCs) and first order radiation BCs combined with sponge layers is presented for cases where outgoing waves leave the numerical domain of calculation through the open boundary. A reduction of spurious reflections from the numerical open boundaries can be obtained with an irrelevant increase in terms of computational cost.  相似文献

We have obtained precise estimates of the position of Ocean Bottom Seismometers (OBS) on the sea bottom. Such estimates are usually uncertain due to their free falling deployment. This uncertainty is small enough, or is correctable, with OBS spacing of more than 10 km usually employed in crustal studies. But, for example, if the spacing is only 200 m for OBS reflection studies, estimates of the position with an accuracy of the order of 10 m or more is required.The determination was carried out with the slant range data, ship position data and a 1D acoustic velocity structure calculated from Conductivity–Temperature–Depth (CTD) data, if they are available. The slant range data were obtained by an acoustic transponder system designed for the sinker releasing of the OBS or travel time data of direct water wave arrivals by airgun shooting. The ship position data was obtained by a single GPS or DGPS. The method of calculation was similar to those used for earthquake hypocenter determination.The results indicate that the accuracy of determined OBS positions is enough for present OBS experiments, which becomes order of 1 m by using the DGPS and of less than 10 m by using the single GPS, if we measure the distance from several positions at the sea surface by using a transponder system which is not designed for the precise ranging. The geometry of calling positions is most important to determine the OBS position, even if we use the data with larger error, such as the direct water wave arrival data. The 1D acoustic velocity structure should be required for the correct depth of the OBS. Although it is rare that we use a CTD, even an empirical velocity structure works well.  相似文献

In light of the deteriorating state of coral reefs worldwide, the need to rehabilitate marine environments has greatly increased. Artificial reefs (ARs) have been suggested as a tool for reef conservation and rehabilitation. Although successions of AR communities have been thoroughly studied, current understanding of the interactions between artificial and natural reefs (NRs) is poor and a fundamental question still to be answered is that of whether AR communities can mimic adjacent NR communities. We suggest three alternative hypotheses: Neighboring ARs and NRs will (1) achieve a similar community structure given sufficient time; (2) be similar only if they possess similar structural features; (3) always differ, regardless of age or structural features. We examined these hypotheses by comparing the community structure on a 119-year old shipwreck to a neighboring NR. Fouling organisms, including stony and soft corals, sponges, tunicates, sea anemones and hydrozoans were recorded and measured along belt transects. The ahermatypic stony coral Tubastrea micrantha dominated vertical AR regions while the soft corals Nephthea sp. and Xenia sp. dominated both artificial and natural horizontal surfaces. Our results support the second hypothesis, indicating that even after a century an AR will mimic its adjacent NR communities only if it possesses structural features similar to those of the natural surroundings. However, if the two differ structurally, their communities will remain distinct.  相似文献

Habitat choice of reef fish larvae at settlement is one of the mechanisms proposed to explain spatial patterns in the distribution of fishes and the corresponding spatial structure of communities. Field experiments using Pomacentridae were conducted at Iriomote Island, southern Japan, in order to determine if rare recruitment of coral reef fishes in seagrass beds is due to larval settlement preference. When three types of natural patch treatments (branching coral patch, seagrass patch, and control without patches) were established in cleared seagrass squares in the center of a seagrass bed, four pomacentrid species, Amblyglyphidodon curacao, Dischistodus prosopotaenia, Cheiloprion labiatus, and Dascyllus aruanus, recruited exclusively onto the coral patches, indicating that larvae distributed in the seagrass bed may have preferred a coral rather than seagrass substrate as a settlement habitat. The effects of differences in physical shape (grid structure for branching coral vs. vertical structure for seagrass leaves) and rigidity (rigid substrate for coral vs. flexible substrate for seagrass) between coral and seagrass substrates on such recruitment patterns were investigated using artificial coral and seagrass units. When artificial habitat units with predator exclusion cages were established in the cleared seagrass squares as above, high densities of A. curacao and D. prosopotaenia recruits were observed on the rigid rather than flexible habitat units (both unit types having similar shape), whereas differences in recruit numbers of the two species were unclear in differently shaped units. These results demonstrated that even though pomacentrid larvae are distributed in the seagrass bed, they do not settle on the seagrass substrate owing to their habitat choice being partially based on a preference for substrate rigidity. Moreover, non-recruitment of C. labiatus and D. aruanus on artificial habitat units suggested that the presence of living coral substrates rather than physical shape/rigidity of substrates are an important cue for habitat choice of these fishes.  相似文献

海洋一号C/D(HY-1C/D)卫星中国海洋水色水温扫描仪(Chinese Ocean Color and Temperature Scanner,COCTS)主要用于探测海洋水色、水温等要素,这些要素需要经过卫星资料处理才能获取,而几何定位是预处理的核心,直接影响这些要素的质量。COCTS具有114°视场角和四元逐点摆扫的特征,据此研究出一套完整的几何定位方法。从0级数据中提取卫星星历,利用插值法从中获取采样时间对应的卫星位置和速度,进而得到轨道(ORB)坐标系到地心旋转(ECR)坐标系的转换矩阵。基于四元逐点摆扫的特征,中心视矢量分别绕X轴、Y轴旋转相应角度,获得扫描行各采样点ORB视矢量,建立视矢量与地球交叉点关系模型,从而对根据波段数据绘制的遥感图像进行地理定位。本文使用插值法替代了传统需要6个轨道根数来计算卫星位置的复杂方法,同时直接计算ORB到ECR的转换矩阵,而不采用传统的两步转换方法。经过多组数据计算及定性定量验证,HY-1C/D COCTS几何定位结果一致;采样像元尺度效应导致从星下点到两侧边缘、从赤道到两极,误差逐渐增大,约在两个像元内。该方法满足一定的定位精度要求,可以用于COCTS的几何定位。  相似文献

在简要介绍AUV声学定位声纳接收机原理基础上,分析了CW脉冲信号在极性相关检测电路中的传输过程,建立了极性相关积分检测延时仿真分析模型。提出采用蒙特卡洛模拟方法获取检测延时的分布特征和统计参数的观点。实验结果表明蒙特卡洛模拟实验与硬件电路实验结果一致,对于解决随机性检测延时问题具有很强的能力。获得的结果可为AUV定位声纳检测门限的设定、声学测距和定位精度分析以及水声通信延时分析提供参考。  相似文献

The paper discusses an inversion method that allows the rapid determination of in situ geoacoustic properties of the ocean bottom without resorting to large acoustic receiving apertures, synthetic or real. The method is based on broad-band waterborne measurements and modeling of the waveguide impulse response between a controlled source and a single hydrophone. Results from Yellow Shark '94 experiments in Mediterranean shallow waters using single elements of a vertical array are reviewed, inversion of the bottom parameters is performed with an objective function that includes the processing gain of a model-based matched filter (MBMF) receiver relative to the conventional matched filter. The MBMF reference signals incorporate waveguide Green's functions for known geometry and water column acoustic model and hypothesized bottom geoacoustic models. The experimental inversion results demonstrated that, even for complex environmental conditions, a single transmission of a broad-band (200-800 Hz) coded signal received at a single depth and a few hundred forward modeling runs were sufficient to correctly resolve the bottom features. These included the sound speed profile, attenuation, density, and thickness of the top clay sediment layer, and sound speed and attenuation of the silty clay bottom. Exhaustive parameter search proved unequivocally the low-ambiguity and high-resolution properties of the MBMF-derived objective. The single-hydrophone results compare well with those obtained under identical conditions from matched-field processing of multitone pressure fields sampled on the vertical array. Both of these results agree with expectations from geophysical ground truth. The MBMF has been applied successfully to a field of advanced drifting acoustic buoys on the Western Sicilian shelf, demonstrating the general applicability of the inversion method presented  相似文献

The black-footed abalone Haliotis iris is an economically important shellfish species in New Zealand. We successfully amplified, sequenced and analysed the complete nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) of H. iris. The length of the nrDNA was determined to be around 9.6?kb and included, in order, small subunit ribosomal RNA (nrSSU, 1858bp), internal transcribed spacer (ITS, 749?bp), large subunit ribosomal RNA (nrLSU, 3412bp) and an intergenic spacer (IGS, 3560–3662?bp). The nrLSU genes were identical in two individuals, whereas the nrSSU and ITS regions existed at three and four base differences, respectively. The IGS was more variable than the other nrDNA regions. A phylogenetic tree was constructed based on the ITS sequence datasets, which revealed that Haliotidae has two major subclades, mainly distributed in the North Pacific, Europe and Australia. The complete nrDNA sequence will be useful for the classification, phylogeny and breeding of this shellfish.  相似文献

通过渤海QD-3134孔位连续沉积岩芯所记录的5000aB.P.以来地磁场要素(主要是D和I及磁场相对强度)的系统测量分析结果表明,其时空变化特征与黄河中-下游区域考古地磁的测量分析结果相吻合。由变化特征显示出:I及地磁场相对强度的明显变化界线位于2500aB.P.左右,此界线与该区域孢粉及有孔虫分析显示出的组合明显变化界线相一致。D的明显变化界线位于2000aB.P.左右,此界线与竺可桢等统计分析的中国北方5000aB.P.以来的气候的明显变化界线相一致。这种变化的相关性进一步分析显示出,自龙山文化期以来,I由高值向低值变化及D由酉偏转向东偏,与气候温湿特征对应,I由低值向高值变化及D由东偏转向西偏,与温干气候特征相对应;I及D突变时期与灾害气候环境变化相对应。  相似文献

A growing number of studies on shallow marine gas/fluid systems from across the globe indicate their abundance throughout geological epochs. However, these episodic events have not been fully integrated into the fundamental concepts of continental margin development, which are thought to be dictated by three elements: tectonics, sedimentation and eustasy. The current study focuses on the passive sector of the Levant Basin on the eastern Mediterranean continental margin where these elements are well constrained, in order to isolate the contribution of gas/fluid systems. Single-channel, multichannel and 3D seismic reflection data are interpreted in terms of variance, chaos, envelope and sweetness attributes. Correlation with the Romi-1 borehole and sequence boundaries constrains interpretation of seismic stratigraphy. Results show a variety of fluid- or gas-related features such as seafloor and subsurface pockmarks, volumes of acoustic blanking, bright spots, conic pinnacle mounds, gas chimneys and high sweetness zones that represent possible secondary reservoirs. It is suggested that gas/fluid migrate upwards along lithological conduits such as falling-stage systems tracts and sequence boundaries during both highstands and lowstands. In all, 13 mid-late Pleistocene sequence boundaries are accompanied by independent evidence of 13 eustatic sea-level drops. Whether this connection is coincidental or not requires further research. These findings fill gaps between previously reported sporadic appearances throughout the Levant Basin and margin and throughout geological time from the Messinian until the present day, and create a unified framework for understanding the system as a whole. Repetitive appearance of these features suggests that their role in the morphodynamics of continental margins is more important than previously thought and thus may constitute one of the key elements of continental margin development.  相似文献

Sea level rise could bring about an event that has not previously been seen in modern history, that of the physical disappearance of some low-lying Island States. The objective of this paper is to examine what are the likely scenarios for some of these islands in the course of the next century, and analyse for each scenario if these Island States could continue to claim an Exclusive Economic Zone or not. Also, it will analyse the possibility that Island States could continue having some sort of status analogous to statehood even if it was to lose all territory. Finally, the idea of a “government-in-exile” will be discussed, where the State could retain its identity waiting for a future re-emergence of the island.  相似文献

本文基于2018年5月(春季)、8月(夏季)、11月(秋季)和2019年1月(冬季)季度航次调查,采用冗余分析(RDA)和Bray-Curtis相似性聚类分析方法,讨论了烟台四十里湾及其邻近海域网采浮游植物丰度、优势种组成、多样性指数、均匀度指数的分布特征以及浮游植物与环境因子的关系。本年度调查共发现浮游植物4门69属116种,其中硅藻门50属85种,甲藻门15属27种,着色鞭毛藻门3属3种,未定类1种(三深碎裂藻,Ebria tripartita)。浮游植物丰度在8月份达到年度最高值,为2.89×108cells/m3,秋季次之,春季最低,春、秋、冬季浮游植物丰度均为~105cells/m3。硅藻门在4个季节中均占绝对优势,除春季出现甲藻门(夜光藻)优势种外,其余季节浮游植物优势种均为硅藻门。相邻季节浮游植物优势种更替明显,未出现4个季节共有的优势种。浮游植物多样性和均匀度指数均在夏季达到最低值,分别为1.58和0.31。RDA排序分析显示,不同季节影响浮游植物群落分布的环境因子不同,总体来讲,温度、溶解氧浓度、SiO32-浓度和NO3-浓度对浮游植物的丰度和平面分布有显著影响。Bray-Curtis相似性聚类结果显示,2018年每个季节浮游植物群落分布均可分为两个类群,其分布受营养盐分布的影响较为明显。  相似文献

This study examines the hydrodynamic performance of a modified two-layer horizontal-plate breakwater. The breakwater consists of an upper submerged horizontal porous plate and a lower submerged horizontal solid plate. By means of the matched eigenfunction expansion method, a linear analytical solution is developed for the interaction of water waves with the structure. Then the reflection coefficient, the transmission coefficient, the energy-loss coefficient and the wave forces acting on the plates are calculated. The numerical results obtained for limiting cases are exactly the same as previous predictions for a single submerged horizontal solid plate and a single submerged horizontal porous plate. Numerical results show that with a suitable geometrical porosity of the upper plate, the uplift wave forces on both plates can be controlled at a low level. Numerical results also show that the transmission coefficient will be always small if the dimensionless plate length (plate length versus incident wavelength) exceeds a certain moderate value. This is rather significant for practical engineering, as the incident wavelength varies over a wide range in practice. Moreover, it is found that the hydrodynamic performance of the present structure may be further enhanced if the lower plate is also perforated.  相似文献

Several detection statistics are compared in the frequency domain based on the asymptotic probability of detection (APD) criterion. They include second-order, fourth-order, normalized fourth-order, and kurtosis estimates. The results show that for randomly occurring signals which can be characterized as non-Gaussian, the fourth-order, normalized fourth-order, and kurtosis estimates can have higher asymptotic probability of detection levels compared with second-order estimates. But only for the normalized fourth-order and kurtosis estimates do the results seem significant. Moreover, if a second-order estimate of the noise is available to normalize a fourth-order estimate of signal and noise, the resultant normalized fourth-order estimate has higher asymptotic probability of detection levels even for Gaussian signals. This result holds only when there is a significant positive covariance between the numerator and the normalizing noise sample in the denominator. On the other hand, if an independent noise sample is used to normalize a second-order or fourth-order estimate, the overall performance based on the asymptotic probability of detection will be degraded compared with the unnormalized second-order or fourth-order estimates, respectively.  相似文献

The eigenfunction expansion method (will be referred to as error function method in this paper) of analysing reflection and transmission of ocean waves at a semi-infinite thin elastic plate [J Geophys Res 95 (1990) 11629; Phil Trans R Soc Lond A 347 (1994) 185] is modified and extended to cases with simply supported and built-in edges. The form of the error function in the eigenfunction expansion method of Fox and Squire [J Geophys Res 95 (1990) 11629] has been modified based on a dimensional analysis and also extended to plates with either a simply supported or a built-in edge. The modified error function does not include the so-called Lagrange multipliers used in the original method and therefore the modified solution is independent of the selection of the Lagrange multipliers. It is demonstrated that the modified error function method satisfies the relation of energy conservation very well for the three edge conditions examined. The relation of energy conservation for plates is derived for elastic plates with simply supported and built-in edges and it is found that the relation of energy conservation for a free edge is also held for simply supported and built-in edges.In addition, a minor modification has also been made to the eigenfunction method (will be called inner product method in this study) of Sahoo et al. [Proceedings of 10th International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference 3 (2000) 594]. It will be shown that the modified inner product method becomes mathematically well defined. The modified coefficient matrixes for different edge conditions are diagonal and thus the linear simultaneous equations can be solved very easily. It is also demonstrated with examples that the extended error function method and the modified inner product method give identical results.  相似文献
