From the LRS spectra of almost 2000 IRAS sources showing the 1612 MHz OH emission we found 9 candidates for OH/IR stars with SiC features in their envelopes. Further study indicates that 6 of these are definitely or very probably carbon star with the 11.3 μm SiC emission feature in addition of being OH/IR stars showing the 1612 MHz OH maser emission.  相似文献

Basic ideas concerning the nature of young T Tauri stars (TTS) are briefly outlined and some examples of spectral investigations of those stars are considered. The photometric and spectral variability of TTS is believed to be due to circumstellar extinction, magnetic activity, and accretion of matter from the circumstellar disk onto the stellar surface. In the 1990s, a series of high resolution spectra of several TTS were obtained using the SOFIN echelle spectrograph with the Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT). In particular, the emission lines in the spectra of the star RW Aur A were shown to be rotationally modulated with a period of 2.7 days, which was interpreted in terms of the magnetospheric accretion model with an inclined magnetic rotator. The spectra of TTS obtained using the UVES spectrograph with the VLT demonstrated that the effect of veiling the photospheric spectrum, usually attributed to accretion, was largely due to chromospheric extinction. The accretion is suggested to be a complementary heating source in chromospheres of TTS.  相似文献

13CO(1-0)and C18O(1-0)emissions in the NGC 1333/IRAS6–9 star forming region were mapped with the 13.7 m millimeter wave telescope of Purple Mountain Observatory. The areas covered are 10.3′ × 10′ for 13CO(1-0)and 6.8′ × 8′ for C18O(1-0), respectively. Several new compact molecular cores were discovered and a bipolar outflow of 13CO(1-0)was identified along the SSV12-IRAS8 direction. We present the observed properties and derived the physical parameters for all the 13CO(1-0)and C18O(1-0)cores. The core distribution and velocity structure are analyzed for this region. The relationship between cores, bipolar outflow and crowded young stellar objects (including infrared sources and HH objects) is also discussed in detail.  相似文献

K -band spectra of young stellar candidates in four Southern hemisphere clusters have been obtained with the Gemini Near-Infrared Spectrograph in Gemini South. The clusters are associated with IRAS sources that have colours characteristic of ultracompact H  ii regions. Spectral types were obtained by comparison of the observed spectra with those of a near-infrared (NIR) library; the results include the spectral classification of nine massive stars and seven objects confirmed as background late-type stars. Two of the studied sources have K -band spectra compatible with those characteristic of very hot stars, as inferred from the presence of C  iv , N  iii and N  v emission lines at 2.078, 2.116 and 2.100 μm, respectively. One of them, I16177_IRS1, has a K -band spectrum similar to that of Cyg OB2 7, an O3If* supergiant star. The nebular K -band spectrum of the associated Ultra-Compact (UC) H  ii region shows the s-process [Kr  iii ] and [Se  iv ] high excitation emission lines, previously identified only in planetary nebula. One young stellar object was found in each cluster, associated with either the main IRAS source or a nearby resolved Midecourse Space eXperiment ( MSX ) component, confirming the results obtained from previous NIR photometric surveys. The distances to the stars were derived from their spectral types and previously determined JHK magnitudes; they agree well with the values obtained from the kinematic method, except in the case of IRAS  15408−5356  , for which the spectroscopic distance is about a factor of 2 smaller than the kinematic value.  相似文献

We review status of theoretical development for jets and molecular outflows from young stellar objects. A particular framework for explaining these phenomena is one based on the X-wind theory in an environment of magnetized collapsing molecular cloud cores. The magnetized gravitational collapse follows the standard picture of isolated low-mass star formation, from quasi-static evolution of the parent molecular cloud cores. The outflow phenomena operate throughout the early evolution of young stars as a result of star-disk interaction. We discuss emission mechanisms of jets and formation of molecular outflows in this general framework. The general theoretical framework provides room for self-consistent interpretations for recent observations. Jets and outflows are integral part of earliest evolution of young stellar objects.  相似文献

We present the results of our photometric (V RI) and spectroscopic observations of the young variable star V730 Cep (MisV1147) classified by Uemura et al. (2004) as a Herbig Be star. Our photometry confirms the conclusion of the above authors that this star has a complex pattern of variability including periodic or quasi-periodic brightness variations with a period of about 14 days and deep Algol-like minima typical for UX Ori stars. Our spectroscopy shows that the classification of V730 Cep as a Herbig Be star is wrong. Actually, this star has a much lower temperature and belongs to the family of T Tauri stars. This allows us to explain the nature of the unusual photometric activity of V730 Cep based on a combination of two well-known models of variable circumstellar extinction applied to young stars: AA Tau- and UX Oritype variability. It follows from our observations that the color tracks on the V ?(V ?I) color–magnitude diagram for these models slightly differ: the AA Tau-type variability of circumstellar extinction is caused by larger grains than the UX Ori-type variability. Such a difference can be due to an increase in the characteristic sizes of circumstellar dust as the star is approached and has a simple explanation: small dust grains evaporate faster than large ones.  相似文献

Photoelectric Vilnius photometry of the B-type stars HD 29 647 and HDE 283 809 in the direction of the Taurus molecular cloud indicates their brightness and energy distribution to be constant within 1–2%. The interstellar extinction law is determined for the star HDE 283 809 from the photometry data in the Vilnius andUBVRJHKL systems, which yield the ratioR=A V/EB-V=3.5 and grain sizes exceeding the average by approximately 10%. The interstellar extinction law for the two stars is found to be the same in the infrared, however, it is very different in the near ultraviolet. The new spectra of HDE 283 809 confirm the earlier classification and indicate an absence of emission in the hydrogen lines. The interstellar band at 443 nm is observed but its intensity is a half of what is expected forE B-V=1.61. The observed peculiarities of the energy distribution in the spectrum of HDE 283 809 apparently originate in interstellar or circumstellar dust, not in the star itself.Operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc., under contract with the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

Radical readjustments in the photometric activity of young stars owing to sudden changes in the circumstellar extinction are discussed using the light curves of two UX Ori type stars, CQ Tau and V1184 Tau, as examples. Changes of this sort can be caused by large deviations from axial symmetry in the distribution of circumstellar dust, as well as by large variations in the mass accretion rate in circumstellar disks. We report on SWS and LWS observations of the circumstellar disks of young stars of a few solar masses. The ISO spectra of these objects present a diversity of emission features of carbon-rich and oxygen-rich grains. The similarity of the forsterite spectra observed for Comet Hale-Bopp and the Haebe star HD100546 is particularly striking and provides a new argument that huge comet swarms are formed in the disks surrounding young stars. While the data suggest that the formation of crystalline silicates in the dust disks essentially occurs when a Haebe star has already reached the main sequence, no clear correlation with stellar age only is apparent. We obtained low resolution (R=100) mid-infrared (8–13 μm wavelengths) spectra of 8 nearby young main sequence stars with the Keck 1 telescope and Long-Wavelength Spectrometer (LWS) to search for 10 μm silicate (Si–O stretch) emission from circumstellar dust. No stars exhibited readily apparent emission: Spectra were then analyzed by least-squares fitting of a template based on a spectrum of Comet Hale-Bopp. Using this technique, we were able to constrain the level of silicate emission to a threshold 10 times below what was previously possible from space. We found one star, HD 17925, with a spectrum statistically different from its calibrator and consistent with a silicate emission peak of 7% of the photosphere at a wavelength of 10 μm. Excess emission at 60 μm from this star has already been reported.  相似文献

We present new high- and low-resolution spectroscopic and photometric data of nine members of the young association CMa R1. All the stars have circumstellar dust at some distance, as could be expected from their association with reflection nebulosity. Four stars (HD 52721, HD 53367, LkH α  220 and LkH α  218) show H α emission and we argue that they are Herbig Be stars with discs. Our photometric and spectroscopic observations of these stars reveal new characteristics of their variability. We present first interpretations of the variability of HD 52721, HD 53367 and the two LkH α stars in terms of a partially eclipsing binary, a magnetic activity cycle and circumstellar dust variations, respectively. The remaining five stars show no clear indications of H α emission in their spectra, although their spectral types and ages are comparable with those of HD 52721 and HD 53367. This indicates that the presence of a disc around a star in CMa R1 may depend on the environment of the star. In particular we find that all H α emission stars are located at or outside the arc-shaped border of the H  ii region, which suggests that the stars inside the arc have lost their discs through evaporation by UV photons from nearby O stars, or from the nearby (<25 pc) supernova, about 1 Myr ago.  相似文献

给出恒星形成区GGD12-15的宽波段JHK和窄波段H2v=1-0S(1)近红外成像观测.观测图像揭示了致密的年轻红外星团和与红外源成协的红外星云,并发现了以H2发射结表征的星团外流活动.大多数红外点源在光学波段不可见;对76颗红外点源的JHK′测光结果显示,有32颗具有红外超,其中5颗表现原恒星特征,表明分子云中的恒星形成活动很活跃.以B8光谱型作为大质量星分界,由色星等图估计出大质量星所占星团比例为-10%~26%.GGD12—15星团的K′星等分布的峰值位于15.0mag,并在13.0mag-16.0mag平坦分布;[H—K′]色分布的峰值出现在-0.7mag,在此以上更红的星团成分占70%.在GGD12-15区新发现的氢分子发射结集中在星团中心领域,其空间分布明显与剧烈的恒星形成活动相关;有5个发射结位于分子外流的中心区域,暗示其激发可能与分子外流同源.  相似文献

Studies of circumstellar dust and gas in pre-main-sequence systems are in part motivated by a desire to probe possible sites of future or on-going planet formation and, should accretion onto young stars be taking place, to determine whether the observed remnants of embryonic envelopes might yet contribute significantly to the final masses of stars as they evolve towards the main sequence. New 0.35- to 1.3-mm flux measurements have been made for 13 intermediate-mass pre-MS systems in order to estimate total dust+gas masses and to investigate the spatial distribution of circumstellar material. At least two sources may be dominated by compact circumstellar disks; emission from extended envelopes appears to be important for the majority of sources. HD 163296 is an unusual object and warrants further examination.  相似文献

We have detected X-ray emission (1 keV) from young intermediate-mass stars (Herbig Ae/Be stars). Since these stars are not supposed to produce intrinsic X-ray emission (no convection, no coronae), we believe that our results suggest that the X-ray emission actually traces the shock interaction of the Ae/Be star stellar winds with remnant circumstellar matter left over from the star formation process, the presence of which is also indicated by far-infrared (IRAS) and submm/mm continuum data.  相似文献

We present optical spectra of four intermediate-mass candidate young stellar objects that have often been classified as Herbig Ae/Be stars. Typical Herbig Ae/Be emission features are not present in the spectra of these stars. Three of them, HD 36917, HD 36982 and HD 37062, are members of the young Orion nebula cluster (ONC). This association constrains their ages to be ≲1 Myr. The lack of appreciable near-infrared excess in them suggests the absence of hot dust close to the central star. However, they do possess significant amounts of cold and extended dust as revealed by the large excess emission observed at far-infrared wavelengths. The fractional infrared luminosities  ( L ir/ L )  and the dust masses computed from IRAS fluxes are systematically lower than those found for Herbig Ae/Be stars but higher than those for Vega-like stars. These stars may thus represent the youngest examples of the Vega phenomenon known so far. In contrast, the other star in our sample, HD 58647, is more likely to be a classical Be star, as is evident from the low   L ir/ L   , the scarcity of circumstellar dust, the low polarization, the presence of H α emission and near-infrared excess, and the far-infrared spectral energy distribution consistent with free–free emission similar to other well-known classical Be stars.  相似文献

Photometric observations at optical and near-infrared wavelengths are presented for members of a new sample of candidate Vega-like systems, or main sequence stars with excess infrared emission due to circumstellar dust. The observations are combined with IRAS fluxes to define the spectral energy distributions of the sources. Most of the sources show only photospheric emission at near-IR wavelengths, indicating a lack of hot (∼1000 K) dust. Mid-infrared spectra are presented for four sources from the sample. One of them, HD 150193, shows strong silicate emission, while another, HD 176363, was not detected. The spectra of two stars from our previous sample of Vega-like sources both show UIR-band emission, attributed to hydrocarbon materials. Detailed comparisons of the optical and IRAS positions suggest that in some cases the IRAS source is not physically associated with the visible star. Alternative associations are suggested for several of these sources. Fractional excess luminosities are derived from the observed spectral energy distributions. The values found are comparable to those measured previously for other Vega-like sources.  相似文献

It is shown that the observed variety in macrostructures of continuous spectra in the ultraviolet (2000–3000 Å) of hot stars is a result of the presence of circumstellar clouds around such stars. A method for calculations of synthetic spectra, originating as a result of passage of central star photospheric radiation through its own circumstellar cloud, is developed. It introduces a new idea of spectral class for circumstellar cloud, and a recommended method for its determination depending from the spectral class of central star and cloud's parameters (Figure 2). The results of calculations of synthetic spectra for the four combinations of system star+cloud are presented (Figures 7-10). The strongest influence of circumstellar cloud in ultraviolet is discovered on A-class stars (Figure 13). Graphic relations are introduced for determination of cloud power by observed parameters of synthetic spectra (Figures 14 and 15).It establishes an important fact for an understanding of the nature of circumstellar clouds and processes occurring in them, according to which the selective absorption in such clouds stimulatesresonance lines only, the largest number of which lies in the ultraviolet in the region of 2100–2600 Å (Figure 1). An absence of visible signs of the effect of circumstellar clouds on continuous spectra of stars in visual region can be explained by a very small number of resonance lines in this region.Lastly, the possibility of determination of physical and geometric parameters of circumstellar clouds from stellar continuous spectra in the ultraviolet is analysed.  相似文献

Copious mass loss on the Asymptotic Giant Branch dominates the late stages of stellar evolution. Maps of extended circumstellar envelopes provide a history of mass loss and trace out anisotropic mass loss. This review concentrates on observations of millimeter wavelength molecular line emission, on high resolution maps of maser emission and on observations of submillimeter, millimeter and radio wavelength continuum emission. Radio continuum observations show that AGB stars are larger at radio than at optical wavelengths. The extended chromospheres indicated by these observations extend to distances from the star large enough for dust to form, thereby initiating mass loss. Molecular line maps have found time-variable mass loss for some stars, including detached shells indicating interrupted mass loss and evidence for a rapid increase in the mass loss rate at the end of the AGB phase. Maps of circumstellar envelopes show evidence of flattening, bipolar outflow and angular variations in both the mass loss rate and the outflow velocity. As stars evolve away from the AGB and planetary nebula formation begins, these structures become more pronounced, and fast bipolar molecular winds are observed. The time scales derived from the dynamical times of these winds and from the expansion rates of the central planetary nebulae are very rapid in some cases, about 100 years, in agreement with the predictions of stellar evolution theory.  相似文献

The European VLBI Network (EVN) has been used to make phase referenced, wide-field (several arcminute) spectral line observations of the 6.7-GHz methanol maser emission towards W51. In the W51 Main region, the bulk of the methanol is offset from an UCHii region. This probably indicates the methanol emission arises at the interface of the expanding UCHii region and not from an edge-on circumstellar disc, as previously suggested. Near the W51 IRS2 region, the methanol emission is associated with a very compact, extremely embedded source supporting the hypothesis that methanol masers trace the earliest stages of massive star formation. As well as these two well-studied sites of star formation, many previously unknown regions star formation are detected, demonstrating that methanol masers are powerful means of detecting young massive stars.  相似文献
