新疆喀喇昆仑多宝山铅锌矿床赋存于上白垩统铁隆滩组灰岩段中,明显受构造控制,矿体形态呈不规则囊状、脉状、透镜状等。成矿阶段可分为3期:早期硫化物成矿阶段(方铅矿、闪锌矿、方解石)、中期交代成矿阶段(菱锌矿、铁氧化物、白铅矿、石膏)与晚期氧化阶段(水锌矿)。硫化物阶段方铅矿的δ34S为-14‰~-0.6‰,表明S可能来源于海相硫酸盐岩的还原。Pb同位素组成集中,具有地壳来源特征,二叠系—白垩系可能提供了金属成矿物质。方解石的δ~(18)C_(PDB)为3.5‰~5.7‰,δ~(18) O_(SMOW)为22.1‰~27.1‰,来源于碳酸盐岩地层的溶解作用。交代成矿阶段菱锌矿的δ~(18)C_(PDB)为2.9‰~3.8‰,δ~(18) O_(SMOW)为16.9‰~20.3‰;白铅矿的δ~(18) C_(PDB)为2.7‰~4.4‰,δ~(18) O_(SMOW)为15.8‰~20.3‰,C、O同位素漂移可能是与大气降水的混入有关。硫化物成矿阶段方解石流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.72~0.93R/Ra,~(40)Ar/~(36) Ar值为302.1~350.7,方铅矿流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为1.17R/Ra,~(40)Ar/~(36) Ar值为298.1,交代成矿阶段菱锌矿流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.22~0.46R/Ra,~(40)Ar/~(36) Ar值为292.6~295.8,白铅矿流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.40~0.59R/Ra,~(40)Ar/~(36) Ar值为292.9~295.4,两个阶段成矿流体均为地壳流体与大气降水混合流体。综上所述,多宝山铅锌矿床是盆地边缘褶皱逆冲+构造流体+次生交代成矿系统的产物,硫化物成矿阶段为构造热液成因,交代成矿阶段为直接交代成因,后期发生叠加氧化作用。  相似文献

内蒙古包头市哈达门沟金矿床是华北陆块北缘乌拉山-大青山地区的大型金矿床,矿床赋存于新太古界乌拉山群黑云角闪斜长片麻岩、角闪黑云二长片麻岩和含石榴石黑云斜长片麻岩中,成矿流体性质不明。文章对哈达门沟金矿主要载金矿物黄铁矿开展了流体包裹体中的He、Ar同位素组成研究。研究表明,赋存于黄铁矿流体包裹体中的4He含量为(83.92~606.46)×10-8cm3STP/g,n(3He)/n(4He)值为0.19~0.91Ra,幔源He的含量为2.62%~13.73%,平均为9.95%,表明成矿流体中的He主要来源于地壳,大约10%来源于地幔。~(40)Ar含量为(71.22~308.22)×10~(-8)cm~3STP/g,~(40)Ar/~(36)Ar比值变化于2793.6~7253.5之间,在n(~(40)Ar)/n(~(36)Ar)与R/Ra图解和n(~(40)Ar*)/n(4He)与R/Ra图解中,显示地壳氩和地幔氩的混合来源特征。结合已有的氢、氧、硫同位素研究,认为哈达门沟金矿成矿流体主体为地壳来源,但幔源流体的加入清晰可辨,乌拉特前旗-呼和浩特山前断裂很可能为富钾质壳幔混合流体的运移提供了通道和动力。  相似文献

争光浅成低温热液型金矿床位于大兴安岭成矿带北段,是多宝山矿集区内的一个重要矿床。文章通过流体包裹体和C_H_O_He_Ar同位素的系统研究,对该矿床成矿流体和矿床成因进行了深入探讨。矿床成矿作用可划分为4个主要阶段:石英_黄铁矿阶段(成矿前阶段)、石英_多金属硫化物阶段(主成矿阶段)、方解石_(石英)_多金属硫化物阶段(主成矿阶段)和方解石阶段(成矿后阶段)。流体包裹体研究表明,争光金矿床主要发育富液相流体包裹体。石英_黄铁矿阶段、方解石_(石英)_多金属硫化物阶段和方解石阶段流体包裹体的均一温度分别介于116~243℃(集中于150~170℃)、129~294℃(集中于140~160℃)和130~155℃(集中于130~150℃);w(NaCleq)分别介于0.9%~10.1%、1.2%~13.8%和2.7%~8.7%。成矿流体具有低温、低盐度、相对还原的特征,属H_2O_Na Cl体系。石英_黄铁矿阶段成矿流体的δD和δ18O分别为-127‰~-110‰和-5.9‰~0.6‰,蚀变围岩的δD值和δ18O值分别为-118‰~-108‰和6.3‰~7.9‰。方解石_(石英)_多金属硫化物阶段和方解石阶段方解石的δ~(13)C分别为-5.3‰~-2.0‰和-2.9‰~-2.2‰,δ18O分别为7.7‰~9.3‰和9.9‰~13.5‰。黄铁矿流体包裹体的~3He/~4He、~(40)Ar/~(36)Ar和~(40)Ar*/4He比值分别为1.75~3.06 Ra、683~1295和0.30~0.63。综合流体包裹体特征和稳定同位素组成,认为成矿早阶段成矿流体为大气降水与围岩发生水_岩反应后的演化水。随着成矿作用的进行,成矿流体变为大气降水与岩浆水的混合水,但仍以大气降水为主导。成矿流体与贫H_2S的流体混合和硫化物沉淀的共同作用可能是该矿床金沉淀的主要机制。  相似文献

石湖地区金、银多金属矿床位于太行山中北段,产出于太古界阜平群变质岩系,燕山期麻棚岩体的周边。本文以石湖地区代表性矿床为例,根据多金属矿床黄铁矿流体包裹体中He、Ar同位素及与黄铁矿共生的石英流体包裹体中C、H、O同位素组成,探讨了石湖地区金、银多金属矿床成矿流体来源。分析结果表明石湖地区金、银多金属矿床黄铁矿流体包裹体中3He/4He介于0.43~2.40 Ra,40Ar/36Ar介于477~879,显示出本区金、银多金属矿床的成矿流体为地幔流体与地壳流体混合的产物。石英包裹体中δDV-SMOW介于-62‰~-105‰,δ18OV-SMOW介于9.6‰~13.8‰,表明成矿流体为岩浆水与大气降水的混合;δ13CPDB介于-3.5‰~-5.0‰,表明矿区成矿热液来自地幔。氢、氧、碳同位素体系与氦、氩同位素体系的示踪具有一致性,均显示出石湖地区金、银多金属矿床成矿流体为地幔流体与地壳流体混合的产物。  相似文献

四川大渡河金矿田位于扬子地台西缘金成矿带北段,受大渡河剪切带控制。本文以该矿田黄金坪、白金台子、黑金台子金矿为例,根据对黄铁矿流体包裹体氦氩同位素、黄铁矿硫同位素以及与黄铁矿共生的石英流体包裹体的氢氧同位素组成测定,讨论了大渡河金矿田成矿流体的来源。结果显示,该金矿田黄铁矿流体包裹体中的~3He/~4He变化较小,为0.16~0.86Ra,而~(40)Ar/~(36)Ar的变化较大,为298~3288;而黄铁矿δ~(34)S同位素变化范围较窄,一般为0.7‰~4.2‰,集中于2.5‰~3‰,显示硫地幔来源的特点;石英流体包裹体的氢、氧同位素分别为-2.6‰~ 3.64‰和-39.13‰~-108.23‰,说明成矿流体为岩浆水和大气降水的混合流体。本文认为大渡河金矿田成矿流体是地幔流体与地壳流体的混合作用的结果,而以地壳流体占主导地位。其中,地幔流体为与下伏隐伏岩体有关的岩浆水,而地壳流体端元则是含有一定放射成因Ar的大气降水,并且温度小于200℃。  相似文献

粤北诸广南部铀矿田是我国重要的花岗岩型铀矿产地之一,有关诸广南部花岗岩型铀矿田的成因,多年来一直存在较大的争议。本文以诸广南部铀矿田典型铀矿床成矿期萤石、方解石和黄铁矿中流体包裹体为测试对象,研究了成矿流体的He、Ar同位素地球化学。研究表明,萤石流体包裹体的~3He/~4He比值为0. 021~0. 186Ra,~(40) Ar/~(36)比值为298. 4~2515. 7;方解石流体包裹体的3He/4He比值为0. 027~0. 209Ra,~(40) Ar/~(36)比值为295. 9~327. 2;黄铁矿流体包裹体的3He/4He比值为0. 021~1. 543Ra,~(40) Ar/~(36)比值为326. 9~1735. 1; He-Ar同位素系统显示成矿流体的3He/4He比值略高于地壳氦同位素特征值(0. 01~0. 05Ra),但低于幔源氦同位素特征值(6~9Ra),~(40) Ar/~(36)比值接近或高于大气氩的同位素组成(~(40) Ar/~(36)=295. 5),成矿流体为壳-幔混合来源。结合H-O、He-Ar、C和Sr等多元同位素证据表明,成矿流体由两个端元组成:一是含有一定放射性成因Ar的大气降水的地壳流体,二是含幔源He的地幔流体。进一步研究表明,受NNW向断裂控制的棉花坑、书楼丘、长排等铀矿床受地幔流体影响比较大,而受NE向断裂控制的蕉坪、东坑、烟筒岭铀矿床受大气降水影响比较大。  相似文献

近年来,青藏高原北缘喀喇昆仑铅锌找矿取得重大突破,新发现的火烧云超大型铅锌矿床已成为中国最大的铅锌矿床,矿石矿物以菱锌矿、白铅矿、水锌矿为主,也是世界第二大非硫化物铅锌矿床。矿体呈似层状产出,埋藏浅,主要为褐色块状矿石,Pb+Zn平均品位近30%。可分为3个成矿阶段。早期铅锌硫化物成矿阶段(方铅矿、闪锌矿、方解石)、中期铅锌非硫化物成矿阶段(菱锌矿、锰氧化物→菱锌矿、白铅矿、石膏)与晚期表生氧化阶段(水锌矿)。硫化物阶段方铅矿的δ34S为-18.9‰~-4.2‰,非硫化物阶段热液石膏的δ34S为-20.6‰~-7.5‰,继承了硫化物阶段矿物的硫同位素特征。Pb同位素组成集中,具有地壳来源特征,二叠系—白垩系可能提供了金属成矿物质。方解石的δ18CPDB为0.6‰~3.1‰,δ18 OSMOW为15.3‰~24.6‰,菱锌矿的δ18 CPDB为-2.7‰~4.5‰,δ18 OSMOW为10.4‰~26.1‰,来源于碳酸盐岩的溶解作用;白铅矿的δ18 CPDB为-7.7‰~4.3‰,δ18 OSMOW为9.3‰~24.3‰,同位素发生漂移,可能是与大气降水的混入有关。硫化物成矿阶段方解石中流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.05~0.39 R/Ra,40 Ar/36 Ar值为296.2~428.9,方铅矿中流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.03 R/Ra,40 Ar/36 Ar值为290.0,成矿流体可能为中温、低盐度、中低密度的还原性壳源流体;非硫化物成矿阶段菱锌矿中流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.10~0.43 R/Ra,40 Ar/36 Ar值为290.6~295.3;白铅矿中流体包裹体的3 He/4 He值为0.08R/Ra,40 Ar/36 Ar值为293.5,成矿流体可能为中低温、低盐度、中密度的壳源流体与大气降水混合流体。综上所述,火烧云超大型铅锌矿床是盆地边缘褶皱逆冲+构造流体+次生交代成矿系统的产物,硫化物成矿阶段为构造热液成因,非硫化物成矿阶段为围岩交代成因,后期发生叠加氧化作用,形成大量水锌矿。  相似文献

阿舍勒大型铜锌矿是我国典型的海相火山岩块状硫化物(VHMS)型矿床,赋存于阿舍勒盆地早—中泥盆世阿舍勒组海相火山—沉积岩系中。1号主矿体呈似层状或大透镜体状,矿石呈块状、浸染状、条带状、层纹状、细脉状。本文对块状、浸染状、条带状矿石的黄铁矿中流体包裹体He和Ar同位素进行了研究。黄铁矿中流体包裹体的4He含量为(64.5~173.0)×10-7cm3STP/g,n(3He)/n(4He)值为(0.1358~0.379)Ra,幔源He的含量为1.79%~5.55%,表明成矿流体中He主要来源于地壳。40Ar含量为(0.318~4.69)×10-7cm3STP/g,n(40Ar)/n(36Ar)值变化于389.1~9425,40Ar*含量为24.06%~96.89%,表明成矿流体中存在含有放射性成因Ar的海水加入。结合矿床的氢、氧、硫同位素特征,认为成矿流体来源为海水和幔源岩浆热液。  相似文献

新疆萨瓦亚尔顿金矿位于西南天山西端,受NNE向脆韧性剪切带控制。对绢云母化蚀变岩进行了^40Ar/^39Ar法年龄测定,表明金主成矿时代为三叠纪。根据黄铁矿流体包裹体氦、氩同位素、石英流体包裹体的碳、氧同位素组成,讨论了萨瓦亚尔顿金矿成矿流体的来源。结果表明石英流体包裹体中δ^18OSMOW变化于14.5100-24.2‰,CO2的δ^CPDB变化范围较大,为-8.69‰~+4.98‰,暗示成矿流体中的碳来源于地幔和海相碳酸盐岩。黄铁矿流体包裹体的^3He/^4He变化较大,为0.04~1.11R/Ra,^40Ar/^36Ar变化较小,介于301~348。综合分析认为萨瓦亚尔顿金矿的成矿流体为地幔流体和地壳流体混合的产物,以地壳流体为主。  相似文献

豫西公峪构造蚀变岩型金矿床位于熊耳山东南缘祁雨沟金矿田内,矿体赋存于北东向断裂破碎带内。为探讨成矿流体的来源,尤其是地幔流体参与成矿的程度,选择13件主成矿期的矿石样品进行了系统研究,测定了公峪构造蚀变岩型金矿床成矿系统的温度及其 S、H、O 同位素和惰性气体 He、Ar 同位素组成。对保存于石英中的原生包裹体进行的详细研究结果表明:公峪构造蚀变岩型金矿床中含有丰富的包裹体,其类型复杂多样,有气体包裹体、气液包裹体、液体包裹体、含 CO_2包裹体四种类型。包裹体的均一温度变化范围较宽,在120℃~440℃之间均有分布,可进一步分为150℃~190℃、210℃~250℃和290~350℃三个区间,但主要集中于150℃~250℃的范围内。结合显微镜下观测载金矿物特点,推测金矿的形成温度区间主要在150℃~250℃之间。冰点变化范围较大,在-0.2℃~-9.6℃之间,对应的盐度在0.53wt%~13.51wt%之间。稳定同位素结果表明:硫化物的δ~(34)S 值变化于-1.7‰~2.2‰之间,与陨石硫的δ~(34)S 值接近,反映为深源;成矿Ⅰ阶段流体的δD 值为-68‰~-86‰,δ~(18)O_(H_2O)为 3.5‰~ 4.5‰,Ⅱ阶段流体的δD 值为-67‰~-84‰,δ~(18)O_(H_2O)为-3.7‰~ 2.6‰,反映成矿流体主要有两个来源,Ⅰ阶段以深源水为主,Ⅱ阶段有大量大气降水混入。氦氩同位素研究表明:公峪构造蚀变岩型金矿床黄铁矿流体包裹体的~3He/~4He 比值为1.05~3.17R/Ra,高于地壳的~3He/~4He 比值100余倍,但明显低于地幔流体的~3He/~4He 比值;~(40)Ar/~(36)Ar=298~391,略高于大气氩的同位素组成;~(40)Ar/~45He 比值0.08~0.35,平均为0.20,与地壳~(40)Ar/~4He 比值一致。He、Ar 同位素组成特征显示了公峪金矿床成矿流体以大气降水为主,但同时有地幔流体成分,推断金矿床成矿作用与地幔活动有着密切的关系。通过与祁雨沟隐爆角砾岩型金矿床的对比研究,认为虽然祁雨沟金矿和公峪金矿赋存于不同的构造环境中,但是流体包裹体及其同位素研究结果显示了二者的成矿作用具有一致性,他们应属于同一成矿系统的产物,均与燕山晚期岩浆热液活动有关,可能为同源、同期、不同构造空间的演化产物。  相似文献

Komatiites are mantle-derived ultramafic volcanic rocks. Komatiites have been discovered in several States of India, notably in Karnataka. Studies on the distribution of trace-elements in the komatiites of India are very few. This paper proposes a simple, accurate, precise, rapid, and non-destructive wavelength-dispersive x-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectrometric technique for determining Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th in komatiites, and discusses the accuracy, precision, limits of detection, x-ray spectral-line interferences, inter-element effects, speed, advantages, and limitations of the technique. The accuracy of the technique is excellent (within 3%) for Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th and very good (within 4%) for Y. The precision is also excellent (within 3%) for Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th. The limits of detection are: 1 ppm for Sc and V; 2 ppm for Cr, Co, and Ni; 3 ppm for Cu, Zn, Rb, and Sr; 4 ppm for Y and Zr; 6 ppm for Nb; 10 ppm for Ba; 13 ppm for Pb; and 14 ppm for Th. The time taken for determining Sc, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Ba, Pb, and Th in a batch of 24 samples of komatiites, for a replication of four analyses per sample, by one operator, using a manual WDXRF spectrometer, is only 60 hours.  相似文献

本文拟定了一种以熔融法制备样片,用X射线荧光光谱测定硅酸盐类样品中Si、Fe、Al、Tj、Mn、Ca、Mg、K、Na、P等元素的分析方法。在对不同靶材X光管和分光晶体实验对比的基础上,选择了最佳的测量条件。该法具有快速、准确,测量范围广,检测限低,价格便宜等优点。经过近百个各种类型标样或管理样品的分析对比表明,本法不仅适用于硅酸盐类岩石样品的分析,还适用于铁矿、铝土矿、碳酸盐类岩矿样品以及水泥、耐火材料等样品的分析。  相似文献

This paper reports the first results of a study of 11 isotope systems (3He/4He, 40Ar/36Ar, 34S/32S, 65Cu/63Cu, 62Ni/60Ni, 87Sr/86Sr, 143Nd/144Nd, 206–208Pb/204Pb, Hf–Nd, U–Pb, and Re–Os) in the rocks and ores of the Cu–Ni–PGE deposits of the Norilsk ore district. Almost all the results were obtained at the Center of Isotopic Research of the Karpinskii All-Russia Research Institute of Geology. The use of a number of independent genetic isotopic signatures and comprehensive isotopic knowledge provided a methodic basis for the interpretation of approximately 5000 isotopic analyses of various elements. The presence of materials from two sources, crust and mantle, was detected in the composition of the rocks and ores. The contribution of the crustal source is especially significant in the paleofluids (gas–liquid microinclusions) of the ore-forming medium. Crustal solutions were probably a transport medium during ore formation. Air argon is dominant in the ores, which indicates a connection between the paleofluids and the atmosphere. This suggests intense groundwater circulation during the crystallization of ore minerals. The age of the rocks and ores of the Norilsk deposits was determined. The stage of orebody formation is restricted to a narrow age interval of 250 ± 10 Ma. An isotopic criterion was proposed for the ore-bearing potential of mafic intrusions in the Norilsk–Taimyr region. Mining induced subsidence can significantly affect mining costs where major surface facilities and natural environment need to be protected. Overburden grout injection is a technology used to control coal mine subsidence by injecting the mine waste material extracted from the coal back into the inter-burden rock during longwall mining. The flowing slurry is here categorised as a nonlinear viscous cohesive (Bingham plastic) fluid. During longwall mining the grout slurry is pumped into the separated beds of the rock mass through a central vertical borehole, which is drilled deep into the inter-burden rock strata above the coal seam. However, a blockage can occur in the injection system when the slurry velocity falls below a certain critical threshold velocity, indicating a material phase change from cohesive-viscous to cohesive-frictional. In situ field injection tests through boreholes have been simulated at a smaller scale at the CSIRO laboratory in Brisbane by pumping the slurry through a radial disk (gap = 4 mm) from its centre. Laboratory experiments indicate a general, nonlinear, cohesive, viscous, frictional model for shear behaviour of the slurry, in which the material shear parameters are functions of the disk radial distance. Complete dimensional and dimensionless analytical solutions have been developed based on an approach related to Bingham–Herschel–Bulkley fluid mechanics. The derived formulae include relations for minimum pump pressure, local pressure and pressure gradient, wall shear stress, volume rate, velocity and velocity gradient. The theoretical results match the experimental measurements. The experiments covered slurries with maximum particle sizes of 0.5 to 2 mm with about 50% being larger than 100 µm. The viscosities at the various solids concentrations were measured with a standard torsion viscometer. This study differs from the previous research in several distinct aspects, namely, consideration of the variable shear parameters rather than fixed values, inclusion of total nonlinear behaviour, and implementation of a friction function to mimic behaviour of the deposited and consolidating stiff slurry, which can cause a significant pressure rise as a result of the increased shear resistance.  相似文献

在常温常压条件下对中国大陆科学钻CCSD主孔100-3000米岩心样品进行了密度测量,建立了密度连续剖面,并界定了不同超高压岩石的密度值。通过对比高温高压物性实验资料,岩石密度随着退变程度增强而降低,榴辉岩密度变化序列为3.52g/cm3→3.49g/cm3→3.07g/cm3→2.93g/cm3。超高压长英质岩石密度变化序列为3.00g/cm→2.80g/cm3→2.65g/cm3。上述实验资料是讨论不同折返阶段岩石所受浮力的基础,为研究折返速率大小提供了基本参数。本文通过折返板块运动平衡时,上浮力与粘滞力平衡这一关系式,定量研究了大陆俯冲板块的折返速率,认为密度差产生上浮力从而引起折返,温度对板块折返速率的影响最为显著;密度差大小、折返角度、折返板块大小对折返速率也有直接的影响。定量模拟分析表明,在温度高于850℃时,板块的折返速率可以超过100mm/a;当温度降至700℃时,折返速率则低于1.5mm/a。作者认为在折返早期,温度较高,板块快速折返至60-70km榴辉岩相深度;随着传导散热,温度降低,板块以较慢的速率折返至中下地壳。折返速率的估算表明,浮力是板块折返第一阶段(从>100km深部折返至<40km的中下地壳)的主要驱动力。  相似文献

Bellechester, Minnesota, is a small community of approximately 155 residents located on the county line between Goodhue and Wabasha counties in southeast Minnesota's karst region. Bellechester is served by a 21-year-old wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) consisting of three waste-stabilization ponds. On 28 April 1992 six sinkholes were discovered to have drained cell 2 of the WWTF resulting in the loss of approximately 8.7×106 1 of partially treated effluent and about 600 m3 of soil into previously undetected subsurface voids of unknown dimensions. In the week following the collapse, approximately 200 water wells located within a 5-km radius of the WWTF were sampled in an after-the-fact, emergency sampling program. Twelve samples with elevated fecal coliform levels, 18 samples with nitrate-nitrogen greater than the 10 mg/1 standard, and no samples with elevated chlorides were found. However, the elevated levels could not be unambiguously attributed to the WWTF collapse. This is the third WWTF to fail by sinkhole collapse in southeast Minnesota since 1974. All three collapsed lagoons have been located in similar geomorphic and stratigraphic settings. However, at least two lagoons have collapsed in the adjacent area in northeast Iowa, and these lagoons are located at different stratigraphic positions. Twenty-two WWTFs constructed in southeast Minnesota's karst region in the last 25 years have been identified as subject to potential sinkhole collapse. An unknown but significant number of manure storage lagoons, flood control structures, etc., have also been constructed in the karst region and are at risk. Public agencies are beginning to develop plans to deal with the risk associated with existing and future waste lagoons in this environment. The critical hydrogeologic parameters that can be used to prioritize the risk of collapse at existing facilities include: (1) the lithology of the first bedrock beneath each lagoon, (2) the thickness of surficial materials between the lagoon and the bedrock surface, (3) the presence and construction of liners (seepage rate), and (4) the proximity to existing sinkholes.  相似文献

The Kuskokwim River at Bethel, Alaska, drains a major mercury-antimony metallogenic province in its upper reaches and tributaries. Bethel (population 4000) is situated on the Kuskokwim floodplain and also draws its water supply from wells located in river-deposited sediment. A boring through overbank and floodplain sediment has provided material to establish a baseline datum for sediment-hosted heavy metals. Mercury (total), arsenic, antimony, and selenium contents were determined; aluminum was also determined and used as normalizing factor. The contents of the heavy metals were relatively constant with depth and do not reflect any potential enrichment from upstream contaminant sources.  相似文献
