An attempt has been made to study the marine boundary layer characteristics over Bay of Bengal using BOBMEX (Bay of Bengal and Monsoon Experiment) pilot experiment data sets, which was conducted between 23rd October and 12th November 1998 on board ORV Sagar Kanya. A one-dimensional multilevel atmospheric boundary layer with TKE-ε closure scheme is employed to study the marine boundary layer characteristics. In this study two synoptic situations are chosen: one represents an active convection case and the other a suppressed convection. In the present article the marine boundary layer characteristics such as temporal evolution of turbulent kinetic energy, height of the boundary layer and the airsea exchange processes such as sensible and latent heat fluxes, drag coefficient for momentum are simulated during both active and suppressed convection. Marine boundary layer height is estimated from the vertical profiles of potential temperature using the stability criterion. The model simulations are compared with the available observations.  相似文献

The use of energy fluxes data to validate land surface models requires that energy balance closure conservation is satisfied, but usually this condition is not verified when the available energy is bigger than the sum of turbulent vertical fluxes. In this work, a comprehensive evaluation of energy balance closure problems is performed on a 2012 data set from Livraga obtained by a micrometeorological eddy covariance station located in a maize field in the Po Valley. Energy balance closure is calculated by statistical regression of turbulent energy fluxes and soil heat flux against available energy. Generally, the results indicate a lack of closure with a mean imbalance in the order of 20%. Storage terms are the main reason for the unclosed energy balance but also the turbulent mixing conditions play a fundamental role in reliable turbulent flux estimations. Recently introduced in literature, the energy balance problem has been studied as a scale problem. A representative source area for each flux of the energy balance has been analyzed and the closure has been performed in function of turbulent flux footprint areas. Surface heterogeneity and seasonality effects have been studied to understand the influence of canopy growth on the energy balance closure. High frequency data have been used to calculate co-spectral and ogive functions, which suggest that an averaging period of 30 min may miss temporal scales that contribute to the turbulent fluxes. Finally, latent and sensible heat random error estimations are computed to give information about the measurement system and turbulence transport deficiencies.  相似文献

Progress in the Energy Closure of Eddy Covariance Systems   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
The sum of turbulent fluxes measured by the eddy-covariance method is often 10%~30% lower than available energy (i.e., the net radiation minus the ground heat flux). This systematic bias in the EC method is called the "EC energy closure problem" and has been one of the biggest challenges in micrometeorology. In the past decades, lots of studies have focused on this problem and have found extensive knowledge about it. In this paper, we introduced the reasons to the EC energy closure problem and systematically summarized the understandings on this problem with a discussion regarding the merits and limitations of possible correction methods. Compared with previous overview studies, our study focused on the methods and progresses on the EC energy closure problem using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES). The existing problem, e.g., the lack of high quality and high spatial density of "surface true fluxes" observations (e.g., matric observations), the failure of fully emulating the EC using the LES and how to mechanistically understand that large eddies affect turbulence structures and lead to non-closure problem, hinder the further understanding of the EC energy closure problem. Thus, in the future, focus should be put on the mechanistic understanding of how large eddies affect the non-closure problem and some dense field observations to obtain the high quality "surface true fluxes".  相似文献

为研究沉水植被对水流结构的影响,以苦草为对象,利用实验室水槽实验研究了含淹没水生植被水流时均流速、雷诺应力及紊动能的垂向分布特征。受苦草冠层的影响,时均流速在冠顶以上呈对数分布,且随着流量的增加,冠层倾伏高度降低,对数剖面愈加明显;冠层内部,由于冠层阻流面积在垂向分布上的差异,冠层内时均流速出现逆梯度分布,且在床面附近出现局部流速最大值。雷诺应力在冠顶附近达到最大值,并向水面与床底方向逐渐减小;受逆流速梯度的影响,冠层内部雷诺应力出现负值以及局部最大值。雷诺应力产生的剪切紊动使得紊动能在冠顶处最大,并向水面与床底进行垂向传输;受紊动传输距离的限制,冠层底部以叶片后产生的尾流紊动为主,紊动能较小。  相似文献

The characteristic features of the marine boundary layer (MBL) over the Bay of Bengal during the southwest monsoon and the factors influencing it are investigated. The Bay of Bengal and Monsoon Experiment (BOBMEX) carried out during July–August 1999 is the first observational experiment under the Indian Climate Research Programme (ICRP). A very high-resolution data in the vertical was obtained during this experiment, which was used to study the MBL characteristics off the east coast of India in the north and south Bay of Bengal. Spells of active and suppressed convection over the Bay were observed, of which, three representative convective episodes were considered for the study. For this purpose a one-dimensional multi-level PBL model with a TKE-ε closure scheme was used. The soundings, viz., the vertical profiles of temperature, humidity, zonal and meridional component of wind, obtained onboard ORV Sagar Kanya and from coastal stations along the east coast are used for the study. The temporal evolution of turbulent kinetic energy, marine boundary layer height (MBLH), sensible and latent heat fluxes and drag coefficient of momentum are simulated for different epochs of monsoon and monsoon depressions during BOBMEX-99.The model also generates the vertical profiles of potential temperature, specific humidity, zonal and meridional wind. These simulated values compared reasonably well with the observations available from BOBMEX.  相似文献

近地层能量闭合问题,即测量到的感热和潜热通量之和一般总小于近地层可利用能量(净辐射与土壤热通量之差),是近20年来困扰地气相互作用实验研究的主要难点之一。对国内外有关研究现状做了综述,与解决此问题日益迫切的要求相适应,问题的实质及解决途径近年来已逐渐明朗。"涡动相关方法"应用在复杂的大气湍流通量观测中的局限,特别是对低频较大尺度湍流通量的低估,仍是关键所在。在理论分析的基础上,结合2008年部分"黑河综合实验"资料对有关计算结果做了具体介绍。以阿柔站6天连续资料为例,仔细计算土壤浅层热储存,在涡动相关资料再处理中加上高低频损失修正等,再参考该站大口径闪烁仪(LAS)观测对感热通量的提高,能量闭合率可达到99%,当然这只是个例。许多复杂情况下,较大尺度的涡旋或湍流有组织结构(TOS)会有更明显影响。近地层能量闭合问题的根本解决必须考虑后者的贡献,提高通量观测的时空代表性。  相似文献

Two-dimensional experiments investigating sediment transport and turbulence structure in sustained turbidity currents that cross breaks in slope are presented as analogue illustrations for natural flows. The results suggest that in natural flows, turbulence generation at slope breaks may account for increased sand transport into basins and that the formation of a hydraulic jump may not be necessary to explain features such as the occurrence of submarine plunge pools and the deposition of coarser-grained beds in the bottomsets of Gilbert-type fan deltas. Experimental flows were generated on 0°, 3°, 6° and 9° slopes of equal length which terminated abruptly on a horizontal bed. Two-component velocities were measured on the slope, at the slope break and downstream of the slope break. Flows were depositional and non-uniform, visibly slowing and thickening with distance downstream. One-dimensional continuous wavelet transforms of velocity time series were used to produce time-period variance maps. Peaks in variance were tested against a background red-noise spectrum at the 95% level; a significant period banding occurs in the cross-wavelet transform at the slope break, attributed to increased formation of coherent flow structures (Kelvin–Helmholtz billows). Variance becomes distributed at progressively longer periods and the shape of the bed-normal-velocity spectral energy distribution changes with distance downstream. This is attributed to a shift towards larger turbulent structures caused by wake stretching. Mean velocity, Reynolds shear stress and turbulent kinetic energy profiles illustrate the mean distribution of turbulence through the currents. A turbulent kinetic energy transfer balance shows that flow non-uniformity arises through the transfer of mean streamwise slowing to mean bed-normal motion through the action of Reynolds normal stresses. Net turbulence production through the action of normal stresses is achieved on steeper slopes as turbulence dissipation due to mean bed-normal motion is limited. At the slope break, an imbalance between the production and dissipation of turbulence occurs because of the contrasting nature of the wall and free-shear boundaries at the bottom and top of the flows, respectively. A rapid reduction in mean streamwise velocity predominately affects the base of the flows and steeper proximal slope flows have to slow more at the break in slope. The increased turbulent kinetic energy, limited bed-normal motion and strong mixing imposed by steep proximal slopes means rapid slowing enhances turbulence production at the break in slope by focusing energy into coherent flow structures at a characteristic period. Thus, mean streamwise slowing is transferred into turbulence production at the slope break that causes increased transport of sediment and a decrease in deposit mass downstream of the slope break. The internal effects of flow non-uniformity therefore can be separated from the external influence of the slope break.  相似文献

A two‐dimensional numerical model is used to describe the flow structure of turbidity currents in a vertical plane. To test the accuracy of the model, it is applied to historical flows in Bute Inlet and the Grand Banks flow. The two‐dimensional spatial and temporal distributions of velocity and sediment concentration and non‐dimensionalized vertical profiles of velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and sediment concentration are discussed for several simple computational currents. The flows show a clear interaction between velocity, turbulence and sediment distribution. The results of the numerical tests show that flows with fine‐grained sediment have low vertical and high horizontal gradients of velocity and sediment concentration, show little increase in flow thickness and decelerate slowly. Steadiness and uniformity in these flows are comparable for velocity and concentration. In contrast, flows with coarse‐grained sediment have high vertical and low horizontal velocity gradients and high horizontal concentration gradients. These flows grow considerably in thickness and decelerate rapidly. Steadiness and uniformity in flows with coarse‐grained sediment are different for velocity and concentration. The results show the influence of spatial and temporal flow structure on flow duration and sediment transport.  相似文献

运用k-ε湍流模型,建立静止环境中平面负浮力倾斜射流的二维数学模型,采用D.M.Shahrabani和J.D.Ditmars的试验资料进行检验,并且对这类流动进行了数值预报。在此基础上,提出了将射流影响区域划分成为三个区的概念,即:射流区、回流区和水平扩展区,也给出了射流区和水平扩展区及射流区内部分区的界限。给出了收缩断面的位置及该断面物理量的分布,为远区特性计算给出了定解条件。  相似文献

The fast and slow response data (8 Hz and 1 Hz respectively), obtained from the MONTBLEX-90 programme, are analysed for computing various surface layer parameters and the fluxes of sensible heat and momentum. In the present paper these fluxes, the Monin-Obukhov length scale (L), the turbulent kinetic energy (TKE), and the intensity of turbulence (σw) over Varanasi have been computed during different phases of monsoon such as dry, weak, moderate and active. 为研究弯道水流现象并且拓展格子玻尔兹曼(Lattice Boltzmann Method,LBM)在水利工程领域的应用,建立了弯道水流的三维多松弛LBM演进模型,其中包括水流自由表面模拟、弯曲固壁边界处理以及紊流模型耦合求解等关键技术。应用该模型模拟研究了不同流量下U型弯道的水流状态,得到了水位、最大水深平均流速以及紊动能等参数的分布规律。分析和实践表明,该模型能较好地模拟三维弯道水流现象。  相似文献

The complete thermodynamically consistent turbulent closure models of isochoric and isothermal dry granular dense flows with incompressible grains and weak turbulent intensity are established on the basis of a linearized theory with respect to the granular coldness for the dynamic responses of the closure conditions. The models are applied to study a gravity-driven stationary turbulent flow down an inclined moving plane, and the numerical simulations are compared with the experimental outcomes. It shows that while the mean velocity decreases monotonically from its boundary value on the moving plane toward the free surface, the mean porosity and granular coldness display more “exponential-like” increasing/decreasing tendencies. Of particular interest is that the granular coldness evolves from its maximum value on the moving plane toward its minimum value on the free surface, leading to the turbulent dissipation evolving in a similar manner, while the turbulent kinetic energy demonstrate a reverse tendency. The obtained results show good agreements to the experimental outcomes and are similar to the characteristics of conventional Newtonian fluids in turbulent shear flows.  相似文献

Previous research suggests that the turbulence-driven suspension process in sand-bed channels is dominated by intermittent, energetic eddies with length scales of the order of channel depth. Because of the scarcity of data on the turbulent suspension process in alluvial channels, the possible variability in suspension intermittency and turbulent frequency content due to contrasts in flow depth, velocity or bedforms remains unclear however. The present study analyses eddy correlation suspension signals from seven deployments in varied flow conditions around a sandy meander bend. Deployment depths at near-bankfull flow stages varied from 2 to 5.5 m, velocities at 0.75–1 m height from 0.6 to 0.9 m s?1 and local mean suspended sand concentrations ranged from 30 to 150 mg L?1 in the intermittence and spectral content of sand suspension between the various deployments are analysed and results are compared with previously published findings. Study data suggest that the dominant eddy sizes involved in sediment mixing across the sensor level are consistently of the order of 1–5 times flow depth and lie within the ‘energy-bearing’ turbulent range. When sand suspension is analysed in the time domain in the various deployments, energetic, burst-like suspension events occupying only 1-5% of the record duration account for 20-90% of the suspension work. The degree of intermittence in the suspension process was observed to increase in deeper flows, where mixing events contributing extreme vertical sediment fluxes appear to be relatively more frequent.  相似文献

基于RNG方法的κ-ε湍流模型,运用混合有限分析算法对静止环境中圆形负浮力射流进行数值模拟。从射流的最大入侵高度、流速矢量图、温度等值线、湍动能等值线、横断面上的流速和温度分布以及轴线上温度变化等方面与有效的试验资料进行了较为全面的对比验证。两者的良好吻合表明,基于RNG方法的紊流模型和混合有限分析法的结合能较好地模拟变密度流动。  相似文献

湍流运动是大气最基本的运动特征,是大气能量物质交换的主要方式。利用玛曲气候与环境综合观测研究站2006年12月至2007年1月的湍流观测资料,分析了湍流方差特征、湍流动能及湍流强度等湍流统计特征,结果表明:无量纲化的风速脉动σu/u*,σv/u*,σw/u*与稳定度z/L符合1/3次方规律;大气处于中性层结时,在近中性条件下,无量纲化风速方差σu/u*,σv/u*,σw/u*分别趋于常数A=3.42,B=3.34,C=1.02;无因次化温度脉动方差σT/|T*|和湿度脉动方差σq/|q*|与稳定度z/L的变化都比较离散,基本上不能拟合出-1/3次方规律。湍流动能随风速增大而增大,白天比夜间明显,相比之下,夜间湍流动能较小,且随风速的增大比较缓慢;湍流动能随稳定的变化是非常明显的,在稳定度近中性时湍流动能取得最大值。湍流强度Iu,Iv,Iw随风速的增大而减小,当风速在0 m/s5 m/s时,湍流强度变化很小。  相似文献

以N-S方程和k-ε湍流模型为基础,针对水温和盐度分层流的流动特性,考虑了浮力对紊动的影响,建立了温度和盐度分层流的k-ε模型,对同时存在温度和盐度梯度的一类密度分层流进行了数值模拟计算,其中紊动平均量控制方程中的紊动项是由k-ε紊流模型计算,给出了速度、温度和盐度的分布。计算结果正确地反映了分层及紊动特征,与实测结果吻合较好。  相似文献

通过水槽实验对紊动水体复氧规律进行了研究.将氧通量理论应用于紊动水体复氧过程的研究,得到了紊动水体表面传质系数.数值模拟研究了实验流场分布和紊动特性,得出了紊动水体表面传质系数与流速和紊动动能的关系式.不同工况的实验资料验证表明了紊动复氧理论的合理性和可靠性.  相似文献

波流边界层水动力模拟对研究波流相互作用和泥沙运动具有重要的理论意义和实践价值。开发了波流边界层1DV垂向一维水动力数值模型,可用于模拟漩涡沙波床面和平底床面水动力特征。模型的构建基于边界层控制方程,平底床面采用k-ε模型,沙波床面采用双层模型,提出了漩涡层和紊动扩散层交界面紊动动能和紊动耗散率表达式。试验资料验证表明,模型较好地模拟了波浪-水流-床面共同作用下的边界层水动力特征,包括波周期内不同相位流速分布、紊动动能、剪切应力等以及波致时均流速分布和波流相互作用下的时均流速分布等。根据所建模型,讨论了不同床面和波流组合条件下的水动力特征。该模型可为研究波流边界层内水动力特征提供工具。  相似文献
