A rigorous theoretical investigation has been made on the nonlinear structures, mainly, dust-acoustic (DA) solitary and shock waves propagating in a strongly coupled dusty plasma consisting of strongly coupled correlated positively and negatively charged inertial cold dust fluid, weakly correlated inertialess Maxwellian electron and ion fluids. The presence of arbitrary (negative and positive) charged dust grains in such a plasma system causes the presence opposite potentials (positive and negative) DA solitary and shock structures and significantly modify it’s basic features. The results obtained from this analysis can be employed in understanding the nature of plasma waves both in laboratory and space plasma system.  相似文献

The nonlinear wave structures of ion acoustic waves (IAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of nonextensive electrons and thermal positrons are studied in bounded nonplanar geometry. Using reductive perturbation technique we have derived cylindrical and spherical Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers’ (KdVB) equations for IAWs. The presence of nonextensive q-distributed electrons is shown to influence the solitary and shock waves. Furthermore, in the existence of ion kinematic viscosity, the shock wave structure appears. Also, the effects of nonextensivity of electrons, ion kinematic viscosities, positron concentration on the properties of ion acoustic shock waves (IASWs) are discussed in nonplanar geometry. It is found that both compressive and rarefactive type solitons or shock waves are obtained depending on the plasma parameter.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation of the one dimensional dynamics of nonlinear electrostatic dust ion-acoustic (DIA) waves in an unmagnetized dusty plasma consisting of ion fluid, non-thermal electrons and fluctuating immobile dust particles has been made by the reductive perturbation technique. The basic features of DIA solitary and shock waves are studied by deriving the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) and KdV Burger equations, respectively. It is shown that the special patterns of nonlinear electrostatic waves are significantly modified by the presence of the non-thermal electron component. In particular, the rarefactive solitary and shock structures are found with smaller amplitude in comparison to the isothermal case. The transition from DIA solitary to shock waves is also studied which is related to the contributions of the dispersive and dissipative terms. It is found that the dust charge fluctuation is a source of dissipation, and is responsible for the formation of the dust ion-acoustic shock waves. Furthermore, the dissipative effect becomes important and may prevail over that of dispersion as the population of non-thermal electrons present decreases. The present investigation may be of relevance to electrostatic solitary structures observed in many space dusty plasma, such as Saturn’s E-ring.  相似文献

The nonlinear propagation of ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves in a dissipative, nonplanar quantum plasma comprised of electrons, positrons, and ions are studied. A modified Korteweg-de Vries Burgers equation is derived in the limit of low frequency and long wavelength by taking into account the kinematic viscosity among the plasma constituents. It is shown that this plasma system supports the propagation of both compressive and rarefactive nonlinear waves. The effects of variation of various plasma parameters on the time evolution of nonplanar solitary waves, the profile of shock waves, and the nonlinear structure induced by the collision of solitary waves are discussed. It is found that these parameters have significant effects on the properties of nonlinear waves in cylindrical and spherical geometries, and these effects for compressive and rarefactive nonlinear waves are obviously different.  相似文献

Dust-acoustic (DA) solitary waves are investigated in a magnetized dusty plasma comprising cold dust fluid and kappa-distributed ions and/or electrons. The influence of suprathermal particles, obliqueness, and ion temperature on the DA solitary waves is investigated. We find that only negative DA solitary waves will be excited in this model. Also it is shown that the amplitude of the DA solitary wave decreases with deviation of electrons or ions from Maxwellian distribution via decrease of κ e or κ i . The effect of the temperature of the ion decreases with the amplitude and steepness of the solitary wave front.  相似文献

The formation and propagation of dust-acoustic (DA) solitary and rogue waves are studied in a non-relativistic degenerate Thomas-Fermi thermal dusty plasma incorporating transverse velocity perturbation effects. The electrons and ions are described by the Thomas-Fermi density distributions, whereas the dust grains are taken as dynamic and classical. By using the reductive perturbation technique, the cylindrical Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (CKP) equation is derived, which is then transformed into a Korteweg-deVries (KdV) equation by using appropriate variable transformations. The latter admits a solitary wave solution. However, when the carrier waves frequency is much smaller than the dust plasma frequency, the DA waves evolve into the nonlinear modulation instability, generating modulated wave packets in the form of Rogue waves. For the study of DA-rogue waves, the KdV equation is transformed into a self-focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The variation of dust temperature and the electron density affects the nonlinearity and dispersion coefficients which suppress the amplitudes of the DA solitary and rogue waves. The present results aim to describe the nonlinear electrostatic excitations in astrophysical degenerate dense plasma.  相似文献

The time fractional modified KdV, the so-called TFMKdV equation is solved to study the nonlinear propagation of the dust acoustic (DA) solitary waves in un-magnetized four components dusty plasma. This plasma consists of positively charged warm adiabatic dust, negatively charged cold dust, non-isothermal electrons and Maxwellian ions. The TFMKdV equation is derived by using semi-inverse and Agrawal’s method and solved by the Laplace Adomian decomposition method (LADM). The effects of the time fractional order (β), the ratio of dust to ion temperature (δ d ), the time (τ), the mass and charge ratio (α), the non-isothermal parameter (γ) and wave velocity (v) on the DA solitary wave are studied. Our results show that the variations of the amplitude of DA solitary wave versus (γ) are in agreement with the results obtained previously. Moreover, the time fractional order plays a role of higher order perturbation in modulating the soliton shape. The achievements of this research for the DA solitary waves may be applicable in space plasma environments and laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

It is shown that the three-dimensional cylindrical Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (CKP) and the extended cylindrical Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (ECKP) equations can describe the propagation of nonplanar dust ion-acoustic excitations in a dusty plasma composed of positive ions, negative ions, stationary dust particles, as well as trapped electrons or a small percentage of trapped electrons. It is found that the solution of the CKP equation supports only solitary pulses, while the ECKP equation describes the propagation of both solitary and shock excitations. The effects of physical parameters, namely negative ions density, dust grains density, positive-to-negative mass ratio, direction cosine of the wave propagation on the pulses profile are examined. Furthermore, the existence regions of either localized or shock pulses are investigated. The relevance of nonlinear structures in the Earth’s ionosphere and plasma experiment is discussed.  相似文献

The properties of small but finite amplitude dust acoustic (DA) shock waves are studied in a charge varying dusty plasma with ions and electrons having kappa velocity distribution. We obtain the global Debye length including the influence of suprathermality effects and dust charge fluctuations. It is shown that the effects of suprathermality of ions/electrons and dust charge fluctuation significantly modify the basic properties of DA shock wave. We observe that only negative DA shock waves will be excited in this model. The amplitude of DA shock wave increases with deviation of electrons or ions from Maxwellian distribution via decrease of spectral index, κ j (j=i,e denotes, ions and electrons, respectively). Also, it is indicated that the amplitude and steepness of the shock front decreases with an increase in the ion temperature.  相似文献

Making use of the Sagdeev pseudo-potential approach, we derive the energy like equation for dust-acoustic (DA) solitary waves in a complex plasma having negatively charged cold dust, and electrons/ions featuring the Tsallis distribution. The effects of electron and ion nonextensivity on the DA soliton profile are examined. It is shown that depending on the strength of particle nonextensivity, our plasma model may admit compressive as well as rarefactive DA solitary waves. Our results complement previously published results on this problem.  相似文献

Nonlinear dust acoustic (DA) shock waves are studied in a nonextensive charge varying complex plasma. A burger-like equation the coefficients of which is significantly modified by nonextensivity and dust charge fluctuation is derived. It is found that the influence of particle (electrons and ions) nonextensivity and dust charge fluctuation affect the basic properties of the collisionless DA shock wave drastically.  相似文献

Nonlinear properties of the dust acoustic (DA) solitary waves in a dusty plasma consisting of negatively variable-charged dust particles, vortex-like distributed ions and two-temperature isothermal electrons are reported. A reductive perturbation theory has been used to derive a modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation for the first-order perturbed potential and a linear inhomogeneous mKdV-type equation for the second-order perturbed potential. The renormalization method is used to obtain stationary solutions of these coupled equations. The modifications in the amplitude and width of the solitary wave structure due to the inclusion of two different types of isothermal electrons, external oblique magnetic field, higher-order nonlinearity, and vortex-like distributed ions are investigated. Also a method based on energy consideration was used to obtain the stability condition. Moreover, the numerical results are applied to investigate some nonlinear characteristics of the DA solitary waves.  相似文献

Dust acoustic (DA) solitary wave existence conditions are investigated for positively charged dust particles in the presence of nonthermal electrons. Once Sagdeev pseudo-potential derived through fluid equations, for large amplitude DA waves, the lower limit on Mach number is calculated analytically using the necessary condition for the solitary waves existence. The double layers conditions provides the upper limit on Mach number. This allowed us to numerically investigate the effect of the temperature, density and nonthermal parameters on the solitary waves’ characteristics. The present study is devoted to a complex plasma subject to ultraviolet radiations such as the one in the lower earth’s ionosphere.  相似文献

The basic features of planar and nonplanar time-dependent dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary waves (SWs) and double layers (DLs) have been studied in an unmagnetized dusty plasma system consisting of positively and negatively charged dust, Boltzmann distributed ions and superthermal electrons (represented by kappa distribution). Using the reductive perturbation technique (RPT) we have derived modified Gardner (MG) equation, which gives information beyond the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) limits (corresponding to the vanishing of nonlinear coefficient of the KdV equation). It is seen that the properties of nonplanar DIA SWs and DLs are significantly differs as the value of spectral index kappa (κ) changes. The present investigation may have relevance in the study of propagation of DIA waves in space and laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

The fluid approach is employed to investigate theoretically the effect of strong electrostatic interaction on the dust acoustic (DA) shock waves near to the liquid-crystal phase transition in strongly coupled dusty plasma. The strong electrostatic interaction is modeled by effective electrostatic temperature which is considered as a dynamical variable. It is shown that the nonlinear evolution of dust acoustic shock waves in the present model is governed by a Burger equation, the coefficients in which are modified by strong coupling effect. Then, it is shown that how the perturbation of the effective electrostatic temperature modifies the basic properties of the DA shock waves.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made of propagating electrostatic waves in a four-component adiabatic dusty plasma, whose constituents are adiabatic electrons, adiabatic ions, adiabatic positively and as well as negatively charged warm dust. The basic features of the solitary structures in such a four-component adiabatic dusty plasma are studied by the reductive perturbation method. It is found that the presence of the positive dust component does not only significantly modify the basic properties of the solitary waves, but also causes the existence of the positive solitary potential structures, which is an interesting feature shown in an adiabatic dusty plasma with the dust of opposite polarity. It is also observed that the basic properties (polarity, speed, amplitude and width) of the DA SWs are significantly modified by the effects of adiabaticity (γ>1) of electrons, ions, negatively as well as positively charged warm dust. The present investigation can be of relevance to the electrostatic solitary structures observed in various dusty space plasma environments (viz. cometary tails, upper mesosphere, Jupiter’s magnetosphere, etc.).  相似文献

Nonlinear propagation of dust-acoustic (DA) waves in a magnetized dusty plasma, consisting of negatively charged mobile dust, Maxwellian ions and two distinct temperature nonextensive electrons (following nonextensive q-distribution each), has been studied and analyzed by deriving and solving the Korteweg-de-Vries (K-dV) equation. According to the outcomes of the investigation, the basic characteristics of the DA solitary profiles are found to be strongly modified by the external magnetic field, nonextensivity of the electrons and the respective number densities of the two species of electrons. The results of this investigation can be applied in both laboratory and astrophysical plasma scenarios for understanding the basic features of the localized electrostatic dust-acoustic solitary waves (DASWs).  相似文献

The problem of nonlinear localized dust acoustic (DA) is addressed in a plasma comprising positive ions, negative ions, and mobile negatively charged dust grains. We first consider the case when the grain charge remains constant and discuss later the case when the charge variations are self-consistently included. It is found that a relative increase of the positive ion density favors the propagation of the DA solitary waves, in the sense that the domain of their admissible Mach numbers enlarges. Furthermore, electronegativity makes the dust acoustic solitary structure more spiky. When the dust grain charge Q d is allowed to fluctuate, the latter is expressed in terms of the Lambert function and we take advantage of this transcendental function to investigate the variable charge DA solitary wave. Q d adopts a localized profile and becomes more negative as the number of charges Z (−) of the negative ion increases. The dust grains are found to be highly localized. This localization (accumulation) caused by a balance of the electrostatic forces acting on the dust grains becomes more effective for lower values of Z (−). An increase of Z (−) may lead to a local depletion of the negative ions from the region of the soliton’s localization. The results are useful to understand the salient features of localization of large amplitude dust acoustic waves in cosmic plasmas such as the ionospheric D-region and the mesosphere.  相似文献

Arbitrary amplitude dust acoustic waves (DAW’s) in two high energy-tail ion distributions are investigated. The electron number density has been assumed sufficiently depleted during the charging of the dust grains, on account of the attachment of the background plasma electrons on the surface of the dust grains. Our results reveal that under certain conditions, DA solitary waves with either negative or positive potential may be admitted. The high degree of suprathermalization of the relatively low temperature ion component favors the development of compressive localized structures. This behavior is preserved to a large extent in the small but finite amplitude regime. This means that the presence of additional relatively low temperature suprathermal ions does not only significantly modify the basic properties of DA structures, but also causes the existence of positive solitary potentials. This feature is completely new in a dusty plasma with two suprathermal ion components with widely disparate temperatures. Our results may be relevant to a number of space dusty plasma systems, particularly, the Saturn’s F-ring where electron depletion and suprathermality are thought to come into play.  相似文献

The modified Kodomtsev-Petviashvili-Burger (mKP-Burger) and Kodomtsev-Petviashvili-Burger equations are derived in strongly coupled dusty plasmas containing iso-nonthermal ions; Boltzmann distributed electrons and variable dust charge. We use reductive perturbation method and discuss on solitary waves and shock waves solutions of these equations.  相似文献
