The ∼20 m thick coarse-grained clastic succession in the basal part of Palaeoproterozoic Par Formation, Gwalior Group has been investigated using process-based sedimentology and deductive palaeohydraulics. Bounded between granitic basement at its base and shallow marine succession at the top, the studied stratigraphic interval represents products of an alluvial fan and its strike-wise co-existent braided river system that possibly acted as a tributary for the fan. Detailed facies, facies association analysis allowed identification of two anatomical parts for the fan system viz. proximal and mid fan. While thin proximal fan is represented by products of rock avalanche and hyperconcentrated flows with widely varying rheology, the mid fan is represented by products of sheet floods and flows within streamlets. The interpretation found support from palaeoslope estimation carried out on the fluvial part of the mid fan that plot dominantly within the alluvial fan field demarcated by Blair and McPherson (1994). Dry climatic condition suggested from dominance of stream flow over mass flow deposition within the Par alluvial fan. Strike-wise, the fan is discontinuous and juxtaposed with a braid plain system. In contrast to the fluvial part of fan system, the palaeoslope data from the braid plain system dominantly plot within the ‘natural depositional gap’ defined by Blair and McPherson. A raised palaeoslope for the river systems, as suggested from Proterozoic braid plain deposits around the Globe, is found valid for the Par braid plain system as well. From preponderance of granular and sandy sediments within the alluvial fan and braid plain systems and a pervasive north-westward palaeocurrent pattern within the fluvial systems the present study infers a gently sloping bevelled source area in the south-southeast of the basin with occurrence of steep cliffs only locally.  相似文献

Based on a detailed sedimentological analysis of Lower Triassic continental deposits in the western Germanic sag Basin (i.e. the eastern part of the present‐day Paris Basin: the ‘Conglomérat basal’, ‘Grès vosgien’ and ‘Conglomérat principal’ Formations), three main depositional environments were identified: (i) braided rivers in an arid alluvial plain with some preserved aeolian dunes and very few floodplain deposits; (ii) marginal erg (i.e. braided rivers, aeolian dunes and aeolian sand‐sheets); and (iii) playa lake (an ephemeral lake environment with fluvial and aeolian sediments). Most of the time, aeolian deposits in arid environments that are dominated by fluvial systems are poorly preserved and particular attention should be paid to any sedimentological marker of aridity, such as wind‐worn pebbles (ventifacts), sand‐drift surfaces and aeolian sand‐sheets. In such arid continental environments, stratigraphic surfaces of allocyclic origin correspond to bounding surfaces of regional extension. Elementary stratigraphic cycles, i.e. the genetic units, have been identified for the three main continental environments: the fluvial type, fluvial–aeolian type and fluvial/playa lake type. At the time scale of tens to hundreds of thousands of years, these high‐frequency cycles of climatic origin are controlled either by the groundwater level in the basin or by the fluvial siliciclastic sediment input supplied from the highland. Lower Triassic deposits from the Germanic Basin are preserved mostly in endoreic basins. The central part of the basin is arid but the rivers are supplied with water by precipitation falling on the remnants of the Hercynian (Variscan)–Appalachian Mountains. Consequently, a detailed study of alluvial plain facies provides indications of local climatic conditions in the place of deposition, whereas fluvial systems only reflect climatic conditions of the upstream erosional catchments.  相似文献

根据大量的钻井和露头资料,对塔里木盆地早白垩世沉积相特征和古地理进行了研究。塔里木盆地下白垩统主要发育冲积扇-扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲、氧化宽浅湖泊等3种沉积体系,包括陆相冲(洪)积扇、扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲、滨浅湖等沉积相,分布于下白垩统不同层位。塔里木盆地早白垩世主要包括塔东北和塔西南两大沉积区,总体为干旱氧化的内陆拗陷分割盆地。在塔东北沉积大区,早白垩世早期卡普沙良群沉积物受周缘4大物源区控制,为多物源的氧化宽浅湖盆环境,古地势呈“南高北低、东高西低”,盆地边缘以冲(洪)积扇、扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲相为主,盆地内部为滨浅湖亚相。早白垩世晚期巴什基奇克组沉积时期,塔里木盆地周缘进入一个新的构造活动期,古气候更加炎热干旱,氧化宽浅湖盆消失。在塔东北沉积大区,盆地受周缘4个主要物源区影响,以广泛分布的冲积扇-辫状河三角洲沉积体系占主体,盆地内部普遍为辫状河三角洲前缘-滨浅湖亚相沉积。在塔西南沉积大区,早白垩世克孜勒苏群沉积时期古地势呈“东高西低”,受北部喀什北山前和西南部古昆仑山2个物源区的控制,沉积物沿古昆仑山前呈狭长的条带状分布,沉积厚度自西向东减薄,主要是一套冲积扇-扇三角洲相和滨浅湖亚相沉积。  相似文献

准噶尔盆地车排子凸起新近系沙湾组为湖盆缓坡多物源、复杂沉积体系沉积,其沉积体系认识争议很大,时空演化难以刻画.准确刻画其沉积体系类型、演化规律和砂体分布特征,是精细刻画单砂体及内部构型等储层的基石,对后期油气开发具有重要指导意义.在岩心、测井、测试分析及地震资料,充分利用相位转换、地层切片等地震沉积学技术方法,对其沉积体系特征进行深入研究.建立研究区精细层序地层格架,将沙湾组划分为2个三级层序、4个四级层序;识别出冲积扇、辫状河、曲流河、曲流河三角洲、扇三角洲及滨浅湖6种沉积体系类型,并确定沉积体系边界及演化规律;建立了多物源冲积扇-辫状河、扇三角洲-曲流河三角洲沉积模式及砂体分布模式.辫状河道、心滩、点坝复合体及冲积扇砂体均钻遇较好油气显示,为重要储集体.此次研究丰富了地震沉积学在湖盆缓坡多物源、多沉积体系类型中的应用.   相似文献

Palaeohydraulic estimates have been made using time-tested standard empirical formula involving channel dimensions, especially channel depth, in four Indian Proterozoic fluvial formations. These are the Mesoproterozoic Ramdurg, younger Mesoproterozoic Muchkundi and Neoproterozoic Cave Temple Arenite in Karnataka, and Upper Rewa Sandstone in central India. The basic data came from direct measurement of decompacted thicknesses of completely preserved channel-fills or bedforms, and more commonly of cross-sets. The result, in combination with data derived by others in a similar way from a few other Precambrian fluvial formations helps to provide a new insight into the palaeohydraulics of Precambrian rivers.River gradients appear to have been steeper during the Precambrian; the possibly continuous range of variation in river gradients from alluvial fans to the plains, as a whole shifted to higher values during the Precambrian epoch. The likely reason is a greater possibility of sediment bypassing on vegetation-free land. Concomitant downstream increase in discharge was enhanced in Precambrian rivers due to lack of withdrawal of groundwater through biogenic activity. Precambrian rivers were commonly ephemeral, but downstream the ephemerality index was reduced and some rivers might have been perennial where they debouched into standing bodies of water. The Precambrian river deposits studied generally had smaller width and depth with respect to Phanerozoic and modern rivers, possibly due to unstable substratum causing surface run-off tended to be impelled along multiple independent minor channels.  相似文献

赞比亚东北部姆波洛科索盆地古元古代姆波洛科索群是研究早前寒武纪河流相、浅海相沉积序列和基底组分的重要地层单元。本文通过对该地区岩石地层组成、沉积时代与沉积环境方面进行研究及系统总结,并结合对该地区姆巴拉组实测剖面及其碎屑岩岩石学和地球化学分析数据,获得以下认识:姆波洛科索群可能形成于1860 Ma之后,其上覆卡萨马群可能形成于1434 Ma之后;姆波洛科索盆地沉积环境主要包括:辫状河、冲积扇、湖泊以及浅海等;姆波洛科索群底部姆巴拉组碎屑岩以班委乌卢地块基底花岗岩为主要物源,形成于被动大陆边缘构造背景之下;姆波洛科索盆地可能属于被动大陆边缘型盆地;化探分析数据显示盆地东部与北部地区分别具有金、铀找矿潜力。  相似文献

An understanding of fluvial-aeolian deposition derived from modern case-examples in a previous study is applied to the Permian Cutler Formation and Cedar Mesa Sandstone on the Colorado Plateau. These formations supply an excellent three-dimensional exposure of intertonguing fluvial and aeolian strata. Four distinct facies associations form the bulk of the Cutler Formation and Cedar Mesa Sandstone: (1) aeolian dune deposits; (2) wet interdune deposits; (3) fluvial channel deposits; and (4) overbank-interdune deposits. In addition, two distinctive types of erosion surfaces are found within the Cutler Formation and Cedar Mesa Sandstone: pebble- to granule-rich erosion surfaces (aeolian deflation surfaces) and flood surfaces. Fluvial and aeolian intertonguing result in extensive tabular sheets of aeolian sandstone separated by flood surfaces and overbank-interdune deposits. Fluvial channels are associated with the deposits overlying flood surfaces and are incised into the underlying aeolian sandstones. Overbank-interdune deposits and wet interdune deposits cover flood surfaces and intertongue with overlying aeolian sandstones. The primary characteristics of ancient fluvial-aeolian deposition are overbank-interdune deposits and pronounced extensive erosion surfaces (flood surfaces), which are parallel to underlying fluvial sandstones and thus trend parallel to the palaeoslope and palaeohydrological gradient.  相似文献

The repetitive sedimentology of many Precambrian sheet‐dominated fluvial sandstones favoured their attribution to unconfined depositional processes. This article presents outcrop evidence for deep‐channelled drainage in the 1·9 Ga Burnside River Formation of Kilohigok Basin, Arctic Canada. On the ground, sheet‐like sandbodies with ubiquitous cross‐bedding are at first consistent with classic, unconfined depositional models. However, satellite and oblique‐aerial imagery of sections up to 15 km wide and 500 m thick reveals the occurrence of incised palaeovalleys hosting clustered, kilometre‐scale, channel bodies with attached large foreset bars pointing to downstream‐lateral accretion, sand sheets with aspect ratios (i.e. width to thickness) as high as 2500, and scattered aeolian intervals. The genetic association of these architectural elements points to aggradational fluvial piedmonts composed of low‐relief unit bars generated by braidplain channels several metres deep. Preservation of aeolianites was facilitated by fluctuating groundwater table and accommodation. Fluvial piedmonts were transected by weakly sinuous channel belts up to 25 m deep and characterized by through‐going or tributary planform. Aspect ratios comparable with those of late Palaeozoic to modern braided channels disprove the inference that all Precambrian streams readily widened in response to increased discharge. Previous facies models for large‐scale Precambrian sheet‐braided rivers failed to depict entire channel forms, possibly because they could not be resolved by ground‐based observations. Based on their limited geomorphic variability and abundance of architectural elements with very high aspect ratios, this study recommends that large sheet‐braided fluvial systems should still be considered separately from their post‐Silurian (i.e. vegetated) braided counterparts. Parallels between sheet‐braided and modern dryland rivers do not, however, reconcile with the deep, perennial, channelized processes described here. Yet, distal sand‐bed and perennial reaches of modern sandur plains remain the closest analogue to sheet‐braided rivers. This conjecture contradicts the assumption that all Precambrian rivers were prone to simulate seasonal behaviours independently from their actual climate regime.  相似文献

针对南苏丹Melut盆地Palogue油田Yabus组独特的辫状河—曲流河沉积体系,利用定量统计和成因动态分析方法,通过引入“微相砂体密度”变量,深入总结了辫状河和曲流河不同的垂向岩相序列,从空间演化角度详细阐述了辫状河和曲流河的差异沉积过程及其河型转化规律,建立了同一物源体系下不同阶段河型转化的沉积模式,并明确了河型转化的主控因素。研究表明: Yabus组河流沉积体系先后经历了3个演化阶段。早期辫状河形成阶段,沉积物顺流加积形成垂向沙坝;中期辫—曲交汇沉积阶段,河流下切作用明显减弱,河流沉积作用转变为侧向加积,在辫状河道中形成斜列砂坝,且辫流坝开始向河道边部迁移形成曲流河点坝;晚期曲流河发育阶段,河道弯度大且砂体沉积规模小。  相似文献

塔里木盆地库车坳陷与塔西南坳陷的白垩系沉积厚度大,岩石类型多,既有碎屑岩,又有蒸发岩和碳酸盐岩。沉积相类型丰富,包括海相、海陆交互相和陆相,并以陆相碎屑岩沉积为主。库车坳陷与塔西南坳陷在早白垩世虽为分隔性的沉积盆地,但其陆相碎屑沉积具有几乎相同的特征:均以冲积沉积体系发育为主,相带分布和储层发育具有明显的相似性。对应山前断陷盆地的不对称性,冲积扇-扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲沉积体系发育在靠近山前的陡坡一侧,正常河流三角洲沉积体系发育在湖盆缓坡一侧。冲积扇-扇三角洲沉积体系由冲积扇、扇三角洲平原、扇三角洲前缘等构成,辫状河三角洲沉积体系由辫状河三角洲平原、辫状河三角洲前缘等构成。储层主要发育于扇三角洲或辫状河三角洲的辫状河道、水下分流河道及分流河口砂坝中,在库车坳陷和塔西南坳陷都形成了优质的储集岩。砂体厚度大,分布广,储集条件好。冲积沉积体系的普遍发育预示了白垩系储集岩在盆地内的分布可能是十分广泛的。近年在喀什凹陷、英吉苏凹陷相继取得的勘探成果大大拓宽了其勘探领域,白垩系正逐渐成为盆地内主要的勘探目的层之一,展现了良好的勘探前景。  相似文献

根据柴达木盆地北缘露头剖面、钻井剖面的地层学和岩石学研究所取得的各种定量及定性资料,采用冯增昭教授倡导的单因素分析多因素综合作图法,编制了柴达木盆地北缘结绿素—红山地区古新统—始新统、渐新统和中新统的各种单因素图和沉积相图。这是首次将定量的沉积相研究方法应用于柴达木盆地的古新统至中新统。结绿素—红山地区古新统至中新统发育2种沉积相类型,即冲积扇和辫状河。其中辫状河可划分为砾质辫状河和砂质辫状河。古新世—始新世发育冲积扇—辫状河—湖泊沉积体系,渐新世—中新世发育辫状河—湖泊沉积体系。从古新世到中新世,柴达木盆地北缘经历了由大规模冲积扇沉积到辫状河沉积的演化过程。  相似文献

通过岩心观察与测井相分析,结合地震反射资料,认为塔里木盆地塔北地区侏罗系为冲积扇、辫 状河、三角洲与湖泊沉积体系。下侏罗统阳霞组主要发育冲积扇和辫状河沉积。其中冲积扇主要发育于盆地的 边缘,即研究区西部的英买力、北部的轮台及其西侧、东部的库南地区。冲积扇岩性主要为灰白、灰绿、灰褐 和紫红色块状砾岩、砾状砂岩及含砾砂岩,砾石成分复杂,分选差,磨圆程度低。多个冲积扇向盆地内演化为 辫状河沉积,发育各种交错层理与平行层理,其岩性为灰色、灰白色粗砂岩及含砾粗砂岩、细砾岩,垂向上具 有非常典型的下粗上细的 “ 二元结构” ,自然电位和自然伽马曲线具有明显的箱形特征,辫状河主体自西向东发 育。到阳霞组沉积晚期,在草湖地区演化为薄层细砂岩与泥岩互层的湖泊和含煤湖沼沉积;中侏罗统克孜勒努 尔组为三角洲沉积;上侏罗统普遍被剥蚀。早-中侏罗世盆地经历了水体由浅到深的沉积演化。  相似文献

A Pleistocene valley-fill alluvial succession deposited in the Kleszczów Graben, central Poland, has been studied in the Belchatów openpit mine. The succession, palynologically documented to represent the Drenthe/Warthe interstadial, consists of three alluvial complexes whose component lithofacies associations indicate a fluvial system evolving from temperate-climate meandering river to transitional-type shallow braided network, to periglacial well-developed braided river influenced by aeolian sand supply. The study suggests that the abundance of fine-grained overbank deposits, occurrence of peats/palaeosols and fining-upward cyclothems are diagnostic attributes of perennial meandering river alluvium, which may indicate temperate climatic conditions. Periglacial braided river alluvium is recognizable by an admixture of wind-derived sand grains with aeolian surface textures and by the occurrence of ice-wedge features, indicative of cold climatic conditions. The distinction between the two basic types of alluvium is aided by the analysis of architectural elements and palaeocurrent directional data. The study demonstrates that sedimentological facies analysis can be a useful tool for the recognition of palaeoclimatic changes in Pleistocene alluvial successions.  相似文献

滇西洱源县位于扬子地块西南缘丽江拗陷盆地南侧。在详细野外剖面测量和室内分析的基础上,对研究区下三叠统青天堡组地层的宏观特征(颜色、原生沉积构造)、物质组分、岩石结构及古生物特征等进行了系统研究,划分出冲积扇、河流、三角洲3类沉积相,并进一步划分出河道充填、三角洲前缘和前三角洲3个沉积亚相及辨状河道、洪泛平原、水下分流河道、分流河道间、河口砂坝、席状砂6个沉积微相。研究表明,军马场下三叠统青天堡组垂向上表现为冲积扇—河流—三角洲的退积型沉积特征,表明在早三叠世青天堡时期盐源-丽江盆地发生了大规模海侵,盆地水体加深,军马场地区经历了由陆相到海相的沉积演化序列。  相似文献

鄂尔多斯盆地延长组下部(长8-长10油层组)沉积特征与中、上部(长1-长7油层组)存在较大的差异。延长组下部沉积时,盆地西部和西南地区地形相对较平坦,以辫状河、辫状河三角洲及滨浅湖沉积为主,碎屑岩中化学性质不稳定的组分含量较高;长7沉积期,沉积格局发生重大变革,盆地西缘、西南缘地区发育冲积扇、扇三角洲沉积体系,拗陷幅度急剧增大,半深湖-深湖区范围可达10×10.4 km2以上,而且湖盆中心向西南迁移了几十公里,碎屑岩成分成熟度增高,岩矿组合具有显著的东西分异性。此外,从延长组凝灰岩的分布特征分析,长7底部沉凝灰岩分布稳定,为同期火山作用的产物,厚度由盆地西南向东北方向逐渐减薄至不发育。上述分析表明,长8沉积末期为湖盆沉积演化的重要转折期,盆地西缘和西南缘存在一次强烈的构造地质事件,火山活动频繁,为印支运动第一幕重要的表现形式。  相似文献

对于断陷盆地拗陷期远离滨岸的河流而言,其层序划分是层序地层学研究的难点。本研究在已有钻测井、岩心及地震资料分析基础上,以渤海湾盆地沙垒田凸起区新近系明化镇组下段(简称“明下段”)作为研究对象,将其划分为1个完整的三级层序、4个四级层序(即SQm1-SQm4)。沉积间断面、宽浅下切谷及复合连片砂体是该地区河流层序界面重要的识别标志。每个四级层序均由低可容空间和高可容空间体系域组成。地震地貌学定量分析表明,低可容空间体系有利于低弯度河流(辫状河、低弯度曲流河)发育,高可容空间体系域有利于中高弯度河流发育。新增可容空间和沉积物供给速率的变化对于河流不同体系域的砂体样式具有重要控制作用。  相似文献

应用层序地层学方法将川西前陆盆地上三叠统划分为4个三级层序和12个体系域。在层序格架内,研究了不同时期的古地理背景、物源、沉积类型和沉积相展布,明确了上三叠统存在龙门山古陆、米仓山-大巴山古陆、康滇古陆、江南古陆4个物源,识别出上三叠统海湾、冲积扇、曲流河、辫状河、扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲、曲流河三角洲和湖泊8种沉积相类型。层序Ⅰ沉积时期,盆地处于海陆交互相向陆相转变的时期,整体具有填平补齐的沉积特征,发育海湾等沉积;层序Ⅱ沉积时期,川西前陆盆地成为统一的内陆湖盆,其湖侵期为须家河期最大的湖侵期,主要发育三角洲沉积和湖相沉积;层序Ⅲ沉积时期,米仓山-大巴山古陆提供充足的物源,在米仓山-大巴山两逆冲推覆带前缘广泛发育大型冲积扇、辫状河、辫状河三角洲沉积体系;层序Ⅳ沉积时期,主要受江南古陆的影响,发育三角洲沉积和湖泊沉积。整体上,川西前陆盆地沉积相带的展布格局受构造控制,具有平行构造带展布的特点。盆地西北部陡坡带发育粗粒的冲积扇、扇三角洲-湖底扇,西南部陡坡带发育辫状河三角洲、北部-东北部陡坡带发育辫状河三角洲,而在东南部缓坡带则发育远源的曲流河、曲流河三角洲。  相似文献

The sequence classification is a difficulty of sequence stratigraphic study on rivers that are distal to coast area during the depression phase of rift basin. Based on the integrated analysis of logging,cores and seismic data,the case study shows that the Lower Member of Neogene Minghuazhen Formation in the Shaleitian Uplift area in the western Bohai Sea region corresponds to one complete third-order sequence which can be divided into four fourth-order sequences(i.e. SQm1-SQm4). Sedimentary hiatus,wide and shallow incised valley and amalgamated channel sand bodies are the main recognition of sequence boundaries in fluvial sequence stratigraphy of the study area. Each fourth-order sequence comprises low and high accommodation systems tracts. According to seismic sedimentological and quantitative geomorphological analysis,low-sinuosity rivers including braided river and low-sinuosity meandering river are well developed in the low accommodation systems tract,whereas the medium- to high-sinuosity meandering rivers are well preserved in the high accommodation systems tract. The change in the new creation of accommodation and the sediment supply exert a significant control on the stacked pattern within different systems tracts.  相似文献
