Major and trace elements are presented for the late Paleozoic radiolarian cherts, which were spatially associated with the NE Jiangxi ophiolite melange. These chert samples show relatively low SiO2 (78.40%-89.28%) and high Al2O3 (3.42%-11.02%). Low Si/Al ratios (6.3-23) and tight negative correlation between Si/Al and Al2O3 of the samples indicate that they are muddy cherts containing high and variable contents of pelitic detritus. Geochemically, they are characterized by Al2O3/(Al2O3+Fe2O3) = 0.51-0.90, shale-normalized Lan/Cen = 0.76-1.11, Ce/Ce* = 0.91-1.22, V<20μg/g, V/Y<2.6 and Ti/V>40, resembling those of cherts formed in the continental margin regimes. It is therefore concluded that these late Paleozoic radiolarian muddy cherts were most likely formed in a continental margin regime, and not genetically related to the ophiolite suite in NE Jiangxi. It is also unlikely that an oceanic basin existed between the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks during the late Paleozoic.  相似文献

The middle sector of the Yarlung Zangbo suture zone stretches over 200 km long from Ngamring through Geding to Rinbung, roughly along Yarlung Zangbo River valley (Fig. 1). The Caledonian North Qilian orogenic belt lies between the North China plate and the Qaidam mi-croplates, and resulted from the collision among the Qaidam microplate, mid-Qilian block and the North China plate. The orogen initiated from the rifting of the Late Proterozoic Rodinia, and then it experi-enced stages of Cambrian rift basin and Ordovician archipelagic oceanic basin, and foreland basin during Silurian to Early-Middle Devonian. The average ratios of Al/(Al Fe Mn), Al/(Al Fe), δ Ce, Lan/Ybn and Lan/Cen from cherts of Cambrian Heicigou Formation are 0.797, 0.627, 1.114, 0.994 and 1.034 re-spectively. In the NAS standardized REE distribution pattern, the cherts from Xiangqianshan is slightly HREE enriched, and the cherts from Ganluci and Shiqingdong are plane. All of these features indicated that Cambrian cherts of the Heicigou Formation originated from a continental margin rift background. On the contrary, the average ratios of Al/(Al Fe Mn), Al/(Al Fe), δ Ce, Lan/Ybn, Lan/Cen of the Ordovician chert from Dakecha, Cuijiadun, Shihuigou, Laohushan, Heicigou, Maomaoshan, Bianmagou, Da-chadaban, Baiquanmen, Jiugequan and Angzanggou, are respectively 0.72, 0.58, 0.99, 1.09 and 0.96 respectively. Their NAS standardized REE distribution patterns of most Ordovician cherts are plane mode or slightly HREE enriched. The REE distribution pattern of few samples of cherts are slightly LREE enriched. Characteristics of sedimentary geochemistry and tectonic evolution demonstrated that the Cambrian-Ordovician cherts, associated with rift, oceanic, island arc and back-arc volcanic rocks, was not formed in a typical abyssal oceanic basin or mid-oceanic ridge. On the contrary, they formed in a deepwater basin of continental margin or a archipelagic ocean tectonic setting. Several Early Paleo-zoic ophiolite belts in North Qilian and adjacent periphery Qaidam microplate imply that an archipelagic ocean during Ordovician existed in the east of Pro-Tethys.  相似文献

Ladinian radiolarian fauna, including Muelleritortis, Baumgartneria, Oertlispongus, Paroertlispongus, Pseudoertlispongus, etc., was discovered from the siliceous rock of the Runiange Formation in the Xianshuihe belt, West Sichuan Province. Geochemical test on five samples from the siliceous rock indicates that SiO2 content varies in 71.16%-90.06% and Si/Al ratio, in 49-71, which shows that the siliceous rock contains more terrigenous mud sediments. The siliceous rock is characterized by the large ratios of Al2O3/(Al2O3+Fe2O3) (0.63-0.81) and Ti/V (>26), the low ratio of V/Y (<2.8), and low vanadium content (<23 μg/g), which are similar to the geochemical characteristics of continental margin siliceous rock. The Ce/Ce* ratios of the four samples vary in 1.02-1.47 and the LaN/CeN ratio, in 0.75-1.07, which imply that the siliceous rock was deposited in the continental margin basin. Systematic studies of the ophiolites and associated volcanics stretching more than 1500 km from the Derni-Nanping-Pipasi-Kangxian area in the west to the Qingshuihe area of the south Dabie Mountains in the east indicate the existence of a suture zone (the Mianl(u)e suture)and a vanished paleo-ocean basin (the Mianlue paleo-ocean basin) in the region. From west to east, ophiolitic melange associations distribute discontinuously along the suture. Rock assemblages include ophiolite, island arc and oceanic island rock series. The Mianlue paleo-ocean basin experienced its major formation and expending episode during the Carboniferous-Permian period. The finding of the suture zone and the paleo-ocean basin is tectonically significant in timing the collision between the North China-Qinling and Yangtze blocks and determining the formation and evolution of the Qinling orogenic belt.  相似文献

The organic matter-rich strata of the Yurtusi Formation of Lower Cambrian are wildly spread and steady in the Tarim Basin, in which cherts are developed, companied with phosphorite. Al/(Al+Fe+Mn) ratio and Si/(Si+Al+Fe) ratio of cherts range from 0.0023 to 0.0046 and 0.965 to 0.98, respectively, suggesting that cherts are formed in submarine hydrothermal activity and far away from terrestrial. Trace elements, such as As, Hg, Pb, Zn, Cu, Co, P, V, Ba, etc., are markedly rich in organic matter-rich sedimentary rocks of which Ba/Sr ratios are between 21.2 and 158.1. Compared with modern hydrothermal sediments, their Ba/Sr ratios are similar, it indicates that the organic matter-rich strata have the geochemical feature of submarine hydrothermal sediments. The total content of rare earth elements (ЕREE) in cherts is from 8.81 to 56.682 μg/g, on average 31.41 μg/g and the ΕREE of cherts is between continental margin chert's and abyssal chert's. The LREE/HREE ratio of cherts varies from 1.01 to 3.56, which reveals the characteristics of hydrothermal sediments. There is positive correlation between the total organic content (TOC) and Ba/Sr ratio which is geochemical index of submarine hydrothermal activity, which indicates that the submarine hydrothermal activity obviously influences the richness of organic matter in the Yurtusi Formation.  相似文献

The stratigraphical sequences composed of chert and basalt were found in the Daxinshan area of Simao and the Manbie area of Jinghong, southwestern Yunnan. The Middle Permian to ealiest Late Permian radiolarians, such as Follicucullus and Pseudoalbaillella, have been identified from the chert. The chert from the Manbie area of Jinghong is characterized by high SiO2content (over 92%), large ratios of MnO/TiO2 (2.15) and low ratios of Al/(Al+Fe+Mn) (≤0.1) and Ce/Ce*(0.4), which indicate that the chert was deposited in pelagic basin. The chert from the Daxinshan area of Simao, however, is characterized by low SiO2 content, low ratios of MnO/TiO2 (0.27) and high ratios of Al/(Al+Fe+Mn) (0.49) and Ce/Ce*(0.88), which imply that the chert was deposited in continental margin basin. The basalts from the both areas belong to tholeiite series, and the chemical compositions of their major, rare earth and trace elements show the characteristics of MORB. These results evidence that there are volcanic rocks and chert sequences representing pelagic basin and oceanic basin near continent. These sequences and the formerly reported island-arc volcanic rock sequences imply that the Daxinshan Formation in the Lancangjiang belt represents a sedimentary assemblage formed in active continental margin basin.  相似文献

The Sanchazi mafic-ultramafic complex in Mianlue tectonic zone, South Qinling can be subdivided into two blocks, i.e. Sanchazi paleo-magmatic arc and Zhuangkegou paleo-oceanic crust fragment (ophiolite). The Sanchazi paleo-magmatic arc is mainly composed of andesite, basaltic and basalt-andesitic gabbro (or diorite), andesitic dyke, plagiogranite and minor ultramafic rocks, which have typical geochemical features of island arc volcanic rocks, such as high field strength element (e.g. Nb, Ti) depletions and lower Cr, Ni contents. The Light rare earth element (LREE) and K enrichments of these rocks and zircon xenocrystals of 900 Ma from plagiogranite suggest that this magmatic arc was developed on the South active continental margin of the South Qinling micro-continent. The U-Pb age of (300 ± 61)Ma for zircons from plagiogranite indicates that the Mianlue paleo-oceanic crust was probably subducted underneath the South Qinling micro-continent in Carboniferous. This is consistent with the formation time (309Ma) of the Huwan eclogite originating from oceanic subduction in Dabie Mountains, suggesting that the Mianlue paleo-ocean probably extended eastward to the Dabie Mountains in Carboniferous. The high-Mg adakitic rocks in Sanchazi paleo-magmatic arc suggest that the subducted oceanic crust was relatively young (<25Ma) and hot.  相似文献

The existence and subduction of the eastern Mianlue oceanic basin in the south Qinling belt are keys to understand the Qinling orogen. Based on geological mapping, several volcanic slices have been identified in Tumen, Zhoujiawan, Xiaofu and Yuantan areas, which distribute in the northern margin of the Dahong Mountains (DHM), and thrust into the Sanligang-Sanyang fault. These slices consist mainly of diabases, basaltic-andesitic lavas, pyroclastic rocks and a minor tuff. The geochemistry of the basalts, andesites, and diabases is characterized by depleting in Nb and Ta, enriching in Th and LILE (e.g.K, Rb, Ba), and undifferentiating in HFSE. These geochemical characteristics suggest that the original magma of these rocks was derived from a mantle wedge above a subduction zone, and formed in an island-arc setting in Carboniferous-early Triassic. Comparing with the ophiolites and island-arc volcanic rocks in Mianxian-Lueyang area to the west, it is reasonable to consider that there had been an oceanic basin connecting with the Mianlue ancient ocean to the westward, distributing along the south edge of the Tongbai-Dabie block. In view of the ophiolite in Huashan area and these island-arc volcanic rocks along the north of the Dahong Mountains, it is suggested that there had been a plate tectonic evolutionary history with oceanic basin rifting and subduction in this region.  相似文献

Here we report a detailed trace element study of the cherts from Liuchapo Formation, which is a terminal Ediacaran (551-542 Ma) succession in South China deposited in deep-water basinal setting. The REE of Liuchapo cherts shows similar features as observed for anoxic modern seawater (but not for hydrothermal fluids), characterized by positive La anomaly (LaN/CeN = 0.83–1.91, average 1.37), moderately negative Ce anomaly (0.53–1.1, average 0.73), positive Gd anomaly (average 1.08), positive Y anomaly (average 1.21), and depleted LREE and MREE. In addition, the Liuchapo cherts have low ΣREE (3.36–56.13 ppm, average 20.6 ppm), low Al2O3, Ti, Th and Zr concentrations, and high Y/Ho ratios (up to 43.9). The redox-sensitive trace elements concentrations in the cherts do not correlate with detrital input proxies. All of these features suggest that the redox-sensitive trace elements in the cherts were authigenically concentrated in water column and their concentrations thus are excellent indicators of ancient redox conditions. Very low Th/U ratios, high V/(V+Ni) and Fe/Al ratios, enrichments of redox-sensitive trace elements (U, V, Mo), and low concentration of Mn in the cherts imply anoxia in the deep seawater. Our data reveal that the terminal Ediacaran ocean was not completely oxidized and the deep ocean was still anoxic, at least in South China. We propose that although the oxidative events existed in the terminal Ediacaran oceans, decomposition of organic matter prolonged anoxia in the deep ocean. The 65 whole-rock REE samples studied come from the classic sections of Early Cambrian to Early Silurian in the Yichang area, Hubei Province. REE concentrations tested on ICP-AES are normalized to the North American Shale Composite (NASC), and Ce anomaly values are calculated based on log[ 3Cen/(2Lan+Ndn)] . With the whole-rock Ce anomaly used as a quantitative index of sea-level changes, 5 prominent eustatic circles are recognized, and a good corresponding relationship is observed between the black shale episodes and the transgressive events. On account of the global distributions of coeval black shales and the specified paleogeographic background of South China, a genetic hypothesis based on the model of O2-minimum zone expansion is suggested for the Early Paleozoic multi-episode black shales in South China.  相似文献

The oxidation state of iron can significantly influence the physical and chemical properties of lower mantle minerals. To improve methods for estimation of Fe3+/∑Fe, synthetic assemblages of (Mg,Fe)(Si,Al)O3 perovskite and (Mg,Fe)O ferropericlase were synthesised from oxide starting mixtures in Re or Fe capsules at 26 GPa and 1650-1850 °C using a multianvil press. (Mg,Fe)(Si,Al)O3 majorite was also present in some of the run products. Both electron energy loss spectra (EELS) and Mössbauer spectra were measured for each run product, and a robust fitting method was developed for Mössbauer spectra using EELS results as a standard that enabled Fe3+/∑Fe of (Mg,Fe)(Si,Al)O3 perovskite to be determined from Mössbauer spectra of multiphase assemblages. There is a close to linear variation between Fe3+/∑Fe and Al concentration in (Mg,Fe)(Si,Al)O3 perovskite, independent of oxygen fugacity. The concentration of Fe3+ in (Mg,Fe)O increases with increasing iron concentration along curves of constant oxygen fugacity, where higher oxygen fugacity stabilises greater Fe3+ concentrations. Fe2+/Mg partition coefficients calculated from chemical composition data corrected for measured Fe3+/∑Fe showed values nearly identical within experimental error for all samples, and independent of Al concentration and oxygen fugacity. Simple empirical relations were derived to calculate Fe3+/∑Fe in (Mg,Fe)(Si,Al)O3 perovskite and (Mg,Fe)O ferropericlase samples for which no Mössbauer or EELS data were available, and tested by applying them to calculation of Fe2+/Mg partition coefficients from literature data for (Mg,Fe)(Si,Al)O3 perovskite-(Mg,Fe)O assemblages where only total iron concentrations had been measured. Results showed Fe2+/Mg partition coefficients that were equal to existing values within experimental error, hence confirming the validity of the empirical relations.  相似文献

The mafic-ultramafic assemblages, which thrustthrust into the Wushan-Tangzang boundary fault as some blocks and outcropped in the Yuanyangzhen, Lijiahe, Lubangou and Gaojiahe area, consist mainly of meta-peridotites, gabbros and basalts. The meta-peridotites are characterized by high SiO2 and MgO contents, low ΣREE, as well as their chondrite-normalized rare earth element patterns show some similarities to that of middle oceanic meta-peridotite. The basalts from the Yuanyangzhen, Lijiahe and Lubangou area are characterized by relatively high TiO2 content, low Al2O3 content and Na2O>>K2O. Above all, it is the slight enrichment or flat REE distribution patterns and the unfractionated in HFS elements in the primitive-normalized trace elements distribution patterns that indicate these basalts are similar to that of the typical E-MORB. In comparison, the basalts from the Gaojiahe section are featured by depletion in Nb and Ta contents and enrichment in Th content which show that these were derived from an island-arc setting. From studies of the regional geology, petrology, geochemistry, geo-chronology and all above evidence, it can be suggested that the mafic-ultramafic rocks from the Wushan area are mainly dismembered E-MORB type ophiolite, which represent the fragments of the lithosphere of the Early-Paleozoic Qinling ocean. It is preferred that these rocks were formed in an initial mid-ocean ridge setting during the beginning stage of the oceanic basin spreading. This ophiolite together with the Gaojiahe island-arc basalts shows that there exists an ophiolitic mélange along the Wushan-Tangzang boundary fault, and marks the suture zone after the closure of the Qinling ocean in early Paleozoic.

矿产远景地质调查过程中,在江西华齐铜多金属矿区发现含矿硅质岩。测试分析显示,区内硅质岩贫A l2O3、T iO2,Co、C r等元素含量低,贫ΣREE,δ(Eu)为负异常,δ(C e)为弱正异常,HREE相对富集等热水沉积物的特征。在判别硅质岩形成的系列图解上,样品均指示热水沉积作用和大陆边缘环境,这与S iO2/A l2O3、S iO2/(K2O+N a2O)、S iO2/M gO、M nO/T iO2、K/R b等特征值所指示的结果相一致。本区硅质岩地球化学特征及其对比结果说明该区域构造演化的复杂性。在元古代华南海槽构造演化中在华夏地块边缘发生断裂拉张,形成断陷盆地,并发生了热水喷流沉积成岩成矿作用。本区硅质岩与成矿关系密切,研究硅质岩对于认识区域构造演化及寻找矿化体具有重要意义。  相似文献

本文利用奥陶系米钵山组砂岩地球化学分析,结合区域地质研究,探讨贺兰山中、晚奥陶世的构造环境。贺兰山中段奥陶系米钵山组砂岩的地球化学研究表明,砂岩的siO2平均含量为81.3%;A120。/Si02值0.07~0.11,平均值为0.08;K20/Na20值变化较大,最大60.7,一般介于4.79~7.81;Fe2O3+MgO含量较低,介于2.1%~2.81%。砂岩微量元素Nb丰度及V/(V+Ni)与Ce/La、Sr/Ba值均较高,说明砂岩沉积于湿热、还原、低盐度环境,具有大陆型沉积特征。砂岩稀土元素富集,含量在116×10^-6~195×10^-6之间,平均值为158×10~;8Eu为0.52~0.58,具显著的负铕异常。这些数据指示了米钵山组具有重力流快速堆积的特征和大量陆源补给,浊流沉积作用是重力流携带陆源物质的主要途径。通过多种构造环境判别图解分析,显示物源区地质构造具有被动大陆边缘性质。  相似文献

本文分析了陕西区域地震台网2006年1月到2015年7月的近震波形资料,采用剪切波分裂系统分析方法(SAM),获得了秦岭造山带及两侧区域17个台站的快波偏振方向和慢剪切波时间延迟.结果显示,剪切波分裂参数具有明显的分区特征.鄂尔多斯内部和渭河盆地的台站表现出NE-SW和NEE-SWW向的快波偏振方向,与华北地块区域主压应力方向一致;鄂尔多斯西南部,处于多个地块过渡区,积累了大量的应变,该区快波偏振方向较为复杂,反映了该区复杂的区域构造;南秦岭以勉略缝合带为界,北部为秦岭微板块,南部为扬子地块北缘.秦岭微板块地区台站快剪切波优势偏振方向为NWW-SEE向,与华南地块应力方向一致;扬子地块北缘地区台站表现出NE-SW向的快波优势偏振方向,可能受到青藏高原向东北扩张的影响.本文得到的快剪切波优势偏振方向与秦岭造山带被商丹缝合带和勉略缝合带分割的构造划分方案一致.研究区内,扬子地块北缘地区慢剪切波时间延迟最大,可能反映该区各向异性强于其他区域.本文的研究结果为进一步了解区域应力场特征和动力学过程提供了重要参考.  相似文献

At the top of the Lower Permian Maokou Formation limestones are developed carbonaceous cherts(Plm3),which constitute the dominant seleniferous layer of the Yutangba Se deposit.The cherts contain as much Se as 1646×10?6 on average.In addition,they are rich in organic carbon,Al2O3,Si2O,but poor in S.In addition to Se,as well as Mo,Cd,V,and Co,etc are also highly enriched in the cherts.The chert samples are characterized by low ?REE,slight LREE enrichment,relatively heavy Si isotope enrichment,and insignificant variations in ? 30Si value within the range of 1.1‰-1.2‰.Generally,it can be judged from the major element,trace element and REE data and the Si isotopic characteristics that the Yutangba seleniferous cherts were formed in the shallow sea to semi-deep sea anoxic environments and their formation is controlled chiefly by bio-chemical processes.  相似文献

The dissolved (<0.40 γm) fraction of water samples from Newark Bay, New Jersey was analysed for Zn, Cu and Pb content by differential pulse anodic stripping polarographic techniques. In the dissolved fraction, non-labile forms of Zn, Cu and Pb exist as shown by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry analysis on acidified samples and acidified-UV irradiated samples. The particulate fraction (>;0.40 μm) contains metals in the form of sulphides (Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn), oxides and oxyhydroxides (Si, Al, Fe, Cu, Ni, Sn), phosphate (Ca, Ce, La), clay minerals (Fe, Zn, Cu, Ti) and carbonaceous material (Fe, Cu, Zn) as demonstrated by X-ray microanalysis. The solid phases are likely present in colloidal form in the dissolved fraction of the water column as well. The forms of the metals in the water column are partially due to the resuspension of bottom sediments by dredging and natural processes, to sewage outfall and to natural geochemical processes.  相似文献
