桌面地图信息系统的现状与发展

桌面地图信息系统是在传统GIS的基础上发展起来的一种GIS小型应用平台，并大规模地应用于企业与政府职能部门，本文在分析桌面地图信息系统与GIS的关系。桌面地图信息系统的作用与功能的基础上，论述了桌面地图信息系统的今后4个主要发展趋势。     

佛山市旅游信息系统开发

基于地理信息系统和多媒体集成的旅游信息系统开发模式可以融合GIS软件和多媒体软件二者的优点，在实践应用中有巨大的推广应用价值。文中从理论上探讨了GIS库中多媒体信息的链接和表达问题，以关系数据库为核心，把多媒体文件名信息存储在信息系统属库，依靠多媒体字段实现多媒体数据与地理信息系统图形和属性的关联，实现查询的基本概念。以此思路，佛山科技学院GIS技术实验室利用VB进行GIS和多媒体二次开发，成功地完成了佛山旅游信息系统的设计和开发。     

流域水土资源信息系统的构建

该文分析基于GIS，RS和地学模型集成的流域水土资源信息系统的开发背景，目标，结合实际系统的开发，提出了系统开发的思路和技术路线，并探讨系统开发的方向和实际应用的可能性。     

地籍管理信息系统制图研究

该文通过分析当前地籍管理系统在制图方面存在的问题及其原因，研究了空间数据库技术和工作流管理技术在地籍管理信息系统制图中的应用，并研究了基于GIS技术的地理数据可视化原理和基于GIS的数字地图制图实现过程。在此基础上，进一步探讨基于以上技术的地籍管理信息系统的基本框架及地籍制图的实现。

GIS技术支持下市级环境信息系统的建设

本文以福州市环境系统为例，论述运用GIS技术进行二次开发，将空间信息技术、数据仓库、数据挖掘等融于环境信息系统中，探讨该系统如何为环境管理提供支持。     

城市环境保护信息系统结构框架研究

随着城市化进程的加快,城市人口增加,城市环境保护成为城市关注的焦点.充分利用计算机技术、地理信息系统技术有利于提高城市环境保护规划及管理水平.结合城市环境保护局的工作内容及实质,提出了基于办公自动化、管理信息系统、网站发布系统、GIS可视化信息系统的城市环境保护信息系统的结构框架,并对系统框架的构成、信息流程、服务和应用模式进行了论述,探讨了基于WEB GIS的信息系统应用的系统数据体系以及基础地理信息系统、图文一体化、空间分析、决策支持等系统功能.     

ArcView平台下西双版纳纳板河自然保护区可持续发展信息系统的设计与开发

ArcView是美国ESRI公司研制的基于窗口的集成GIS系统，它以其强大的功能为GIS应用提供了一个有伸缩性的软件平台和二次开发环境。Avenue正是基于这一平台的面向对象的程序设计语言，具有多种用途。文章介绍了基于ArcView平台的西双版纳纳板河自然保护区可持续发展信息系统（NRSDIS）的设计思想、系统结构；探讨了系统界面设计和系统功能开发的主要内容以及如何在ArcView环境下建立该系统的具体实现方法，希望其在自然保护现代化管理中得到广泛应用。     

论城市图文办公信息系统的设计

城市管理部门的图文办公信息系统是“数字城市”的主要内容之一，该文以城市规划与土地管理部门为例，分析当前这些部门在资料管理与查询，业务办公效率，计算机应用效果等方面普遍存在的一些问题，并提出了集GIS与办公自动化（OA）为一体的可业务化运作的“城市图文办公信息系统”，亦即基于GIS的CSCW（Computer Supported Collaborated Work)系统的解决方案，提出了系统设计目标及系统实施的主要步骤；讨论了系统设计的几个关键技术并提出建议。     

基于3维GIS的地热资源管理信息系统

基于3维GIS（地理信息系统）技术，借鉴2维GIS领域较为成熟的理论和技术，根据地下热水资源管理的要求，设计了地热资源管理信息系统。系统具有数据库管理、日常办公管理、2维分析与可视化、面3维分析与可视化和体3维分析与可视化5个模块。

Deserts and Aeolian Desertification in China: Book review and some thoughts

Desertification is a global phenomenon that affects about two billion people. It occurs in arid zones where the annual precipitation is below 400 mm, partic- ularly in the marginal areas of the world＇s largest deserts. It is a result of water and wind erosion, over- grazing, global warm-ing, improper soil cultivation, and increased pressure ot population growth, and it causes degradation of soil and natural and agricultural vegetation. The direct result is less food for people and livestock, which influences pop- ulation and animal husbandry fluctuations. Despite ef- forts to combat and reduce desertification, the affected areas are annually increasing.

Sciences in Cold and Arid Regions （SCAR） is a bimonthly journal that publishes in English the latest research achievements in processes and the pattems of the Earth surface system in cold and arid regions. Researches in cold regions emphasize particularly on the cold-region-characterized physical,
