基于Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS)数据,采用van den Bosch等发展的自适应方法从星系样本中挑选出中央星系及其卫星星系,然后研究卫星星系速度弥散与中央星系/卫星星系属性的关系.和之前的研究一致,卫星星系平均速度弥散随着中央星系质量增大而增大,并且红中央星系所在星系群的速度弥散比蓝中央星系要大.发现平均而言,在红中央星系周围,卫星星系的速度弥散和其质量之间没有明显关联.但是在蓝中央星系周围,质量大的卫星星系速度弥散偏大,而红卫星星系的速度弥散要比蓝卫星星系偏大.进一步的研究表明,在相同的暗晕中,卫星星系速度弥散和卫星星系质量并不相关.有意思的是,如果红中央星系周围同时有红和蓝卫星星系,那么红卫星星系的速度要小,对其中的物理机制进行了初步的探讨.此外还发现,若中央星系周围只有红或蓝(质量大或小)的卫星星系时,有红(或质量大)的卫星星系所在的暗晕的速度弥散要大于有蓝(或者质量小)的卫星星系的暗晕,这表明卫星星系属性对于暗晕质量测量是有影响的.  相似文献

使用了目前最大的棒旋星系样本之一,着重于研究旋涡星系中央的比恒星形成率(sSFR)和棒结构的关系。我们用1g sSFR=-11 a~(-1)作为星系宁静态和活跃态的分界,统计对比了棒旋星系和非棒旋星系中央的sSFR,发现相对于非棒旋星系,棒旋星系处于中央宁静态的比重更大,而在中央活跃态其恒星形成活动更剧烈。为消除星系样本恒星质量差异对星系中央sSFR统计结果的影响,获得控制样本,使棒旋星系和非棒旋星系具有相同的恒星质量分布。随后发现这两类星系在中央宁静态中的统计差异消失,而在中央活跃态棒旋星系的恒星形成活动依旧相对剧烈,尤其体现在长棒星系中。这说明棒结构对旋涡星系中央的恒星形成起到促进作用,且作用效果与棒的长短相关。  相似文献

基于COSMOS(Cosmic Evolution Survey)/Ultra VISTA(Ultra-deep Visible and Infrared Survey Telescope for Astronomy)场中多波段测光数据,利用质量限选取了红移分布在0z3.5的星系样本.通过UVJ(U-V和V-J)双色图分类判据将星系分类成恒星形成星系(SFGs)和宁静星系(QGs).对于红移分布在0z1.5范围内且M*1011M⊙的QGs来说,该星系在样本中所占比例高于70%.在红移0z3.5范围内,恒星形成星系的恒星形成率(SFR)与恒星质量(M*)之间有着很强的主序(MS)关系.对于某一固定的恒星质量M*来说,星系的SFR和比恒星形成率(s SFR)会随着红移增大而增大,这表明在高红移处恒星形成星系更加活跃,有激烈的恒星形成.相对于低质量的星系来说,高质量的SFGs有较低的s SFR,这意味着低质量星系的增长更多的是通过星系本身的恒星形成.通过结合来自文献中数据点信息,发现更高红移(2z8)星系的s SFR随红移的演化趋势变弱,其演化关系是s SFR∝(1+z)0.94±0.17.  相似文献

该文总结了近年来椭圆星系中尘埃起源研究中的一些关键问题,包括尘埃大小的分布及其组成、椭圆星系恒星质量损失速率、尘埃的两种加热机制(恒星辐射加热和电子-尘埃碰撞加热),以及由此导致的尘埃温度分布;尘埃的总质量估算;由热离子导致的尘埃破坏速率,以及与此相关联的椭圆星系热气体分布,等等.综合考虑这些因素,作者认为热气体分布对于椭圆星系中尘埃存在和破坏的影响不可忽视,椭圆星系中星系内部恒星质量损失产生尘埃的起源可能占据着非常重要的地位.  相似文献

观测发现,恒星形成星系(star-forming galaxies, SFGs)的恒星形成率(ψSFR)与恒星质量(M*)之间存在紧密的相关关系(即lgψSFR-lg M*,称为“主序关系”),弥散约为0.2~0.4 dex。主序关系对限制星系演化的理论模型具有重要的意义,是描述星系演化的基本关系之一。近年来,随着大型观测设备和数据处理技术飞速发展,星系形成和演化的理论模型也越来越完善,在此基础上,天文学家对于主序关系的研究取得了许多重要进展。首先介绍测量星系ψSFR的技术和挑选SFGs的方法,方便后续分析主序关系存在系统性偏差的原因。然后介绍主序关系最新的观测进展:主序关系在大质量端会“变平”,可能是由于星系/暗晕冷热吸积模式发生转换导致冷吸积减少;主序关系的弥散对恒星质量的依赖呈现U型,可能是由于小质量端的恒星反馈和大质量端的活动星系核反馈导致恒星质量相近的星系在恒星形成历史上具有多样性;理论与观测得到的主序关系零点在中高红移存在差异的问题依然存在较大争议。最后对主序关系的研究进行了总结和展望。  相似文献

从观测上测定早型星系中恒星形成活动随红移的演化有助于理解这类星系的形成演化.结合GEMS(Galaxy Evolution from Morphology and SEDs)巡天的HST/ACS(Hubble Space Telescope/Advanced Camera for Surveys)高分辨图像和CDFS(ChandraDeep Field South)天区Spitzer、GALEX(Galaxy Evolution Explorer)等多波段数据,基于形态、颜色和恒星质量选出一个0.2≤z≤1.0红移范围的包含456个早型星系的完备样本.利用stacking技术测量了样本星系紫外与红外平均光度,估计早型星系的恒星形成率.结果显示,早型星系中的恒星形成率较低(<3 M·yr-1),随红移递减而降低.在红移z=1以来的恒星形成贡献的质量小于15%.星族分析亦肯定大质量早型星系的主体星族形成于宇宙早期(z>2).  相似文献

活动星系核的能量反馈是星系形成理论模型中的一个重要物理过程,与星系所处的暗物质晕质量、星系中央大质量黑洞吸积率等因素有关。当前的半解析模型预测活动星系核反馈机制主要有两种模式:射电模式和类星体模式,前者主要发生在大质量暗晕中央的大质量星系中,后者主要由较小质量星系并合导致。利用斯隆数字化巡天(SDSS)提供的目前最大的类星体光谱观测样本,结合基于SDSS构建的星系群(团)表,从统计上分析了类星体的热光度和暗晕质量的分布情况。初步分析结果显示,在大质量暗晕中,类星体的热光度和所在暗晕的质量没有相关性,类星体所在暗晕的质量分布很广,进一步证实了高光度的类星体并不存在于大质量的暗晕中。  相似文献

Results from a statistical study of Kazarian galaxies and the objects surrounding them are presented. It is shown that: (1) the sample of Kazarian galaxies up to 16m.0 is complete. (2) Roughly 35.7% of the Kazarian galaxies are members of clusters, 14.0% of groups, and 13.6% of binary systems, while 36.7% are single galaxies. (3) Of the 580 Kazarian galaxies, roughly 61.2% are infrared, 8.8% radio, and 2.8% x-ray sources. (4) The relative numbers of Kazarian galaxies for complete samples of I, R, and X in the different groups are systematically higher than the corresponding numbers for samples of all Kazarian galaxies.  相似文献

The surroundings of 75 active SB galaxies are investigated. It is shown with a fairly high degree of certainty that more galaxies are observed in the direction of the bar than in other directions. It is concluded that this may be a consequence of the galaxy-forming activity of these galaxies. It is noted that the influence of the surroundings on a galaxy is traditionally discussed, although there is much evidence that the surroundings of a galaxy are shaped due to its activity.  相似文献

In this article we present different aspects of AGN studies demonstrating the importance of the UV spectral range. Most important diagnostic lines for studying the general physical conditions as well as the metalicities in the central broad line region in AGN are emitted in the UV. The UV/FUV continuum in AGN excites not only the emission lines in the immediate surrounding but it is responsible for the ionization of the intergalactic medium in the early stages of the universe. Variability studies of the emission line profiles of AGN in the UV give us information on the structure and kinematics of the immediate surrounding of the central supermassive black hole as well as on its mass itself.  相似文献

Many problems in galactic dynamics require computer speeds orders of magnitude larger than what can be achieved on current single-processor machines. In the near future such speeds are likely to become available through computer architectures based on large-scale, fine-grained parallelism. An example of a highly parallel computer is the Connection Machine, with up to 65,636 processors. We have benchmarked gravitationalN-body algorithms on the Connection Machine, and compared those with similar benchmarks which we have obtained on more traditional vector supercomputers. Our conclusions are: (1) The direct summation algorithm, with of orderN 2 interactions forN particles, can be made to run with high efficiency on either type of computer. As a result, the Connection Machine clearly wins in speed over all supercomuters tested, with the exception of an 8-processor ETA, which shows a comparable performance. (2) A more efficient tree algorithm reduces the growth of the number of interactions fromN 2 toN logN. However, the greater complexity of this algorithm causes a considerable degradation of efficiency, by a factor which is larger on the Connection Machine than on vector supercomputers. As a result, out tree code runs at comparable speeds on both types of machines, with the notable exception of the 8-processor ETA, which has an extrapolated speed for running our tree code which is higher than any of the other machines we have tested.  相似文献

Recently (Granato, Lacey, Silva et al., 2000, astro-ph/0001308)we have combined our spectrophotometric galaxy evolution code which includes dust reprocessing (GRASIL, Silva et al., 1998) with semi-analytical galaxy formation models (GALFORM, Cole et al. 1999). One of the most characteristic features of the former is that the dust is divided in two main phases: molecular cloud complexes, where stars are assumed to be born, and the diffuse interstellar medium. As a consequence, stellar populations of different ages have different geometrical relationships with the two phases, which is essential in understanding several observed properties of galaxies, in particular those undergoing major episodes of star formation at any redshift. Indeed, our merged GRASIL+GALFORM model reproduces fairly well the SEDs of normal spirals and starbursts from the far-UV to the sub-mm and their internal extinction properties. In particular in the model the observed starburst attenuation law (Calzetti, 1999) is accounted for as an effect of geometry of stars and dust, and has nothing to do with the optical properties of dust grains.  相似文献

Oscillations in galaxies have been investigated by numerical simulations. The various models used have density distributions corresponding to that of polytrope of index n in the range 0 ≤ n ≤ 4 and their evolution has been followed for more than 70 crossing times. The kinetic energy shows regular and smooth oscillations for models with n = 0, 1 and 2 whereas in other models it shows noisy oscillation. The oscillation in kinetic energy is observed to have a period of 3 crossing time irrespective of the density and size of the galaxy.
