New mineralogical, thermobarometric, isotopic, and geochemical data provide evidence for long and complex formation history of the Sarylakh and Sentachan Au-Sb deposits conditioned by regional geodynamics and various types of ore mineralization, differing in age and source of ore matter combined in the same ore-localizing structural units. The deposits are situated in the Taryn metallogenic zone of the East Yakutian metallogenic belt in the central Verkhoyansk-Kolyma Fold Region. They are controlled by the regional Adycha-Taryn Fault Zone that separates the Kular-Nera Terrane and the western part of the Verkhoyansk Fold-Thrust Belt. The fault extends along the strike of the northwest-trending linear folds and is deep-rooted and repeatedly reactivated. The orebodies are mineralized crush zones accompanied by sulfidated (up to 100 m wide) quartz-sericite metasomatic rocks and replacing dickite-pyrophyllite alteration near stibnite veinlets. Two stages of low-sulfide gold-quartz and stibnite mineralization are distinguished. The formation conditions of the early milk white quartz in orebodies with stibnite mineralization at the Sarylakh and Sentachan deposits are similar: temperature interval 340–280°C, salt concentration in fluids 6.8–1.6 wt % NaCl equiv, fluid pressure 3430–1050 bar, and sodic bicarbonate fluid composition. The ranges of fluid salinity overlapped at both deposits. In the late regenerated quartz that attends stibnite mineralization, fluid inclusions contain an aqueous solution with salinity of 3.2 wt % NaCl equiv and are homogenized into liquid at 304–189°C. Syngenetic gas inclusions contain nitrogen 0.19 g/cm3 in density. The pressure of 300 bar is estimated at 189°C. The composition of the captured fluid is characterized as K-Ca bicarbonatesulfate. The sulfur isotopic composition has been analyzed in pyrite and arsenopyrite from ore and metasomatic zones, as well as in coarse-, medium-, and fine-grained stibnite varieties subjected to dynamometamorphism. The following δ34S values, ‰ have been established at the Sarylakh deposit: −2.0 to −0.9 in arsenopyrite, −5.5 to −1.1 in pyrite, and −5.5 to −3.6 in stibnite. At the Sentachan deposit: −0.8 to +1.0 in arsenopyrite, +0.5 to +2.6 in pyrite, and −3.9 to +0.6 in stibnite. Sulfides from the Sentachan deposit is somewhat enriched in 34S. The 18O of milk white quartz at the Sarylakh deposit varies from +14.8 to 17.0‰ and from +16.4 to + 19.3‰ at the Sentachan. The δ18O of regenerated quartz is +16.5‰ at the Sarylakh and +17.6 to +19.8‰ at the Sentachan. The δ18O of carbonates varies from +15.0 to 16.3% at the Sarylakh and from +16.7 to +18.2‰ at the Sentachan. The δ13C of carbonates ranges from −9.5 to −12.1‰ and −7.8 to −8.5‰, respectively. The calculated $ \delta ^{18} O_{H_2 O} $ \delta ^{18} O_{H_2 O} of the early fluid in equilibrium with quartz and dolomite at 300δC are +7.9 to +10.1‰ for the Sarylakh deposit and +9.5 to +12.4‰ for the Sentachan deposit (+4.9 and 6.0‰ at 200°C for the late fluid, respectively). Most estimates fall into the interval characteristic of magmatic water (°18O = +5.5 to +9.5‰).  相似文献

The Dongsheng sandstone-type uranium deposit is one of the large-sized sandstone-type uranium deposits discovered in the northern part of the Ordos Basin of China in recent years. Geochemical characteristics of the Dongsheng uranium deposit are significantly different from those of the typical interlayered oxidized sandstone-type uranium ore deposits in the region of Middle Asia. Fluid inclusion studies of the uranium deposit showed that the uranium ore-forming temperatures are within the range of 150–160℃. Their 3He/4He ratios are within the range of 0.02–1.00 R/Ra, about 5–40 times those of the crust. Their 40Ar/36Ar ratios vary from 584 to 1243, much higher than the values of atmospheric argon. The δ18OH2O and δD values of fluid inclusions from the uranium deposit are -3.0‰– -8.75‰ and -55.8‰– -71.3‰, respectively, reflecting the characteristics of mixed fluid of meteoric water and magmatic water. The δ18OH2O and δD values of kaolinite layer at the bottom of the uranium ore deposit are 6.1‰ and -77‰, respectively, showing the characteristics of magmatic water. The δ13CV-PDB and δ18OH2O values of calcite veins in uranium ores are -8.0‰ and 5.76‰, respectively, showing the characteristics of mantle source. Geochemical characteristics of fluid inclusions indicated that the ore-formation fluid for the Dongsheng uranium deposit was a mixed fluid of meteoric water and deep-source fluid from the crust. It was proposed that the Jurassic-Cretaceous U-rich metamorphic rocks and granites widespread in the northern uplift area of the Ordos Basin had been weathered and denudated and the ore-forming elements, mainly uranium, were transported by meteoric waters to the Dongsheng region, where uranium ores were formed. Tectonothermal events and magmatic activities in the Ordos Basin during the Mesozoic made fluids in the deep interior and oil/gas at shallow levels upwarp along the fault zone and activated fractures, filling into U-bearing clastic sandstones, thus providing necessary energy for the formation of uranium ores.  相似文献

The relationships between the δ18O of quartz veins and veinlets pertaining to the main stage of gold mineralization at the Sukhoi Log deposit and metasomatically altered host slates are estimated. The oxygen isotopic composition of veined quartz and host slates is not uniform. The δ18O of quartz veins from the Western, Central, and Sukhoi Log areas of the deposit vary from +16 to + 18 ‰. The δ18O range of metasomatically altered slates in the Western and Sukhoi Log areas attains 6 ‰. The δ18O of quartz veins are always higher than those of host slates by 3–7‰. The regular difference in the δ18O between quartz veins and host slates indicates that the oxygen isotopic composition of the ore-bearing fluid forming the system of quartz veins and veinlets at the Sukhoi Log deposit could have formed as a result of interaction with silicate rocks, for instance, terrigenous slates enriched in δ18O. Such interaction, however, took place at deeper levels of the Sukhoi Log deposit. It is suggested that the fluid phase participating in the formation of the vein and veinlet system had initially high δ18O(>+10‰) due to interaction with the rocks enriched in δ18O at a low fluid/rock ratio. The oxygen isotope data indicate that the fluid participating in the formation of gold mineralization at the Sukhoi Log deposit was not in equilibrium with igneous rocks at high temperatures.  相似文献

We report here new sulfur isotope analyses from the Betze-Post-Screamer deposit, the largest Carlin-type gold deposit in the world. Carlin-type deposits contain high concentrations of arsenic, antimony, mercury, tellurium and other elements of environmental interest, and are surrounded by large volumes of crust in which these elements are also enriched. Uncertainty about the source of sulfur and metals in and around Carlin-type deposits has hampered formulation of models for their origin, which are needed for improved mineral exploration and environmental assessment. Previous studies have concluded that most Carlin-type deposits formed from sulfide sulfur that is largely of sedimentary origin. Most of these studies are based on analyses of mineral separates consisting of pre-ore diagenetic pyrite with thin overgrowths of ore-related arsenian pyrite rather than pure, ore-related pyrite. Our SIMS spot analyses of ore-related pyrite overgrowths in the Screamer zone of the Betze-Post-Screamer deposit yield δ34S values of about −1 to 4‰ with one value of about 7‰. Conventional analyses of realgar and orpiment separates from throughout the deposit yield δ34S values of about 5–7‰ with one value of 10‰ in the Screamer zone. These results, along with results from an earlier SIMS study in the Post zone of the deposit and phase equilibrium constraints, indicate that early arsenian pyrite were formed from fluids of magmatic origin with variable contamination from sulfur in Paleozoic sedimentary rocks. Later arsenic sulfides were formed from solutions to which sulfur of sedimentary origin had been added. The presence of Paleozoic sedimentary sulfur in Carlin-type deposits does not require direct involvement of hydrothermal solutions of sedimentary origin. Instead, it could have been added by magmatic assimilation of Paleozoic sedimentary rocks or by hydrothermal leaching of sulfur from wall rocks to the deposit. Thus, the dominant process delivering sulfur, arsenic, gold and mineralizing fluids to Carlin-type systems and their surrounding country rocks was probably separation of fluids from a magmatic source. The Jinshan orogenic gold deposit is a world-class deposit hosted by a ductile shear zone caused by a transpressional terrane collision during Neoproterozoic time. Ore bodies at the deposit include laminated quartz veins and disseminated pyrite-bearing mylonite. Most quartz veins in the shear zone, with and without gold mineralization, were boudinaged during progressive shear deformation with three generations of boudinage structures produced at different stages of progressive deformation. Observations of ore-controlling structures at various scales indicate syn-deformational mineralization. Fluid inclusions from pyrite intergrown with auriferous quartz have 3He/4He ratios of 0.15–0.24 Ra and 40Ar/36Ar ratios 575–3,060. δ18Ofluid values calculated from quartz are 5.5–8.4‰, and δD values of fluid inclusions contained in quartz range between −61‰ and −75‰. The δ13C values of ankerite range from −5.0‰ to −4.2‰, and ankerite δ18O values from 4.4‰ to 8.0‰. The noble gas and stable isotope data suggest a predominant crustal source of ore fluids with less than 5% mantle component. Data also show that in situ fluids were generated locally by pervasive pressure solution, and that widespread dissolution seams acted as pathways of fluid flow, migration, and precipitation. The in situ fluids and fluids derived from deeper levels of the crust were focused by deformation and deformation structures at various scales through solution-dissolution creep, crack-seal slip, and cyclic fault-valve mechanisms during progressively localized deformation and gold mineralization.  相似文献

At Malanjkhand, Central India, lode-type copper (-molybdenum) mineralization occurs within calcalkaline tonalite-granodiorite plutonic rocks of early Proterozoic age. The bulk of the mineralization occurs in sheeted quartz-sulfide veins, and K-silicate alteration assemblages, defined by alkali feldspar (K-feldspar ≫ albite) + dusty hematite in feldspar ± biotite ± muscovite, are prominent within the ore zone and the adjacent host rock. Weak propylitic alteration, defined by albite + biotite + epidote/zoisite, surrounds the K-silicate alteration zone. The mineralized zone is approximately 2 km in strike length, has a maximum thickness of 200 m and dips 65°–75°, along which low-grade mineralization has been traced up to a depth of about 1 km. The ore reserve has been conservatively estimated to be 92 million tonnes with an average Cu-content of 1.30%. Supergene oxidation, accompanied by limited copper enrichment, is observed down to a depth of 100m or more from the surface. Primary ores consist essentially of chalcopyrite and pyrite with minor magnetite and molybdenite. δ34S (‰) values in pyrite and chalcopyrite (−0.38 to +2.90) fall within the range characteristic of granitoid-hosted copper deposits. δ18O (‰) values for vein quartz (+ 6.99 to +8.80) suggest exclusive involvement of juvenile water. Annealed fabrics are common in the ore. The sequence of events that led to the present state of hypogene mineralization is suggested to be as follows: fracturing of the host rock, emplacement of barren vein quartz, pronounced wall-rock alteration accompanied by disseminated mineralization and the ultimate stage of intense silicification accompanied by copper mineralization. Fragments of vein quartz and altered wall rocks and striae in the ore suggest post-mineralization deformation. The recrystallization fabric, particularly in chalcopyrite and sphalerite, is a product of dynamic recrystallization associated with the post-mineralization shearing. The petrology of the host rocks, hydrothermal alteration assemblages, ore mineral associations, fluid inclusions and the sulfur and oxygen isotopes of ores are comparable to those in Phanerozoic (and reported Precambrian) porphyry-copper systems, and the Malanjkhand deposit has important implications for both metallogenic models for, and mineral exploration in, Precambrian terrains.  相似文献

Summary Telluride-bearing gold deposits of the Pingyi area, western Shandong, China, are located on the southeastern margin of the North China Craton. There are two main types of deposits: (i) mineralized cryptoexplosive breccia, e.g., Guilaizhuang; and (ii) stratified, finely-disseminated mineralization hosted in carbonate rocks, e.g., Lifanggou and Mofanggou deposits. In Guilaizhuang, the cryptoexplosive breccia is formed within rocks of the Tongshi complex and Ordovician dolomite. The mineralization is controlled by an E–W-trending listric fault. Stratified orebodies of the Lifanggou and Mofanggou deposits are placed along a NE-trending, secondary detachment zone. They are hosted within dolomitic limestone, micrite and dolomite of the Early-Middle Cambrian Changqing Group. The mineralization in the ore districts is considered to be related to the Early Jurassic Tongshi magmatic complex that formed in a continental arc setting on the margin of the North China Craton. The host rocks are porphyritic and consist predominantly of medium- to fine-grained diorite and pyroxene (hornblende)-bearing monzonite. SHRIMP U–Pb zircon dating of diorites give a 206Pb/238U weighted mean age of 175.7 ± 3.8 Ma. This is interpreted as representing the crystallization age of the Tongshi magmatic complex. Considering the contact relationships between the magmatic and host sedimentary rocks, as well as the genetic link with the deposits, we conclude that this age is relevant also for the formation of mineralization in the Pingyi area. We hence consider that the deposits formed in the Jurassic. The principal gold minerals are native gold, electrum and calaverite. Wall-rock alteration comprises pyritization, fluoritization, silicification, carbonatization and chloritization. Fluid inclusion studies indicate that all the analyzed inclusions are of two-phase vapor–liquid NaCl–H2O type. Homogenization temperatures of the fluid inclusions vary from 103 °C to 250 °C, and the ice melting temperatures range from −2.5 °C to −13.5 °C, corresponding to a salinity range of 4.65 to 17.26 wt.% NaCl equiv. The δ34S values of pyrite associated with gold mineralization exhibit a narrow range of −0.71 to + 2.99‰, implying that the sulfur was probably derived from the mantle and/or dioritic magma. The δ13CPDB values of the fluid inclusions in calcite range from −7.3 to 0.0‰. The δ18OSMOW values of vein quartz and calcite range from 11.5 to 21.5‰, corresponding to δ18Ofluid values of −1.1 to 10.9‰; δD values of the fluid inclusions vary between −70 and −48‰. The isotope data for all three deposits suggest mixing of ore-forming fluids derived from the mantle and/or magma with different types of fluids at shallow levels. Pressure release and boiling of the fluids, as well as fluid-rock interaction (Lifanggou and Mofanggou) and mixing of magmatically-derived fluids with meteoritic waters (Guilaizhuang) played an important role in the ore-forming processes.  相似文献

Lead isotope ratios and associated trace element concentrations (U, Th and Pb) extracted by partial-leaching with 2% nitric acid from Proterozoic sandstones and basement rocks reveal much about the fluid evolution of sedimentary basins hosting unconformity-type uranium deposits. In addition, these techniques have great potential as a guide for exploration of uranium and other types of deposits in basins of any age. Isotope ratios of Pb in Proterozoic sandstones from basins known to contain high-grade uranium deposits are radiogenic at key geological localities and settings distal to known mineralization and particularly in altered zones proximal to mineralization. Sandstones completely cemented by quartz overgrowths typically have non-radiogenic Pb isotope ratios, indicating early closure of porosity and isolation of these rocks from later fluid events. Alternatively, the unconformity served as both a source of uranium and radiogenic Pb as well as an avenue for late-stage (<250–900 Ma) fluid flow. The mafic volcanic units, which are relatively reducing lithologies and therefore have removed uranium from basinal brines, have uranium-supported radiogenic Pb isotope ratios. Comparison of 238U/206Pb and 206Pb/204Pb ratios is useful in determining the timing and nature of U and Pb migration before, during and after mineralization in these basins. This comparison can be used to delineate the presence of radiogenic Pb isotope ratios that are not internally supported by uranium and thorium in rocks, eventually providing the explorationist with geochemical vectors that point toward sites of high potential for economic uranium mineralization.  相似文献

We have investigated the geochemical pattern of fluid infiltration in the extensional detachment of Tinos Island (Cyclades, Greece). Ion microprobe O-isotope analyses and fluid inclusion studies have been conducted in strain fringes developing around pyrite blasts in the mylonite of the shear zone. Micro-scale traverses in quartz and calcite fibres show that δ18O increases from 17–18 to 20–21‰ in 1 mm towards the blast, drops of 3‰ in ∼200 μm, then rises again in the direction of growth. δ18O variations are interpreted as transient influxes of exotic fluids into the shear zone between periods of closed system buffering by the host rock. Fluid inclusions trapped in the fibres show fluctuating salinities (0–4 wt% NaCl eq.) and densities that reflect drops of the pore pressure from lithostatic (λ=1) to hydrostatic (λ=0.4) values during fringe growth. Isotopic and microthermometric data are consistent with models of seismic pumping developed for compressive shear zones. We therefore suggest that co-seismic pore pressure variations developed suction forces sufficient to drive large-scale fluid migration in the Tinos detachment, as in convergent tectonic settings.  相似文献

Oxygen isotopic composition was studied in the altered host rocks of the Dal’negorsk borosilicate deposit in order to establish a boron source and the origin of ore-forming fluids responsible for deposition of economic borosilicate ore. The relationships between oxygen isotopic composition and geochemistry of the altered igneous rocks occupying various structural and temporal positions in the ore zone were studied, including premineral high-potassium minor intrusions located in the zones of datolite mineralization; alkali basalt, gabbro, and breccia from the sedimentary framework of the deposit; and postmineral basaltic andesite, basalt, and dolerite dikes. It was suggested that interaction of aqueous fluid with host rocks brought about not only variation in oxygen isotopic composition but also shifts in geochemistry of these rocks, especially as concerns the chemical elements contained in ore-forming fluid. The disturbance of oxygen isotopic system is typical of all studied rocks: δ18O values sharply decrease indicating interaction with aqueous fluid at elevated temperatures. The lowest δ18O (from −2.9 to +0.1‰) is characteristic of the premineral high-potassium and ultrapotassium minor intrusions from skarn-datolite zone. Igneous rocks from the sedimentary framework of the deposit have δ18O of +2 to −0.9‰ The δ18O of postmineral basaltic andesite, basalt, and dolerite dikes varies from 0 to +7‰ with increasing distance from the ore zone. The oxygen isotopic composition of aqueous fluid evidences its exogenic origin. The geochemical and isotopic characteristics of ore-forming fluid show that it could have been deep-seated subsurface water similar to the contemporary water of the Alpine fold zone, which contain up to 700–1000 mg/l B and is distinguished by high K, Li, Rb, Cs contents and high K/Na ratio. Similar geochemistry is characteristic of the fluid inclusions in quartz from ore zones. It cannot be ruled out that continental evaporites were a source of boron as well. The relationships between δ18O, K-Ar age, and geochemical parameters of premineral and postmineral altered intrusive bodies allow us to suggest that the subsurface B-bearing water discharged through narrow channels controlled by premineral basaltic bodies. The discharge was probably initiated by emplacement of basalt and dolerite dikes.  相似文献

This study provides geochemical, mineralogical, and isotope data for rocks and ores from Lower Proterozoic black shale formations of the Kodar–Udokan structural and formational zone, which host the Khadatkanda gold—uranium deposit. The results indicate that the uranium and gold mineralizations were formed at different times in relation to different geodynamic settings. The gold mineralization is associated with the inception of the Syulban fault and has a juvenile source. The later Th–U mineralization originated during tectonic rejuvenation of the Syulban fault zone, while the sources of radioactive elements were presumably the underlying sediments of the Kodar Group, which are widespread throughout the area of the Baikal mountain region (BMR). Based on the above results, the Au–U mineralization in the study area can be recognized as unconformity-type deposits, analogous to the well-known deposits of Australia and Canada. In this connection, the Baikal mountain region has a good potential for the discovery of Au—U deposits.  相似文献

A set of sheeted quartz veins cutting 380 Ma monzogranite at Sandwich Point, Nova Scotia, Canada, provide an opportunity to address issues regarding fluid reservoirs and genesis of intrusion-related gold deposits. The quartz veins, locally with arsenopyrite (≤5%) and elevated Au–(Bi–Sb–Cu–Zn), occur within the reduced South Mountain Batholith, which also has other zones of anomalous gold enrichment. The host granite intruded (P = 3.5 kbars) Lower Paleozoic metaturbiditic rocks of the Meguma Supergroup, well known for orogenic vein gold mineralization. Relevant field observations include the following: (1) the granite contains pegmatite segregations and is cut by aplitic dykes and zones (≤1–2 m) of spaced fracture cleavage; (2) sheeted veins containing coarse, comb-textured quartz extend into a pegmatite zone; (3) arsenopyrite-bearing greisens dominated by F-rich muscovite occur adjacent the quartz veins; and (4) vein and greisen formation is consistent with Riedel shear geometry. Although these features suggest a magmatic origin for the vein-forming fluids, geochemical studies indicate a more complex origin. Vein quartz contains two types of aqueous fluid inclusion assemblages (FIA). Type 1 is a low-salinity (≤3 wt.% equivalent NaCl) with minor CO2 (≤2 mol%) and has T h = 280–340°C. In contrast, type 2 is a high-salinity (20–25 wt.% equivalent NaCl), Ca-rich fluid with T h = 160–200°C. Pressure-corrected fluid inclusion data reflect expulsion of a magmatic fluid near the granite solidus (650°C) that cooled and mixed with a lower temperature (400°C), wall rock equilibrated, Ca-rich fluid. Evidence for fluid unmixing, an important process in some intrusion-related gold deposit settings, is lacking. Stable isotopic (O, D, S) analyses for quartz, muscovite and arsenopyrite samples from vein and greisens indicate the following: (1) δ18Oqtz = +11.7‰ to 17.8‰ and δ18Omusc = +10.7‰ to +11.2‰; (2) δDmusc = −44‰ to−54‰; and (3) δ34Saspy = +7.8‰ to +10.3‰. These data are interpreted, in conjunction with fluid inclusion data, to reflect contamination of a magmatic-derived fluid (d18OH2O {\delta^{{{18}}}}{{\hbox{O}}_{{{{\rm{H}}_{{2}}}{\rm{O}}}}}  ≤ +10‰) by an external fluid (d18OH2O {\delta^{{{18}}}}{{\hbox{O}}_{{{{\rm{H}}_{{2}}}{\rm{O}}}}}  ≥ +15‰), the latter having equilibrated with the surrounding metasedimentary rocks. The δ34S data are inconsistent with a direct igneous source based on other studies for the host intrusion (d18OH2O {\delta^{{{18}}}}{{\hbox{O}}_{{{{\rm{H}}_{{2}}}{\rm{O}}}}}  = +5‰) and are, instead, consistent with an external reservoir for sulphur based on δ34SH2S data for the surrounding metasedimentary rocks. Divergent fluid reservoirs are also supported by analyses of Pb isotopes for pegmatitic K-feldspar and vein arsenopyrite. Collectively the data indicate that the vein- and greisen-forming fluids had a complex origin and reflect both magmatic and non-magmatic reservoirs. Thus, although the geological setting suggests a magmatic origin, the geochemical data indicate involvement of multiple reservoirs. These results suggest multiple reservoirs for this intrusion-related gold deposit setting and caution against interpreting the genesis of intrusion-related gold deposit mineralization in somewhat analogous settings based on a limited geochemical data set.  相似文献

The El Cobre deposit is located in eastern Cuba within the volcanosedimentary sequence of the Sierra Maestra Paleogene arc. The deposit is hosted by tholeiitic basalts, andesites and tuffs and comprises thick stratiform barite and anhydrite bodies, three stratabound disseminated up to massive sulphide bodies produced by silicification and sulphidation of limestones or sulphates, an anhydrite stockwork and a siliceous stockwork, grading downwards to quartz veins. Sulphides are mainly pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite; gold occurs in the stratabound ores. Fluid inclusions measured in sphalerite, quartz, anhydrite and calcite show salinities between 2.3 and 5.7 wt% NaCl eq. and homogenisation temperatures between 177 and 300°C. Sulphides from the stratabound mineralisation display δ 34S values of 0‰ to +6.0‰, whilst those from the feeder zone lie between −1.4‰ and +7.3‰. Sulphides show an intra-grain sulphur isotope zonation of about 2‰; usually, δ 34S values increase towards the rims. Sulphate sulphur has δ 34S in the range of +17‰ to +21‰, except two samples with values of +5.9‰ and +7.7‰. Sulphur isotope data indicate that the thermochemical reduction of sulphate from a hydrothermal fluid of seawater origin was the main source of sulphide sulphur and that most of the sulphates precipitated by heating of seawater. The structure of the deposit, mineralogy, fluid inclusion and isotope data suggest that the deposit formed from seawater-derived fluids with probably minor supply of magmatic fluids.  相似文献

Numerous Fe–Cu deposits are hosted in the late Paleoproterozoic Dongchuan and Dahongshan Groups in the Kangdian region, SW China. The Dongchuan Group is composed of siltstone, slate, and dolostone with minor volcanic rocks, whereas the Dahongshan Group has undergone lower amphibolite facies metamorphism and consists of quartz mica-schist, albitite, quartzite, marble and amphibolite with local migmatite. Deposits in the Dongchuan Group are commonly localized in the cores of anticlines, in fault bends and intersections, and at lithological contacts. Orebodies are closely associated with breccias, which are locally derived from the host rocks. Fe-oxides (magnetite and/or hematite) and Cu-sulfides (chalcopyrite, bornite) form disseminated, vein-like and massive ores, and typically fill open spaces in the host rocks. The deposits have extensive albite alteration and local K-feldspar alteration overprinted by quartz, carbonate, sericite and chlorite. Deposits in the Dahongshan Group have orebodies sub-parellel to stratification and show crude stratal partitioning of metals. Fe-oxide ores occur as massive and/or banded replacements within the breccia pipes, whereas Cu-sulfide ores occur predominantly as disseminations and veinlets within mica schists and massive magnetite ores. Ore textures suggest that Cu-sulfides formed somewhat later than Fe-oxides, but are possibly within the same mineralization event. Both ore minerals predated regional Neoproterozoic metamorphism. Both orebodies and host rocks have undergone extensive alteration of albite, scapolite, amphibole, biotite, sericite and chlorite. Silica and carbonate alterations are also widespread. Ore-hosting strata have a LA-ICP-MS zircon U–Pb age of 1681 ± 13 Ma, and a dolerite dyke cutting the Fe-oxide orebodies has an age of 1659 ± 16 Ma. Thus, the mineralization age of the Dahongshan deposit is constrained at between the two. All ores from the two groups have high Fe and low Ti, with variable Cu contents. Locally they are rich in Mo, Co, V, and REE, but all are poor in Pb and Zn. Sulfides from the Fe–Cu deposits have δ34S values mostly in the range of +2 to +6 per mil, suggesting a mix of several sources due to large-scale leaching of the strata with the involvement of evaporites. Isotopic dating and field relationships suggest that these deposits formed in the late Paleoproterozoic. Ore textures, mineralogy and alteration characteristics are typical of IOCG-type deposits and thus define a major IOCG metallogenic province with significant implications for future exploration.  相似文献

The Géant Dormant gold mine is a sulfide-rich quartz vein gold deposit hosted by a volcano-sedimentary sequence and an associated felsic endogenous dome and dikes. The auriferous quartz-sulfide veins were preceded by two synvolcanic gold-bearing mineralizing events: early sulfidic seafloor-related and later disseminated pyrite in the felsic dome. This deposit differs from classical Archean auriferous quartz vein deposits by the low carbonate and high sulfide contents of the veins and by their formation prior to ductile penetrative deformation. The δ18O values of quartz associated with seafloor-related auriferous sulfides average 11.9 ± 0.6‰ (n = 3). The seafloor hydrothermal fluids had a δ18O value of 3.2‰ calculated at 250 °C. The oxygen isotope composition of quartz and chlorite from veins average 12.5 ± 0.3‰ (n = 20) and 5.9 ± 1.1‰ (n = 4) respectively. Assuming oxygen isotope equilibrium between quartz and chlorite, the veins formed at a temperature of ∼275 °C, which is consistent with the calculated temperature of 269 ± 10 °C from chlorite chemistry. The gold-bearing fluids had a δ18O value of 4.7‰ calculated at 275 °C. The δ34S values of sulfides from the three gold events range from 0.6 to 2.8‰ (n = 32) and are close to magmatic values. Sulfur isotope geothermometry constrains the sulfide precipitation in the gold-bearing veins at a temperature of ∼350 °C. The similarity of the isotope data, the calculated δ18O of the mineralizing fluids and the likely seawater fluid source suggest that the three mineralizing events are genetically related to a volcanogenic hydrothermal system. The high value of the auriferous fluids (δ18O = 4.7‰) is attributed to a significant magmatic fluid contribution to the evolved seawater-dominated convective hydrothermal system. The two-stage filling of veins at increasing temperature from quartz-chlorite (275 °C) to sulfides (350 °C) may reflect the progressive maturation of volcanogenic hydrothermal systems. These results, together with field and geochemical data, suggest that formation of gold-rich volcanogenic systems require specific conditions that comprise a magmatic fluid contribution and gold from arc-related felsic rocks, coeval with the mineralizing events. This study shows that some auriferous quartz-vein orebodies in Archean terranes are formed in volcanogenic rather than mesothermal systems. The Tuwaishan, Baoban, Erjia, Bumo and other gold deposits in western Hainan occur in Precambrian metamorphic clastic rocks and are structurally controlled by the Gezhen shear zone. Fluid inclusion studies have been carried out of the gold deposits mentioned above. The homogenization temperatures of the whole fluid inclusion population range from 140°C to 370°C, indicating that gold was precipitated mainly at 240–250°C. The salinities are within the range of 2.0–9.2 wt% NaCl equiv. and the pressure of formation of the deposits was estimated at about 270×105−500×105Pa, corresponding to a depth of about 1.1–2.0 km under lithostatic confinement. Chemical studies show that the ore fluid is of the Na+(K+)-Ca2+-Cl(F) type. Theδ 18O andδD values of the fluid vary from −2.7‰- +4.4‰ and −50‰–−87‰ Evidence developed from fluid inclusions and geological setting indicates that the ore fluid was a mixture of magmatic and meteoric-hydrothermal waters. Changes in chemical composition andδ 18O andδD of fluid inclusions from one ore field to another seem to be related with regional tectonism, metamorphism and magmatism.  相似文献

The Rocabruna and Coll de Pal barite deposits, located in the eastern Pyrenees of Spain, fill karstic cavities within carbonate rocks of Cambrian and Devonian age, respectively. The deposits contain barite, chalcopyrite, tetrahedrite, pyrite and minor sphalerite and galena with saddle dolomite and quartz as gangue. Fluid inclusion data from Coll de Pal quartz and dolomite indicate that the mineralizing fluid was a polysaline CaCl2-rich brine, with temperatures between 125 and 150 °C. C and O isotopic compositions of carbonates in both deposits are consistent with a progressive increase in temperature during deposition. The 34S values of barite, which range from 14.2 to 15.9‰ in Coll de Pal, and from 13.9 to 19.3‰ in Rocabruna, together with 87Sr/86Sr ratios ranging from 0.7118 to 0.7168 in Rocabruna, and from 0.7115 to 0.7136 in Coll de Pal, indicate two different fluid sources. We propose that these deposits formed as a result of mixing between a Ba-rich, sulfate-poor hot fluid, and sulfate-rich solutions of surficial origin. The different Sr isotope ratios in the deposits indicate that the hot Ba-rich fluids involved in each deposit were equilibrated with different rock types (carbonates and shales), in agreement with the geology of the two areas.
