As urban area undergoes a rapid change it will be necessary to review development and the urban plans once in five years in relation to important public and other decisions taken from time to time. In order to know the trend of development and landuse patterns, analysis of sequential aerial photographs and satellite imagery of different years can be a useful tool for interpretation of various landuses and their comparison, In the present study an attempt has been made to understand the change detection using sequential aerial photographs of 1974 and 1989, and comparison with SPOT data of I988 with the help of ‘USEMAP’ GIS software package.  相似文献

Remotely-sensed data products have got unique advantage over conventional data-gathering techniques in the study of urban morphology. The physical parameters like built-up area density, street pattern, population density, urban structure as well as functional characteristics which can be derived from land use/land cover map, are clearly visible on aerial data products. This technique provides synoptic view of the area which makes the study comprehensive and uniform. Sequential aerial photographs and satellite imagery help in studying the growth of urban area and temporal changes in urban structure. These informations are very useful in the planning of city extension. Here an attempt has been made to study the urban morphology of Saharanpur city by using panchromatic aerial photographs on scale 1∶10,000, IRS-1B LISS II geocoded imagery on 1∶50,000 scale and photo-maps on 1∶4000 scale, and the results are very encouraging.  相似文献

采用地形图和MSS/TM,SPOT5卫星遥感数据,提取城市建成区范围,计算多种城市扩展指数,研究分析了1976~2010年上虞城市用地扩展情况。研究发现,20世纪70年代至21世纪10年代,上虞城市用地扩展面积和强度在最初爆发性增长后,保持高位稳定。城市紧凑度指数持续降低,城市分形维度在大幅下降后保持稳定,城市发展日益复杂化,边缘日益曲折、破碎化。今后市政规划建设应着力发展建设城市用地边缘离散曲折之处,提高城市紧凑度,降低分形维度,从而提高城市区域市政服务职能效率。  相似文献

Urban land density is an important factor to understand how cities expand. An “Inverse S-shape Rule” was implemented for the first time to analyze urban land density in Northeastern Thailand using the four cities Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom, and Nong Khai as study sites. Land density function was tested using different data classification techniques from previous studies. Each city was investigated over two different time periods between 2002 and 2015. Declining pattern characteristics of metropolitan area density outward from city centers can be quantified by fitting the parameters to urban land density functions. An inverse S-shape function was identified as the best data fit. The four selected cities showed conventional density variation for decline in urban land area from city centers to outlying areas. Overall trend indicated that cities became more compact over time since the density differences between the urban core and urban fringe were greater with increasing infilling growth within the urban boundary. All four cities increased in size over time; however, the increasing amount of built-up land in the surrounding rural areas did not follow the same trend in each case. Some functional parameters required careful interpretation because of the linear shape of the city as in the case of Nakhon Phanom. Using highly detailed urban data resulted in lower densities of urban areas compared to the conventional pixel-based classification, and this affected the overall shape of the inverse S-shape function. The fitted parameters and their changing trends indicated that the urban land density function was useful for understanding urban form and urban sprawl in Thailand. Results can be used to develop a specific framework for other cities with similar attributes in the future.  相似文献

To tackle the problems arising due to rapid urbanization, the urban planners need relevant data base. Since the conventional methods of data acquisition and processing ate not cost and time effective, introduction of new techniques is necessary. Application of satellite remote sensing is an alternative. Ia this paper attempt has been made to find out the usefulness of visual interpretation technique of satellite remote sensing data in the selection of new residential site. SPOT 1 HRV 1 MLA (FCC) date has been used to map existing landuse/landcover of Hisar town and its environs. Based on existing landuse/lsndcover conditions and evaluation of various suitability parameters like physiography, slope, drainage, availability of drinking water and wind direction, a new residential site has been selected. This study may be useful to the urban planners in the preparation of a comprehensive plan Df the town.  相似文献

The present study evaluates four methods of merging SPOT MLA and PLA data; namely Determinant analysis, Principal Component analysis, Hue-Saturation-Intensity (HSI) analysis and Filtering analysis. The test area is 5 km × 5 km window over Jodhpur city and its environs. SPOT MLA and PLA data acquired within one week in Nov. 1990 were used in the analysis. The results were evaluated using both visual and statistical comparison amongst the outputs. Filtering analysis produced the best results both from visual and statistical point of view and determinant analysis ranked closely second. Comparatively HSI method distorted the spectral characteristics more but visually the output was better than that of PC. The results are applicable for urban landuse mapping and need to be tested for other themes as well.  相似文献

Soil maps have been prepared hitherto by conventional ground surveys and by using aerial photographs. In this paper, the use of LANDSAT data for preparation of small scale soil maps upto association of sub-group level has been discussed. Typical spectral curves for various soils and landuse categories were given based on the mean spectral levels for each LANDSAT band obtained from Multispectral Data Analysis System (M-DAS). Soil characterization using the multispectral data could be done by both image oriented and numerically oriented approaches. The small scale soil maps thus prepared by using the satellite data could be used for regional planning and as map base for further detailed surveys.  相似文献

Urban areas are the most dynamic region on earth. Their size has been constantly increased during the past and this process will go on in the future. Since there is no standard policy and guidelines for construction of buildings and urban planning, cities tend to have irregular growth. Many cities in the world face the problem of urban sprawl in its suburbs. So issues of urban sprawl need to be settled with the help of technologies such as satellite remote sensing and automated change detection. This paper presents a wavelet based post classification change detection technique that is applied to 1996 and 2004 MSS images of Madurai City, South India to determine the urban growth. The classification stage of the technique uses coilflet wavelet filter to correlate with the MSS land cover images of Madurai city to derive texture feature vector and this feature vector is inputted to a fuzzy-c means classifier, an unsupervised classification procedure. The post classification change detection technique is employed for identifying the newly developed urban fringe of the study area. The error matrix analysis is used to assess the accuracy of the change map. The performance of the presented technique is found superior than that of classical change detection methods such as image differencing, change vector analysis and principal component analysis.  相似文献

Abstract

Urban growth boundary (UGB) is a regulatory measure of local government for delineating limits of urban growth over a period of time. Land within the UGB allows urban development, while the land outside of this boundary remains primarily non-urban. The increasing popularity of UGB demands an easy and effective method to design this boundary. This article introduces a new concept, Ideal Urban Radial Proximity (IURP), to designate a spatial UGB using geoinformatics in the digital environment. The Kolkata urban agglomeration was considered to demonstrate this model. Remotely sensed imageries of three temporal instants (years 1975, 1990 and 2005) were considered to determine the information on urban extent and growth of the city. These data were then used as inputs to model the UGB for the years 2020 and 2035. The proposed model discourages scattered development and increase in urban growth rate. It preserves urban vegetation, water bodies and any other important non-urban areas within the inner city space. The IURP concept will also be useful to make the cities circular and polycentric urban blobs into a monocentric tract. Apart from the proposed model and derived results, this research also proves the potential of geoinformatics in modelling a UGB.  相似文献

Land is one of the prime natural resources. A city grows not only by population but also by changes in spatial dimensions. Urban population growth and urban sprawl induced land use changes and land transformation. The land transformation is a natural process and cannot be stopped but it can be regulated. Many geographical changes at the urban periphery are associated with the transfer of land from rural to urban purpose. There is an urgent need for fast growing areas like Delhi, which can be easily done by high-resolution remote sensing data. Land use/land cover of North West of Delhi has been analyzed for the time period of 1972?C2003. The remote sensing data used in study is Aster image of 2003 with a spatial resolution of 15?m and other data of 1972 Survey of India (SOI) toposheet at the scale of 1:50,000. Supervised digital classification using maximum likelihood classifier was applied for preparing land use/land cover. A change detection model was applied in ERDAS Imagine to find out the land use/land cover during 1972 to 2003. Eight land use classes was identified but main dominated classes were built up and agricultural land. A drastic change has been recorded during 30 years of time i. e. (1972-2003). In 1972, 92.06% of the land was under agricultural practice, which reduced to 64.71% in 2003. This shows 27.35% decrease in agricultural land in three decades. On the other hand built up area was 6.31% in 1972, which increased to 34% in 2003. One of the main cause of this land use change is the population growth due to the migration in the district from small cities and rural areas of Delhi.  相似文献

城区边界和城区面积是城镇化的重要表征和扩展分析的基础。然而城区边界存在概念和提取标准不统一、精度较低、可比性较差等问题。为此,提出了基于高分辨率影像和地理信息资料辅助的城区半自动化提取方法,充分利用高分辨率影像上的城市景观特征、先验地理信息知识和一系列标准规则,以得到精度高、一致性强的数据。以中国337个地级以上城市为研究区,采用该方法得到了2000年、2005年、2010年、2016年4期城区边界成果,并开展了城区时空扩展及用地效率等相关分析。结果表明:①16年间城区扩展迅速,城区主要集中分布在东部和中部,东西部地区差异大;②城市用地效率与城镇化发展水平显著相关,城区扩展以外延型为主;③大多城市城区扩展超前于人口增长,少量城市城区扩展滞后于人口增长;④城区扩展以占用耕地为主。  相似文献

Abstract

The transition and restructuring process of urban South Africa are currently in the phase of identifying land development objectives. These objectives aim to integrate previously segregated areas through integrated development plans. This research aims firstly to identify and describe the historical development of the spatial form and structure of the secondary city and capital of the Northern Province, Pietersburg and its dispersed peripheral towns. Supervised classification of SPOT HRV multispectral imagery is used to support the theoretical explanation. Images from an airborne digital Kodak DCS 420 camera are used to provide training sites in the pre‐classification stages, and also provide field data to the process of post‐classification accuracy assessment. Secondly, SPOT HRV imagery is applied to identify the stark contrast in urban development between the city of Pietersburg and its surrounding former homeland towns. Both built and natural environmental aspects are investigated. In conclusion benefits and problems of assessing urban morphology and development in a developing country by means of a combination of satellite imagery and digital aerial photography are discussed.  相似文献

Bombay Metropolitan Region covering an area of about 4,360 sq. km. was selected for urban land use studies and for urban land use zoning. Urban land use mapping was carried out using SPOT multispectral linear array imagery on 1∶25,000 scale employing visual analysis tehcniques. Fifteen maps were prepared depicting the spatial distribution of various urban classes in the Greater Bombay and New Bombay regions. Sixteen urban land use maps were also prepared using Landsat TM data showing the distribution of land use pattern on 1∶50,000 scale for the entire metropolitan region. Urban land use zoning was carried out based upon suitability index on 1∶250,000 scale. This map provides information on the areas to be used for construction and areas to be kept under green belt in the metropolitan region. This study is a joint venture of Space Applications Centre with Bombay Metropolitan Development authority.  相似文献

评估城市发展水平与制定城市规划和城市发展政策息息相关。已有研究表明人口、国内生产总值(GDP)等统计数据和夜间灯光遥感数据能够用来衡量城市发展水平,但大多研究只关注城市发展总量,忽视了发展速度对城市发展的影响。因此,本文基于2012年—2019年Suomi NPP-VIIRS (Suomi National Polar-OrbitingPartnership-Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite)夜间灯光遥感数据,提出了兼顾城市发展水平和增速的夜间灯光类动能指数用于测度城市发展类动能;利用动态时间规整DTW (Dynamic Time Warping)算法构建了城市发展类动能相似性检测分析框架,并基于相似性检测结果对全国328个城市进行了等级划分。相较于2019年第一财经公布的一至五线城市,本文城市等级划分结果表明,在同一等级中的城市发展更为相似和合理,也证明了城市发展类动能更有利于城市发展水平的评估;以长江三角洲城市群为例,进一步验证了城市发展类动能和基于DTW相似性检测方法用于评估城市群发展情况与合理性的潜力。综上所述,基于夜间灯光遥感的城市发展类动能估算与相似性分析方法能够较好地评估城市发展水平,为城市分级与城市群发展评估提供科学依据。  相似文献

Visual interpretation of satellite data products coupled with field checking is a very useful technique of finding out the physical growth of urban centres. The expansion of urban centres is very fast and conventional ground methods are slow and in-accurate because by these methods, delineation of built-up area is difficult. Mapping and monitoring the urban sprawl, as a result of urban decay of city centre, at regular intervals is very essential for urban planners to understand the trend of development on the urban periphery and subsequently to regulate it. In this study, various data products like Landsat MSS, TM, Toposheets were used to find out the growth of Delhi urban area since 1975 to 1988. Thematic Mapper imagery was used to prepare a broad landuse/land cover map of Delhi and environs. This study was very useful in finding out the potential, as well as shortcomings of satellite data products in the study of various urban aspects.  相似文献

Because of quick development of cities, the update of urban GIS data is very important. Change detection is the base of automatic or semi-automatic data update. One way of change detections in urban area is based on old and new aerial images acquired in different durations. The corresponding theory and experiments are introduced and analyzed in this paper. The main procedure includes four stages. The new and old images have to be registered firstly. Then image matching, based on the maximum correlation coefficient, is performed between registered images after the low contrast areas have been removed. The regions with low matching quality are extracted as candidate changed areas. Thirdly, the Gaussian-Laplacian operator is used to detect edges in candidate changed areas on both the registered images, and the straight lines are detected by Hough transformation. Finally, the changed houses and roads can be detected on the basis of straight line matching in candidate changed areas between registered images.  相似文献
