西北地区干枯湖床沉积粒度组成与东亚沙尘天气   总被引:23,自引:4,他引:19  
调查了准噶尔盆地玛纳斯湖、阿拉善高原居延泽及民勤盆地猪野泽等北方众多的现代干枯湖泊,重点分析了干枯湖床沉积物粒度组成。干枯的玛纳斯湖、古居延泽以及民勤盆地古猪野泽沉积物粒度分析结果表明,干枯湖床的地表湖相沉积物粒径小于10μm的颗粒占60%以上,干涸湖床上沙质草原地表也含有大量小于10μm的粘土颗粒,含量接近50%;而弃荒土地地表细颗粒物质散失迅速,民勤盆地弃荒土地地表粘土含量仅存不到13.9%。中国西北地区活动沙丘粒度组成小于63μm粒径的颗粒很少,小于10μm的颗粒微乎其微。因此西北沙漠地区活动沙丘沙对华北或华东地区影响相对较小。认为沙尘暴、扬沙或浮尘天气虽然多发生于中国西部沙漠、阿拉善高原沙区、河西走廊北部沙区以及蒙古东部、中部地区,但由于粗颗粒沙扬起高度与搬运距离有限,真正影响整个华北、华东地区的沙尘物质是小于63μm的粉砂级别的颗粒,特别是小于10μm的粉尘。认为影响东亚地区的粉尘天气物源不仅是中国西部的内陆沙漠、沙地,更重要的是干枯的湖泊、弃耕的荒地与裸露的沙砾草场。  相似文献

文章通过内蒙古阿拉善高原古居延泽干涸湖床沉积物、周缘活动沙丘、沙质草原地表土壤及古代弃荒土地的粒度组成分析,论述干涸湖床沉积物对沙尘天气的影响。古居延泽湖床沉积粒度分析结果表明,干涸湖床的地表湖相沉积物粒径小于10μm的颗粒占64%以上,可以在一般风暴条件下在大气中搬运几千公里,这意味着西北地区干涸湖床产生的粉尘在风暴作用下可以横扫整个东亚北部地区。中国西北地区冬、春季多西北风造成沙尘暴或扬沙天气,西部沙漠、沙地或沙质草场遭遇强风时沙尘被席卷进气流,但其中粗砂粒扬起的高度、搬运的距离有限,当风力稍稍减弱,粗颗粒砂粒沉降,而粉尘继续悬浮运移。当强风途径下一个沙区时新的沙尘加入,沙尘暴呈“接力方式”继续向东南部移动。  相似文献

The abandoned Kilembe copper mine in western Uganda is a source of contaminants, mobilised from mine tailings into R. Rukoki flowing through a belt of wetlands into Lake George. Water and sediments were investigated on the lakeshore and the lakebed. Metal associations in the sediments reflect the Kilembe sulphide mineralisation. Enrichment of metals was compared between lakebed sediments, both for wet and dry seasons. Total C in a lakebed core shows a general increment, while Cu and Co decrease with depth. The contaminants are predominant (> 65%) in the ≤ 63 μm sediment size range with elevated Cu and Zn (> 28%), while Ni, Pb and Co are low (< 18%) in all the fractions. Sequential extraction of Fe for lakeshore sediment samples reveals low Fe mobility. Relatively higher mobility and biological availability is seen for Co, Cu and S. Heavy metal contents in lake waters are not an immediate risk to the aquatic environment.  相似文献

In this paper, nine sediment sequences in the inner desert, desert-loess transitional zone (agro-pastoral transitional zone) and the northern margin of the Loess Plateau were investigated to study the sediments of Mu Us (Maowusu) and Otindaq (Hunshandake) sandy land in northern China since the last glaciation. All of these sequences consisted of the upper Holocene dark paleosol and the lower aeolian sand formed during the last glacial stage. The Mu Us and Otindaq sandy land became the active desert since the last glaciation and covered a larger sandy area than at present. Mu Us sandy land began to show a landform of sandy desert and expanded southward towards the northern boundaries of the Loess Plateau. The Holocene was characterized by the advent of warmer and wetter climatic conditions in northern China, resulting in the rapid growth of surface vegetation and Mu Us and Otindaq sandy land became a steppe. The thickness of surface soil reached up to as much as 50–80 cm. Thick paleosol covered the drift sands, and served as a protective layer for the steppe and farmland. Although the last glacial cycle is far away, paleo-aeolian sands formed during that period are still the material sources of regional desertification. Unreasonable cultivation destroying the Holocene paleosol, combined with dry climate and strong wind would result in activation of paleo- aeolian sand leading to the desertification of the study areas.  相似文献

冰缘风沙地貌与沉积是在冰缘寒冷干旱气候环境中,伴有冰川或冻融作用影响,主要由风沙作用形成的荒漠地貌.现代冰缘荒漠主要分布于南、北半球的高纬度地区及中低纬度的高海拔地区,部分温带沙漠也有古冰缘荒漠沉积分布.冰缘沙丘的规模一般较小,沙丘沉积富含腐殖质及冰粒,并兼具冻融和积雪层理构造等,砂的化学及物理成熟度较低.冰缘风沙沉积往往与邻近的其它沉积相伴生,如黄土、冰川、湖泊、海洋甚至火山碎屑,因而可参与区域气候、环境,尤其是古环流的恢复与重建,也可为研究温带荒漠在冰期时的演化提供参考.目前在冰缘沙漠研究中已经取得了一些可喜的成绩,但在确定冰缘荒漠的原因过程方面还没有形成系统的理论,更多工作有待进行.青藏高原腹地的普若岗日冰缘沙丘与戈壁,是我国典型的冰缘荒漠地貌与沉积,研究其地貌与环境过程,对丰富我国沙漠学研究内容和了解晚第四纪高原腹地气候、环境变化具有重要意义.  相似文献

我国季风区西北边缘的沙漠是全球中纬度敏感带的重要组成部分.本文选取区内的毛乌素沙地、共和沙地和腾格里沙漠,通过对末次冰期以来地层年代学、沉积相和地层空间分布的研究,重点探讨了末次冰期和全新世时期两个特征时段的沙漠演化.其中末次冰期是沙漠的持续发展、扩张期,奠定了沙漠的空间格局;全新世早期沙漠总体趋于固定、缩小,中期沙漠大部处于固定、缩小状态,晚期沙漠有所扩大,但未达到末次冰期的最大规模.  相似文献

北京的"沙尘暴"在地质学研究分类中应属于尘暴,且属含大量盐碱物质(水溶盐物质)的盐碱尘暴。盐碱尘暴对人体健康和经济发展造成严重威胁,已引起普遍关注。通过调查北京尘暴源区蒙古国东南部和中国内蒙古中部、河北省西部地区表土和部分降尘的理化特性,为探讨北京盐碱尘暴粉尘物质的来源提供新的证据。对尘源区农耕地、沙化土地、退化草地、撂荒地、沙漠、沙地等不同代表性区域的表土进行较系统的采样,收集北京和部分尘源区附近城镇的大气降尘,分析其水溶盐和水溶性元素或离子的含量、酸碱度、粒度、比重、起尘风速。结果表明,干盐湖盆区以高百分含量的细微粉尘物质(200目)、水溶盐含量和部分水溶性元素或离子(如Na、Cl-)为主要特征,其较高的pH值、极小的粒径、很大的比表面积、偏小的比重、偏低的起尘风速等,与北京及尘源区附近城镇大气降尘的特性相对应,明显不同于沙漠、沙地、沙堆和农耕地、撂荒地、退化草地等,因此推测干盐湖盆区是现阶段北京盐碱尘暴最主要、最关键的源区之一。而水溶盐含量、粒度大小、酸碱度、比重、起尘风速等,是判断北京盐碱尘暴粉尘物质来源的关键性指标。  相似文献

Nebkhas (coppice dunes) have formed throughout the gobi desert regions of China in response to the decreased near-surface wind speed caused by vegetation, combined with deposition of aeolian sediment in and around the vegetation. Although nebkhas have been extensively studied on several land surfaces, they have not yet been fully described where they form in areas of gobi desert. Based on field investigations of nebkha morphology and adjacent land surface sediment content on and inside the surface of these dunes, the following were found: (i) the nebkhas that develop in gobi deserts consist of two types – dunes with or without a depositional tail (a shadow dune); (ii) the nebkhas in the area of gobi desert were smaller than those found in sandy deserts, oases, or other areas with a rich sediment source, with a mean height of 0.28 m, mean width 1.63 m and mean length 1.34 m; and (iii) the dune height, length and width were significantly positively linearly related to the vegetation height, length and width. These patterns were similar at all four of the study sites, but the relationships with dune width differed among the sites. The average particle-size distributions on and inside the vegetation did not differ between the four sites. However, significant spatial differences in the sediments on and inside the dunes indicate that nebkhas can capture both local and distant sediments driven by the wind. These findings suggest a potential role of nebkhas in dust emission, although this role must be confirmed in future research.  相似文献

Large areas in western China were wetlands or less arid between 40 and 30 ka, corresponding to the “Greatest Lake Period” on the adjacent Tibetan Plateau. During the last glacial maximum, some of these western Chinese deserts again experienced wetter conditions; however, at the same time the sandy lands in the eastern Chinese desert belt experienced an activation of aeolian dunes. While interpretations of the mid-Holocene environment in the deserts of China are controversial, it is quite likely that it was more humid not only in the eastern areas influenced by monsoon climate systems but also in the western deserts where moisture is currently associated with westerlies. Evaluation of lacustrine records in the lakes recharged by dryland rivers and the complex interactions of these systems, as well as other paleoenvironmental proxies such as the Artemisia/Chenopodiaceae ratio, should be interpreted with greater caution. Facing the highlighted uncertainties in our understanding of climate changes in Chinese deserts, it is hoped that this special issue will improve our knowledge considerably.  相似文献

The Bauru Basin was one of the great Cretaceous desert basins of the world, evolved in arid zone called Southern Hot Arid Belt. Its paleobiological record consists mainly of dinosaurs, crocodiles and turtles. The Bauru Basin is an extensive region of the South American continent that includes parts of the southeast and south of Brazil, covering an area of 370,000 km2. It is an interior continental basin that developed as a result of subsidence of the central-southern part of the South-American Platform during the Late Cretaceous (Coniacian–Maastrichtian). This sag basin is filled by a sandy siliciclastic sequence with a preserved maximum thickness of 480 m, deposited in semiarid to desert conditions. Its basement consists of volcanic rocks (mainly basalts) of the Lower Cretaceous (Hauterivian) Serra Geral basalt flows, of the Paraná-Etendeka Continental Flood Basalt Province. The sag basin was filled by an essentially siliciclastic psammitic sequence. In lithostratigraphic terms the sequence consists of the Caiuá and Bauru groups. The northern and northeastern edges of the basin provide a record of more proximal original deposits, such as associations of conglomeratic sand facies from alluvial fans, lakes, and intertwined distributary river systems. The progressive basin filling led to the burial of the basaltic substrate by extensive blanket sand sheets, associated with deposits of small dunes and small shallow lakes that retained mud (such as loess). Also in this intermediate context between the edges (more humid) and the interior (dry), wide sand sheet areas crossed by unconfined desert rivers (wadis) occurred. In the central axis of the elliptical basin a regional drainage system formed, flowing from northeast to southwest between the edges of the basin and the hot and dry inner periphery of the Caiuá desert (southwest). Life in the Bauru Basin flourished most in the areas with the greatest water availability, in which dinosaurs, crocodiles, turtles, fish, amphibians, molluscs, crustaceans, and charophyte algae lived. The fossil record mainly consists of transported bones and other skeletal fragments. In the northeastern and eastern marginal regions fossils are found in marginal alluvial fan deposits, broad plains of braided streams and ephemeral alkaline water lakes. In the basin interior the fossil record is related to deposits in sand sheets with braided streams, small dunes, and shallow lakes. In the great Caiuá inner desert a few smaller animals could survive (small reptiles and early mammals), sometimes leaving their footprints in dune foreset deposits. The Alxa Plateau has one of the highest frequencies of dust events in China and one of the greatest contributions to East Asian dust. We compiled climate and dust storm data for the Alxa Plateau based on observational data from ten meteorological stations from 1960 to 2005. Our analysis showed that Guaizihu and Minqin dust centers had >26 days per year with dust storms versus 7–13 days for other desert and Gobi regions on the plateau. Variations in dust storm frequency during the study period showed that dust storms increased during the 1960s (until 1972), decreased until the late 1990s, and then increased slightly until 2002. About 75.6% of dust storms occurred in March, April, May, June, and July. Between 78.2 and 88.1% of the dust storms occurred during the daytime and 28.9% of the dust storms occurred between 13:00 and 16:00. The mean durations of dust storms in the Alxa Plateau ranged from 715 to 3,462 min. The annual number of minutes of dust storms averaged >1,800 min in the western Alxa Plateau. Dust storm frequency was inversely related to duration: the longer the average duration, the lower the frequency of such storms.  相似文献

Silicate Nd-Sr isotopes of the fine-grained fractions of the 10 major deserts and sandy lands in North China and the loess in Chinese Loess Plateau were systematically investigated. Wide ranges in Nd-Sr isotopic compositions have been observed. The results of the <75 μm silicate fractions show that the Nd-Sr isotopic compositions of each desert are quite homogeneous and unique. According to the geographic distribution of the deserts and their Nd-Sr isotopes of both the <75 and <5 μm silicate fractions, three isotopic regions of Chinese deserts can be identified: (A) the deserts on the northern boundary of China, with the highest εNd(0) > −7.0; (B) the deserts on the northern margin of Tibetan Plateau, with εNd(0) ranging from −11.9 to −7.4; and (C) the deserts on the Ordos Plateau, with the lowest εNd(0) < −11.5. The distribution of the threes isotopic regions is controlled by the tectonic setting in North China, which implies that the materials of the deserts are derived from the locally eroded rocks from the surrounding mountains and the Nd-Sr isotopic signatures of these deserts could be quit stable over the past million years on the sub-tectonic time scales if there is any desert at those times. The Nd-Sr isotopic compositions of the loess are mostly close to those of the deserts in isotopic region B, suggesting that the main source regions of the last glacial loess in the Chinese Loess Plateau are Badain Jaran Desert, Tengger Desert, and Qaidam Desert. Also, the comparison between the Nd-Sr isotopes of the <5 μm silicate fractions of the deserts and the ancient dust falls in the North Pacific and Greenland show that the Asian end members of these dust falls are derived most from the deserts in the isotopic region B and less from those in the isotopic region C.  相似文献

In this study, magnetic techniques were used to characterize the surface soil from different geomorphologies (i.e., sand desert, oasis, Gobi, and dry lake) in Central Asia. Results demonstrate that the main magnetic minerals in the surface soil are magnetite, maghaemite and haematite with some paramagnetic materials. Cross plots of M rs/M s versus B cr/B c and χfd% versus χarm/saturation isothermal remanent magnetization (SIRM) indicate that the main magnetic grain sizes in surface soil are pseudo single domain (PSD) and multidomain (MD). The samples from West China (i.e., Tarim basin and Junggar basin) are dominated by magnetic minerals with larger grain size, while those from North China (i.e., Alxa plateau, Erdos plateau, and Mongolia plateau) are dominated by fine magnetic minerals. The similarity in magnetic mineral constitutions between the Chinese loess and the surface soils from Central Asia implies that the loess originated from a vast area of arid, semi-arid regions of Central Asia. The low value of concentration-dependent magnetic parameters indicates that the low concentration of magnetic minerals in the surface soils from Central Asia and the magnetic enhancement from the pedogenic take place in both the loess and the paleosols, although the progress is stronger in the latter. Two large sandy seas in northern China, the Taklamakan and Badanjilin deserts, were investigated for geochemical variations of soluble salts in aeolian sands. The aim was to explore factors influencing the composition and distribution of soluble salts in aeolian sands and their environmental implications. The total concentrations of soluble salt in the aeolian sands range between 0.14 and 1.32‰, with pH ranging between 8.4 and 9.6, indicating a primary degree of salt accumulation and alkaline soil conditions in these regions. Sodium chloride and bicarbonate are the major salts. High inter-regional homogenization and small local differences in the chemical compositions and distributional patterns of salt occur in the two deserts. The spatial variations in salt content correlate with regional climatic parameters, such as precipitation and temperature. This suggests that the regional air temperature and moisture conditions of climate have a significant influence on the soluble salts in aeolian sands. The domination of sedimentation of soluble salts in aeolian sands deposited via atmospheric processes, which is heavily associated with dry deposition, is discussed. Case studies from the two deserts suggest that variations in salt content in sedimentary sequences, interlaid by aeolian and lacustrine sediments, should be interpreted with care if the aim is to reveal palaeo-environmental changes. To a certain extent, the two deserts, as inferred from the carbon-bearing salts and the alkalinity of the sandy soils, appear to have potential to provide a significant contribution to the global carbon cycle.  相似文献

Wind-blown mineral dust derived from the crustal surface is an important atmospheric component affecting the Earth’s radiation budget. Deposition of dust particles was measured in snow on the Glacier No. 4, Mt Bogeda, in the eastern Tian Shan, China. The mean number concentration of dust particles with 0.57 < d < 26 μm in the snowpack is 279 × 103 mL?1, with a mean mass concentration of 1,480 μg kg?1. Dust number size distribution showed the dominant particles with d < 2 μm, while volume size distribution showed single-modal structures having volume median diameters from 3 to 25 μm. Results were compared with the data from other sites in the Tian Shan and various northern hemisphere sites. A backward trajectory model was also employed to examine the transport process of dust particles in this region. Most of the air mass originated from the southern and northwestern regions, e.g., the Taklimakan and Gurbantunggut deserts in springtime, during the Asian dust period, which may bring plentiful aerosol dust particles from the sandy deserts. Transport of dust from western Chinese deserts to adjacent mountains is in agreement with a growing body of evidence on the importance of dust inputs to alpine regions.  相似文献

The Cenozoic deformation of the Alxa Block resulted directly from the evolution of the northern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. However, many data show that the deformation occurred only in the Middle-Late Miocene. Our studies show that the Altyn Tagh fault did not pass through the Alxa Block; on the contrary it went along the southern boundary of the Jintai-Huahai Basin, linking with the Helishan—southern Longshoushan fault. Due to important tectonic events in the northern Qinghai-Tibetan plateau during the Middle-Late Miocene time, the northern plateau underwent rapid uplift and the plateau compressed the Hexi Corridor Region, resulting in a change from NS-trending to EW-trending structures in the Jinta-Huahai basin, and in the development of compressive structures in the Beishan. The southern Alxa fault underwent right lateral movement, and in the northern and central parts of the block, NS-trending Tertiary extensional structures formed. These basins controlled by Tertiary faults are similar to basins developed by lateral extrusion with a strong foreland and weak limited boundaries. The authors suggest that a regional “conjugate” fault system resulted from nearly NS-trending compression from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau during the Miocene and Pliocene in the Alxa Block and southern Mongolia. And due to the control of early structures in these regions, most brittle faults reactivated earlier ductile faults; NW–SE faults along the Altai Mountain and NE–SW faults to the southeast in Mongolia consist of a “conjugate” fault system to the north. The Altyn Tagh fault and southern Helishan-Longshoushan fault comprise a “conjugate” fault system to the south. The Beishan and Jinta-Huahai Basin occupied the convergent area between these two sets of faults; the compression controlled the Tertiary deposition and led to the development of the Cenozoic Jinta-Huahai Basin. The Alxa Block bounded by these two sets of faults moved eastwards, which resulted in the development of Cenozoic compressive structures to the west of Helan Shan, and superimposed early ductile shear zones along the northeastern and southwestern boundaries of the Alxa Block respectively. This model could explain the Cenozoic deformation occurring in and around the Alxa region.  相似文献

根据世界沙漠的分布特点和沙漠的发育条件,作者认为晚更新世末期渤海气候干冷,雨量稀少,西北风强盛,松散沉积物丰富,具备发育沙漠的条件.文章从以下方面证明渤海古沙漠的存在:(1)渤海约有四分之一区域为残留砂沉积;(2)在全新世盖层下的更新世砂质沉积具有高倾角的前积纹层;(3)渤海东南缘陆地和岛屿有古渤海沙漠衍生黄土分布.综合分析认为末次冰期时,渤海中部和辽东湾古沙漠发育程度好,渤海湾次之,莱州湾未发育沙漠.  相似文献

基于数字地图与遥感影像资料,通过分析土地利用格局与沙尘传输关系,研究了生态安全条件下土地利用结构优化的模式、方法与技术。研究表明:①亚洲生态安全条件下的土地利用/覆盖宏观三圈格局为: 内圈以自然保护为主的沙漠地带;中圈以建设人工草地为主,辅以大面积自然恢复的草原地带;外圈以农、林、牧复合为主的交错地带。中国处在宏观三圈格局的中东部,北方沙区是影响东亚沙尘暴的重要源区。②中国半干旱沙区土地利用呈现微观三圈模式,基于RS数据,依据“大面积搞生态,小面积搞生产”的原则进行的土地利用结构优化,提出了外圈沙丘地恢复天然草地生态用地——中圈草原地带大面积搞生态—小面积搞牧业生产——内圈甸子地高效农业生产用地的生态—生产范式。③典型区科尔沁沙地土地利用结构优化的成套技术,可为类似地区政府土地利用决策与生态补偿机制提供支持。  相似文献
