The northeastern Gangdese Pb–Zn–Ag–Fe–Mo–W polymetallic belt (NGPB), characterized by skarn and porphyry deposits, is one of the most important metallogenic belts in the Himalaya–Tibetan continental orogenic system. This belt extends for nearly four hundred kilometers along the Luobadui–Milashan Fault in the central Lhasa subterrane, and contains more than 10 large ore deposits with high potential for development. Three major types of mineralization system have been identified: skarn Fe systems, skarn/breccia Pb–Zn–Ag systems, and porphyry/skarn Mo–Cu–W systems. In this study, we conducted a whole-rock geochemical, U–Pb zircon geochronological, and in situ zircon Hf isotopic study of ore-forming rocks in the NGPB, specifically the Jiangga, Jiaduopule, and Rema skarn Fe deposits, and the Yaguila Pb–Zn–Ag deposit. Although some of these deposits (porphyry Mo systems) formed during the post-collisional stage (21–14 Ma), the majority (these three systems) developed during the main (‘soft collision’) stage of the India–Asia continental collision (65–50 Ma). The skarn Fe deposits are commonly associated with granodiorites, monzogranites, and granites, and formed between 65 and 50 Ma. The ore-forming intrusions of the Pb–Zn–Ag deposits are characterized by granite, quartz porphyry, and granite porphyry, which developed in the interval of 65–55 Ma. The ore-forming porphyries in the Sharang Mo deposit, formed at 53 Ma. The rocks from Fe deposits are metaluminous, and have relatively lower SiO2, and higher CaO, MgO, FeO contents than the intrusions associated with Mo and Pb–Zn–Ag mineralization, while the Pb–Zn–Ag deposits are peraluminous, and have high SiO2 and high total alkali concentrations. They all exhibit moderately fractionated REE patterns characterized by lower contents of heavy REE relative to light REE, and they are enriched in large-ion lithophile elements and relatively depleted in high-field-strength elements. Ore-forming granites from Fe deposits display 87Sr/86Sr(i) = 0.7054–0.7074 and εNd(t) =  4.7 to + 1.3, whereas rocks from the Yaguila Pb–Zn–Ag deposit have 87Sr/86Sr(i) = 0.7266–0.7281 and εNd(t) =  13.5 to − 13.3. In situ Lu–Hf isotopic analyses of zircons from Fe deposits show that εHf(t) values range from − 7.3 to + 6.6, with TDM(Hf)C model ages of 712 to 1589 Ma, and Yaguila Pb–Zn–Ag deposit has εHf(t) values from − 13.9 to − 1.3 with TDM(Hf)C model ages of 1216 to 2016 Ma. Combined with existing data from the Sharang Mo deposit, we conclude that the ore-forming intrusions associated with the skarn Fe and porphyry Mo deposits were derived from partial melting of metasomatized lithospheric mantle and rejuvenated lower crust beneath the central Lhasa subterrane, respectively. Melting of the ancient continental material was critical for the development of the Pb–Zn–Ag system. Therefore, it is likely that the source rocks play an important role in determining the metal endowment of intrusions formed during the initial stage of the India–Asia continental collision.  相似文献

In order to examine the precursory seismic quiescence of upcoming hazardous earthquakes, the seismicity data available in the vicinity of the Thailand–Laos–Myanmar borders was analyzed using the Region–Time–Length (RTL) algorithm based statistical technique. The utilized earthquake data were obtained from the International Seismological Centre. Thereafter, the homogeneity and completeness of the catalogue were improved. After performing iterative tests with different values of the \(r_{0}\) and \(t_{0}\) parameters, those of \(r_{0}\) = 120 km and \(t_{0}\) = 2 yr yielded reasonable estimates of the anomalous RTL scores, in both temporal variation and spatial distribution, of a few years prior to five out of eight strong-to-major recognized earthquakes. Statistical evaluation of both the correlation coefficient and stochastic process for the RTL were checked and revealed that the RTL score obtained here excluded artificial or random phenomena. Therefore, the prospective earthquake sources mentioned here should be recognized and effective mitigation plans should be provided.  相似文献

Results of geologic and geophysical modeling are presented, based on detailed seismic studies along two profiles—Pechenga-Kostomuksha and Lieksa-Lovisa. Density, geothermal, magnetic, and geoelectric models were obtained from the interpretations of various geophysical fields and correlated with the reference seismic sections. All the models were combined in order to compile a geologic-geophysical crustal section. The crustal thickness along the Pechenga-Kostomuksha-Lovisa geotraverse varies from 38 to 65 km. Two anomalous structures have been observed that are referred to as the Belomorian-Karelian and Ladoga-Bothnian zones. These zones are characterized by enhanced values of magnetic fields, presence of seismic foci and wave attenuation, and variation of the depth and magnitude of modern crustal movements. These zones are distinguished by the discontinuity M reconstruction, an increase in transitional layer thickness (to 25 km) at the base of the crust, and an increase in depth down to the discontinuity M (50 to 65 km). On average, the crust is thinner (40 km) in the ancient part of the shield than in the younger Svecofennian province (45 km). The velocity differences also are important: for example, the crust of the ancient shield is characterized by lower velocities and the transitional high-velocity layer is absent or thinner. The Karelian granite-greenstone area (a fragment of the Archean craton) has the most simple and balanced deep structure. Within the Karelian area, the layers are nearly horizontal and their thickness is rather constant. The northeastern part of a fragment of the Murmansk block has similar crustal characteristics within the Kola area, where it has undergone Early Proterozoic deformation. Geological and geophysical data for the Pechenga-Varzuga zone suggests that there was intracontinental rifting and a subsequent construction regime during the Svecofennian orogeny that involved a considerable part of the shield. The deep-crustal structure is more complicated to the south. An increase in volume of material with the properties of granulites and basic rocks is observed in the upper crust. The rocks form an inclined alternation of high-density and high-velocity plates and lenses. The packet of tectonic clustering of supracrustal rocks is most conspicuous in the Lapland-Kolvitsa granulite belt. The packet thickness does not exceed 13 km.  相似文献

The heavy metal contamination and seasonal variation of the metals in soils, plants and waters in the vicinity of an abandoned metalliferous mine in Korea were studied. Elevated levels of Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn were found in tailings with averages of 8.57, 481, 4,450 and 753 mg/kg, respectively. These metals are continuously dispersed downstream and downslope from the tailings by clastic movement through wind and water. Thus, significant levels of the elements in waters and sediments were found up to 3.3 km downstream from the mining site, especially for Cd and Zn. Enriched concentrations of heavy metals were also found in various plants grown in the vicinity of the mining area, and the metal concentrations in plants increased with those in soils. In a study of seasonal variation on the heavy metals in paddy fields, relatively high concentrations of heavy metals were found in rice leaves and stalks grown under oxidizing conditions rather than a reducing environment (P<0.05).  相似文献

The Linghou deposit, located near Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province, eastern China, is a medium-sized polymetallic sulfide deposit associated with granitic intrusion. This deposit is structurally and lithologically controlled and commonly characterized by ore veins or irregular ore lenses. In this deposit, two mineralization events were identified, of which the former produced the Cu–Au–Ag orebodies, while the latter formed Pb–Zn–Cu orebodies. Silicification and calc-silicate (skarn type), phyllic, and carbonate alternation are four principal types of hydrothermal alteration. The early Cu–Au–Ag and late Pb–Zn–Cu mineralizations are characterized by quartz ± sericite + pyrite + chalcopyrite + bornite ± Au–Ag minerals ± magnetite ± molybdenite and calcite + dolomite + sphalerite + pyrite + chalcopyrite + galena, respectively. Calcite clusters and calcite ± quartz vein are formed during the late hydrothermal stage.The NaCl–H2O–CO2 system fluid, coexisting with NaCl–H2O system fluid and showing the similar homogenization temperatures (385 °C and 356 °C, respectively) and different salinities (16.89–21.68 wt.% NaCl eqv. and 7.70–15.53 wt.% NaCl eqv.), suggests that fluid immiscibility occurred during the Cu–Au–Ag mineralization stage and might have given rise to the ore-metal precipitation. The ore-forming fluid of the Pb–Zn–Cu mineralization mainly belongs to the NaCl–H2O–CO2 system of high temperature (~ 401 °C) and mid-high salinity (10.79 wt.% NaCl eqv.).Fluids trapped in the quartz-chalcopyrite vein, Cu–Au–Ag ores, Pb–Zn–Cu ores and calcite clusters yielded δ18OH2O and δD values varying from 5.54‰ to 13.11‰ and from − 71.8‰ to − 105.1‰, respectively, indicating that magmatic fluids may have played an important role in two mineralization events. The δ13CPDB values of the calcite change from − 2.78‰ to − 4.63‰, indicating that the CO32  or CO2 in the ore-forming fluid of the Pb–Zn–Cu mineralization was mainly sourced from the magmatic system, although dissolution of minor marine carbonate may have also occurred during the ore-forming processes. The sulfide minerals have homogeneous lead isotopic compositions with 206Pb/204Pb ranging from 17.958 to 18.587, 207Pb/204Pb ranging from 15.549 to 15.701, and 208Pb/204Pb ranging from 37.976 to 39.052, indicating that metallic elements of the Linghou deposit came from a mixed source involving mantle and crustal components.Based on geological evidence, fluid inclusions, and H–O–C–S–Pb isotopic data, the Linghou polymetallic deposit is interpreted as a high-temperature, skarn-carbonate replacement type. Two types of mineralization are both related to the magmatic–hydrothermal system, with the Cu–Au–Ag mineralization having a close relationship with granodiorite.  相似文献

Careful measurements of temperature on the surface of autoclaves indicate that small temperature gradients (TG) occur in the standard electric furnaces. These gradients can affect the results of long-lasting (up to 775 days) experiments in the system quartz–water–vapor at 300°C. From the bottom of the autoclave to its top, the temperature decreased in the upper parts of the electric furnaces and increased in their lower parts (TG =–0.08 and 0.15°C/cm, respectively). In the upper parts of the electric furnaces, the concentration of dissolved silica (m) was close to the quartz solubility (10 mmol/kg), and no other changes took place, which is consistent with the currently conventionally admitted notion that quartz is stable under these conditions. In the lower parts of the electric furnaces, m decreased to 0.03 mmol/kg, and opal was precipitated on the walls of the capsules above the solution (the opal was transformed into secondary quartz with time). These data suggest that no equilibrium silica distribution between liquid and vapor water phases was reached. We have suggested and analyzed as wide as possible circle of hypotheses conceivably able to explain this unequilibrated state. The most realistic explanation of the phenomenon seems to be that distillation is initiated by preferable evaporation of the solution in its thin (<100 nm) layer at the meniscus edge. A mathematic model of the process is suggested. The model is consistent with experimental data. The phenomenon in question can be detected in various experimental and technological systems and hampers the attainment of complete equilibrium. In natural systems, this phenomenon can lead to the migration of cavities partly filled with solution at an inversion of the geothermal gradient (beneath sills and lava flows).  相似文献

An event-based depositional model for the Paleocene—Eocene sandy–clayey–siliceous deposits of the Russian Platform was proposed. The model was based on pulsational input of pyroclastic material and intrusion of sandy injectites. Tarim Precambrian bedrocks are well exposed in the Kuluketage and Aksu areas,where twenty four samples were taken to reveal the denudation history of the northern Tarim Craton.Apatite fission track dating and thermal history modeling suggest that the northern Tarim experienced multi-stage cooling events which were assumed to be associated with the distant effects of the Cimmerian orogeny and India-Eurasia collision in the past.But the first episode of exhumation in the northern Tarim,occurring in the mid-Permian to Triassic,is here suggested to be induced by docking of the Tarim Craton and final amalgamation of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt.The cooling event at ca.170 Ma may be triggered by the Qiangtang-Eurasia collision.Widespread Cretaceous exhumation could be linked with docking of the Lhasa terrane in the late Jurassic.Cenozoic reheating and recooling likely occurred because of the northpropagating stress,however,this has not affected the northern Tarim much because the Tarim is characterized by rigid block-like motion.  相似文献

The predictability of dangerous atmospheric phenomena such as tornado outbreaks has generally been limited to a week or less. However, recent work has demonstrated the importance of the Rossby wavetrain phasing over the United States in establishing outbreak-favorable environments. The predictability of Rossby wavetrain phasing is strongly related to numerous climate-scale interannual variability indices, which are predictable many months in advance. To formalize the relationship between interannual variability indices and seasonal tornado outbreak frequency, indices derived from monthly mean Northern Hemisphere 500-hPa and 1000-hPa geopotential height fields and Ni?o 3.4 indices for ENSO phase were compared to annual tornado outbreak seasonal frequencies. Statistical models predicting seasonal outbreak frequency were established using linear(stepwise multivariate linear regressione SMLR) and nonlinear(support vector regressione SVR) statistical modeling techniques.The stepwise methodology revealed predictors that are important in establishing outbreak-favorable environments at long lead times. Additionally, the results of the statistical modeling revealed that the nonlinear SVR technique reduced root mean square errors produced by the control SMLR technique by 28% and provided more consistent forecasts. A preliminary physical analysis revealed that years with high outbreak frequencies were associated with the presence of 500-mb troughs over the central and western US during the peak of outbreak season, while lower frequencies were consistent with ridging over the US or northwest flow over the Plains. These patterns support the results of the statistical modeling, which demonstrate the utility of geopotential height variability as a predictability measure of outbreak frequency.  相似文献

Seafloor polymetallic sulfide resources exhibit significant development potential.In 2011,China received the exploration rights for 10,000 km~2 of a polymetallic sulfides area in the Southwest Indian Ocean;China will be permitted to retain only 25%of the area in 2021.However,an exploration of seafloor hydrothermal sulfide deposits in China remains in the initial stage.According to the quantitative prediction theory and the exploration status of seafloor sulfides,this paper systematically proposes a quantitative prediction evaluation process of oceanic polymetallic sulfide resources and divides it into three stages:prediction in a large area,prediction in the prospecting region,and the verification and evaluation of targets.The first two stages of the prediction process have been employed in seafloor sulfides prospecting of the Chinese contract area.The results of stage one suggest that the Chinese contract area is located in the high posterior probability area,which indicates good prospecting potential area in the Indian Ocean.In stage two,the Chinese contract area of 48°-52° E has the highest posterior probability value,which can be selected as the reserved region for additional exploration.In stage three,the method of numerical simulation is employed to reproduce the ore-forming process of sulfides to verify the accuracy of the reserved targets obtained from the three-stage prediction.By narrowing the exploration area and gradually improving the exploration accuracy,the prediction will provide a basis for the exploration and exploitation of seafloor polymetallic sulfide resources.  相似文献

The intense study of coleopteran inclusions from Spanish(Albian in age) and French(Albian-Santonian in age) Cretaceous ambers,both of Laurasian origin,has revealed that the majority of samples belong to the Polyphaga suborder and,in contrast to the case of the compression fossils,only one family of Archostemata,one of Adephaga,and no Myxophaga suborders are represented.A total of 30 families from Spain and 16 families from France have been identified(with almost twice bioinclusions identified in Spain than in France);13 of these families have their most ancient representatives within these ambers.A similar study had previously only been performed on Lebanese ambers(Barremian in age and Gondwanan in origin),recording 36 coleopteran families.Few lists of taxa were available for Myanmar(Burmese) amber(early Cenomanian in age and Laurasian in origin).Coleopteran families found in Cretaceous ambers share with their modern relatives mainly saproxylic and detritivorous habits in the larval or adult stages,rather than wood-boring behavior.Fifteen of the coleopteran families occur in both the Lebanese and Spanish ambers;while only five are present in both Spanish and French.Considering the paleogeographic proximity and similarity of age of the Spanish and French ambers,the small number of taxa found in common at both areas is surprising.The ancient origin for the Lebanese and Spanish ambers,the paleogeography(including some barriers for terrestrial biota) and the local paleohabitats are factors that may explain the dissimilarity with the French specimens.Wildfires are believed to be a more likely cause of resin production during the Cretaceous than infestation by beetles.Current knowledge of the beetle species found in the Cretaceous ambers is introduced.  相似文献

The Lajeado Group in the Ribeira Belt,southeastern Brazil,corresponds to an open-sea carbonate platform,comprised of seven overlapping siliciclastic and carbonatic formations,intruded in its upper portion by the Apiai Gabbro.These rocks have a Neoproterozoic tectonometamorphic overprint related to arc magmatism and the Brasiliano collisional orogeny.Geochronological constraints are given by new UPb SHRIMP and LA-ICP-MS data for Lajeado Group detrital zircons and for magmatic zircons from the Apiai Gabbro.The youngest detrital zircons in the Lajeado Group are 1400-1200 Ma,and constrain its maximum age of deposition to be 1200 Ma,whereas the 877 ± 8 Ma age for magmatic zircons in the Apiai Gabbro give the minimum age.Detritus source areas are mainly Paleoproterozoic(2200-1800 Ma)with some Archean and Mesoproterozoic contribution(1500-1200 Ma),with distal or tectonic stable cratonic character.The Lajeado Group should be a Stenian-Tonian carbonate platform passive margin of a continent at this time,namely the Columbia/Nuna or the Rodinia.The Apiai Gabbro displays similar age to other intrusive basic rocks in the Lajeado and Itaiacoca groups and represents tholeiitic MORB-like magmatism that we relate to the initial break-up of a Mesoproterozoic continent and the formation of the Brasiliano oceans.  相似文献

A detailed vibrational Raman-IR spectroscopic and diffractional analyses have been performed on basalts from two locations from Tenerife Island:(1) the Arenas Negras volcano which belongs to the historical eruption not showing visible alteration and(2) Pillow Lavas zone from Anaga Massif which shows a clearly fluid-rock interaction caused by submarine alteration.These places have been extensively studied due to its similarity with the surface of Mars.The analysis is based on the mineral detection of selected samples by a Micro-Raman study of the materials.The complementary techniques have confirmed the mineralogy detected by the Raman measurement.The results show a volcanic environment behavior with primary phases like olivine,pyroxene,and feldspar/plagioclase.Moreover,the presence of accessory minerals or secondary mineralization like phosphate,iron oxides,zeolite or carbonates shows the alteration processes on each outcrop.The variation in the crystallinity and amorphous phases is related to fluid-rock interaction caused by hydrothermal episodes and external weathering processes,which shows several analogies with the ancient volcanic activity from Mars.  相似文献

In the present paper lignites from the Cambay basin have been studied for their hydrocarbon potential.The samples were collected from three lignite fieldse Vastan, Rajpardi and Tadkeshwar, and were investigated by petrography, chemical analyses and Rock-Eval pyrolysis. The results are well comparable with the empirically derived values. The study reveals that these ‘low rank C' lignites are exceedingly rich in reactive macerals(huminite t liptinite) while inertinite occurs in low concentration. These high volatile lignites generally have low ash yield except in few sections. The Rock-Eval data indicates the dominance of kerogen type-III with a little bit of type-II. The study reveals that the lignites of Vastan(lower and upper seams) and Tadkeshwar upper seam are more gas-prone while Rajpardi and Tadkeshwar lower seams are oil-prone. Further, the fixed hydrocarbons are several times higher than the free hydrocarbons. The relation between TOC and fixed hydrocarbon indicates that these lignites are excellent source rock for hydrocarbon which could be obtained mainly through thermal cracking. The empirically derived values reveal a high conversion(94e96%) and high oil yield(64e66%) for these lignites.  相似文献

U-Pb analyses were carried out on detrital zircon grains from major river-mouth sediments draining South Korea to infer provenance characteristics and the crustal growth history of the southern Korean Peninsula, using a laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer(LA-ICP-MS). The Korean Peninsula is located in the East Asian continental margin and mainly comprises three Precambrian massifs and two metamorphic belts in between them. We obtained 515 concordant to slightly discordant zircon ages ranging from ca. 3566 to ca. 48 Ma. Regardless of river-mouth location, predominance of Mesozoic(249e79 Ma) and Paleoproterozoic(2491e1691 Ma) ages with subordinate Archean ages indicates that the zircon ages reflect present exposures of plutonic/metamorphic rocks in the drainage basins of the South Korean rivers and the crustal growth of the southern Korean Peninsula was focused in these two periods. Comparison of detrital zircon-age data between the North and South Korean river sediments reveals that the Paleoproterozoic zircon age distributions of both regions are nearly identical,while the Neoproterozoice Paleozoic ages exist and the Mesozoic ages are dominant in southern Korean Peninsula. This result suggests that Precambrian terrains in Korea record the similar pre-Mesozoic magmatic history and that the influence of Mesozoic magmatism was mainly focused in South Korea.  相似文献

The Semail ophiolite of Oman and the United Arab Emirates(UAE) provides the best preserved large slice of oceanic lithosphere exposed on the continental crust,and offers unique opportunities to study processes of ocean crust formation,subduction initiation and obduction.Metamorphic rocks exposed in the eastern UAE have traditionally been interpreted as a metamorphic sole to the Semail ophiolite.However,there has been some debate over the possibility that the exposures contain components of older Arabian continental crust.To help answer this question,presented here are new zircon and rutile U-Pb geochronological data from various units of the metamorphic rocks.Zircon was absent in most samples.Those that yielded zircon and rutile provide dominant single age populations that are 95-93 Ma,partially overlapping with the known age of oceanic crust formation(96.5-94.5 Ma),and partially overlapping with cooling ages of the metamorphic rocks(95-90 Ma).The data are interpreted as dating high-grade metamorphism during subduction burial of the sediments into hot mantle lithosphere,and rapid cooling during their subsequent exhumation.A few discordant zircon ages,interpreted as late Neoproterozoic and younger,represent minor detrital input from the continent.No evidence is found in favour of the existence of older Arabian continental crust within the metamorphic rocks of the UAE.  相似文献
