To explore the dynamics of a test particle in the near-Mercury’s environment, the orbital motion of an orbiter around Mercury is considered. Different perturbing forces, namely the Mercurian gravity field, the solar radiation pressure, the solar wind and the coronal mass ejections, are taken into account. The order of magnitude of each perturbing term is assessed. The equations of motion in canonical representation are obtained. The Hamiltonian in terms of Hansen coefficients is expressed. A procedure for solution is presented. The short and long periodic terms are removed from the Hamiltonian and the solution is obtained. Long periodic perturbations on the orbital dynamics of an orbiter around Mercury due to the solar events are found as revealed by Eq. (26) in the text. Resonance cases are discussed and the different resonant inclinations are obtained. A procedure for the computation of the position and velocity is presented.  相似文献

Based on data for twelve recently discovered outer satellites of Saturn, we investigate their orbital evolution on long time scales. For our analysis, we use the previously obtained general solution of Hill’s double-averaged problem, which was refined for libration orbits, and numerical integration of the averaged system of equations in elements with allowance for Saturn’s orbital evolution. The following basic quantitative parameters of evolving orbits are determined: extreme eccentricities and inclinations, as well as circulation periods of the pericenter arguments and of the longitudes of the ascending nodes. For four new satellite orbits, we have revealed the libration pattern of variations in pericenter arguments and determined the ranges and periods of their variations. Based on characteristic features of the orbits of Saturn’s new satellites, we propose their natural classification.  相似文献

We consider the problem of calculating the Lyapunov time (the characteristic time of predictable dynamics) of chaotic motion in the vicinity of separatrices of orbital resonances in satellite systems. The primary objects of study are the chaotic regimes that have occurred in the history of the orbital dynamics of the second and fifth Uranian satellites (Umbriel and Miranda) and the first and third Saturnian satellites (Mimas and Tethys). We study the dynamics in the vicinity of separatrices of the resonance multiplets corresponding to the 3 : 1 commensurability of mean motions of Miranda and Umbriel and the multiplets corresponding to the 2 : 1 commensurability of mean motions of Mimas and Tethys. These chaotic regimes have most probably contributed much to the long-term orbital evolution of the two satellite systems. The equations of motion have been numerically integrated to estimate the Lyapunov time in models corresponding to various epochs of the system evolution. Analytical estimates of the Lyapunov time have been obtained by a method (Shevchenko, 2002) based on the separatrix map theory. The analytical estimates have been compared to estimates obtained by direct numerical integration.__________Translated from Astronomicheskii Vestnik, Vol. 39, No. 4, 2005, pp. 364–374.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Mel’nikov, Shevchenko.  相似文献

We describe an approximate numerical-analytical method for calculating the perturbations of the elements of distant satellite orbits. The model for the motion of a distant satellite includes the solar attraction and the eccentricity and ecliptic inclination of the orbit of the central planet. In addition, we take into account the variations in planetary orbital elements with time due to secular perturbations. Our work is based on Zeipel’s method for constructing the canonical transformations that relate osculating satellite orbital elements to the mean ones. The corresponding transformation of the Hamiltonian is used to construct an evolution system of equations for mean elements. The numerical solution of this system free from rapidly oscillating functions and the inverse transformation from the mean to osculating elements allows the evolution of distant satellite orbits to be studied on long time scales on the order of several hundred or thousand satellite orbital periods.  相似文献

A new nonsingular analytical theory for the motion of near Earth satellite orbits with the air drag effect is developed for long term motion in terms of the KS uniformly regular canonical elements by a series expansion method, by assuming the atmosphere to be symmetrically spherical with constant density scale height. The series expansions include up to third order terms in eccentricity. Only two of the nine equations are solved analytically to compute the state vector and change in energy at the end of each revolution, due to symmetry in the equations of motion. Numerical comparisons of the important orbital parameters semi major axis and eccentricity up to 1000 revolutions, obtained with the present solution, with KS elements analytical solution and Cook, King-Hele and Walker's theory with respect to the numerically integrated values, show the superiority of the present solution over the other two theories over a wide range of eccentricity, perigee height and inclination.  相似文献

Theory of the motion of an artificial Earth satellite   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
An improved analytical solution is obtained for the motion of an artificial Earth satellite under the combined influences of gravity and atmospheric drag. The gravitational model includes zonal harmonics throughJ 4, and the atmospheric model assumes a nonrotating spherical power density function. The differential equations are developed through second order under the assumption that the second zonal harmonic and the drag coefficient are both first-order terms, while the remaining zonal harmonics are of second order.Canonical transformations and the method of averaging are used to obtain transformations of variables which significantly simplify the transformed differential equations. A solution for these transformed equations is found; and this solution, in conjunction with the transformations cited above, gives equations for computing the six osculating orbital elements which describe the orbital motion of the satellite. The solution is valid for all eccentricities greater than 0 and less than 0.1 and all inclinations not near 0o or the critical inclination. Approximately ninety percent of the satellites currently in orbit satisfy all these restrictions.  相似文献

This paper presents a Hamiltonian approach to modelling spacecraft motion relative to a circular reference orbit based on a derivation of canonical coordinates for the relative state-space dynamics. The Hamiltonian formulation facilitates the modelling of high-order terms and orbital perturbations within the context of the Clohessy–Wiltshire solution. First, the Hamiltonian is partitioned into a linear term and a high-order term. The Hamilton–Jacobi equations are solved for the linear part by separation, and new constants for the relative motions are obtained, called epicyclic elements. The influence of higher order terms and perturbations, such as Earth’s oblateness, are incorporated into the analysis by a variation of parameters procedure. As an example, closed-form solutions for J2-invariant orbits are obtained.  相似文献

The dynamics of near-Earth asteroids near mean motion resonances with the Earth or other planets is considered. The probability domains of the motion of some near-Earth asteroids close to low-order resonances are presented. The investigations have been carried out by means of a numerical integration of differential equations, taking into account the perturbations from the major planets and the Moon. For each investigated object an ensemble of 100 test particles with orbital elements nearby those of the nominal orbit has been constructed and its evolution has been retraced over the time interval (–3000, +3000 years). The initial set of orbits has been generated on the basis of probable variations of the initial orbital elements obtained from the least square analysis of observations. This revised version was published online in October 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Reactive torques, due to anisotropic sublimation on a comet nucleus surface, produce slow variations of its rotation. In this paper the secular effects of this sublimation are studied. The general rotational equations of motion are averaged over unperturbed fast rotation around the mass center (Euler-Poinsot motion) and over the orbital comet motion. We discuss the parameters that define typical properties of the rotational evolution and discover different classifications of the rotational evolution. As an example we discuss some possible scenarios of rotational evolution for the nuclei of the comets Halley and Borrelly.  相似文献

This paper describes the results of studies of dynamical chaos in the problem of the orbital dynamics of asteroids near the 3 : 1 mean-motion resonance with Jupiter. Maximum Lyapunov characteristic exponents (MLCEs) are used as an indicator and a measure of the chaoticity of motion. MLCE values are determined for trajectories calculated by the numerical integration of equations of motion in the planar elliptical restricted three-body problem. The dependence of the MLCE on the problem parameters and on the initial data is analyzed. The inference is made that the domain of chaos in the phase space of the problem considered consists of two components of different nature. The values of the MLCEs observed for one of the components (namely, for the component corresponding to low-eccentricity asteroidal orbits) are compared to the theoretical estimates obtained within the framework of model of the resonance as a perturbed nonlinear pendulum.  相似文献

We study the long-term dynamics of a planetary system composed of a star and a planet. Both bodies are considered as extended, non-spherical, rotating objects. There are no assumptions made on the relative angles between the orbital angular momentum and the spin vectors of the bodies. Thus, we analyze full, spatial model of the planetary system. Both objects are assumed to be deformed due to their own rotations, as well as due to the mutual tidal interactions. The general relativity corrections are considered in terms of the post-Newtonian approximation. Besides the conservative contributions to the perturbing forces, there are also taken into account non-conservative effects, i.e., the dissipation of the mechanical energy. This dissipation is a result of the tidal perturbation on the velocity field in the internal zones with non-zero turbulent viscosity (convective zones). Our main goal is to derive the equations of the orbital motion as well as the equations governing time-evolution of the spin vectors (angular velocities). We derive the Lagrangian equations of the second kind for systems which do not conserve the mechanical energy. Next, the equations of motion are averaged out over all fast angles with respect to time-scales characteristic for conservative perturbations. The final equations of motion are then used to study the dynamics of the non-conservative model over time scales of the order of the age of the star. We analyze the final state of the system as a function of the initial conditions. Equilibria states of the averaged system are finally discussed.  相似文献

Anonlinear analytical theory of secular perturbations in the problem of the motion of a systemof small bodies around a major attractive center has been developed. Themutual perturbations of the satellites and the influence of the oblateness of the central body are taken into account in the model. In contrast to the classical Laplace-Lagrange theory based on linear equations for Lagrange elements, the third-degree terms in orbital eccentricities and inclinations are taken into account in the equations. The corresponding improvement of the solution turns out to be essential in studying the evolution of orbits over long time intervals. A program inC has been written to calculate the corrections to the fundamental frequencies of the solution and the third-degree secular perturbations in orbital eccentricities and inclinations. The proposed method has been applied to investigate the motion of the major Uranian satellites. Over time intervals longer than 100 years, allowance for the nonlinear terms in the equations is shown to give corrections to the coordinates of Miranda on the order of the orbital eccentricity, which is several thousand kilometers in linear measure. For other satellites, the effect of allowance for the nonlinear terms turns out to be smaller. Obviously, when a general analytical theory of motion for the major Uranian satellites is constructed, the nonlinear terms in the equations for the secular perturbations should be taken into account.  相似文献

A new non-singular analytical theory for the motion of near Earth satellite orbits with the air drag effect is developed in terms of the Kustaanheimo and Stiefel (KS) uniformly regular canonical elements, by assuming the atmosphere to be oblate diurnally varying with constant density scale height. The series expansions include up to third-order terms in eccentricity and c (a small parameter dependent on the flattening of the atmosphere). Only two of the nine equations are solved analytically to compute the state vector and change in energy at the end of each revolution, due to symmetry in the equations of motion. Numerical comparisons of the important orbital parameters semimajor axis and eccentricity up to 1000 revolutions, obtained with the present solution, with the third-order analytical theories of Swinerd and Boulton and in terms of the KS elements, with respect to the numerically integrated values, show the superiority of the present solution over the other two theories over a wide range of eccentricity, perigee height and inclination.  相似文献

We present the results of our systematic study of the long-period orbital evolution of all of the outer Saturnian, Uranian, and Neptunian satellites known to date. The plots of the orbital elements against time give a clear idea of the pattern of the orbital evolution of each satellite. The tabular data allow us to estimate the basic parameters of the evolving orbits, including the ranges of variation in the semimajor axes, eccentricities, and ecliptical inclinations as well as the variation periods and mean motions of the arguments of pericenters and the longitudes of the nodes. We compare the results obtained by numerically integrating the rigorous equations of the perturbed motion of the satellites with the analytical and numerical-analytical results. The satellite orbits with a librational pattern of variation in the arguments of pericenters are set apart.  相似文献

The orbital evolution of the near-Earth asteroid (NEA) 30825 1990 TG1 has been studied by numerical integration of the equations of its motion over the 100 000-year time interval with allowance for perturbations from eight major planets and Pluto, and the variations in its osculating orbit over this time interval were determined. The numerical integrations were performed using two methods: the Bulirsch-Stoer method and the Everhart method. The comparative analysis of the two resulting orbital evolutions of motion is presented for the time interval examined. The evolution of the asteroid motion is qualitatively the same for both variants, but the rate of evolution of the orbital elements is different. Our research confirms the known fact that the application of different integrators to the study of the long-term evolution of the NEA orbit may lead to different evolution tracks.  相似文献

The results of determination of orbital elements of comet 35P/Herschel–Rigollet on the basis of the angular measurements in two observed apparitions are presented. An analysis of the problem showed some essential peculiarities, which have not been taken into account previously and have inhibited its solution. The estimates of the accuracy of the obtained solution showed that the new system of orbital elements of the comet allows one to predict its motion most accurately.  相似文献

Herein we investigate the coupled orbital and rotational dynamics of two rigid bodies modelled as polyhedra, under the influence of their mutual gravitational potential. The bodies may possess any arbitrary shape and mass distribution. A method of calculating the mutual potential’s derivatives with respect to relative position and attitude is derived. Relative equations of motion for the two body system are presented and an implementation of the equations of motion with the potential gradients approach is described. Results obtained with this dynamic simulation software package are presented for multiple cases to validate the approach and illustrate its utility. This simulation capability is useful both for addressing questions in dynamical astronomy and for enabling spacecraft missions to binary asteroid systems.  相似文献

A modified method for averaging the perturbing function in Hill’s problem is suggested. The averaging is performed in the revolution period of the satellite over the mean anomaly of its motion with a full allowance for a variation in the position of the perturbing body. At its fixed position, the semimajor axis of the satellite orbit during the revolution of the satellite is constant in view of the evolution equations, while the remaining orbital elements undergo secular and long-period perturbations. Therefore, when the motion of the perturbing body is taken into account, the semimajor axis of the satellite orbit undergoes the strongest perturbations. The suggested approach generalizes the averaging method in which only the linear (in time) term is included in the perturbing function. This method requires no expansion in powers of time. The described method is illustrated by calculating the perturbations of the semimajor axes for two distant satellites of Saturn, S/2000 S 1 and S/2000 S5. An approximate analytic solution is compared with the results of numerical integration of the averaged system of equations of motion for these satellites.  相似文献

We consider an algorithm to construct averaged motion equations for four-planetary systems by means of the Hori–Deprit method. We obtain the generating function of the transformation, change-variable functions and right-hand sides of the equations of motion in elements of the second Poincaré system. Analytical computations are implemented by means of the Piranha echeloned Poisson processor. The obtained equations are to be used to investigate the orbital evolution of giant planets of the Solar system and various extrasolar planetary systems.  相似文献

Evolution of Comet Nucleus Rotation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The secular evolution of comet nucleus rotation states subject to outgassing torques is studied. The dynamical model assumes that the nucleus inertia ellipsoid is axially symmetric. The outgassing torques acting on the surface are modeled using standard cometary activity formulae. The general rotational equations of motion are derived and separately averaged over the fast rotational dynamics terms and the comet orbit. Special cases where the averaging assumptions cannot be applied are evaluated separately. The modification of the comet orbit due to comet outgassing is neglected. Resulting from this analysis is a system of secular differential equations that describes the dynamics of the comet nucleus angular momentum and rotation state. We find that the qualitative secular evolution of the rotation state is controlled by a single parameter that combines parameters related to the comet orbit and parameters related to the nucleus surface geometry and activity. From this solution, we find qualitatively different evolutionary paths for comet nuclei whose entire surface is active, as compared to nuclei with only a single active region. For surface activity models between these extremes, we show that certain evolutionary paths are more likely than others. Additionally, our solution indicates that a comet nucleus' rotational angular momentum will tend to increase over time, potentially contributing to the observed phenomenon of comet nucleus splitting.  相似文献
