Numerical simulations are carried out for wave action on a submerged horizontal circular cylinder by means of a viscous fluid model, and it is focused on the examination of the discrepancies between the viscous fluid results and the potential flow solutions. It is found that the lift force resulted from rotational flow on the circular cylinder is always in anti-phase with the inertia force and induces the discrepancies between the results. The influence factors on the magnitude of the lift force, especially the correlation between the stagnation-point position and the wave amplitude, and the effect of the vortex shedding are investigated by further examination on the flow fields around the cylinder. The viscous numerical calculations at different wave frequencies showed that the wave frequency has also significant influence on the wave forces. Under higher frequency and larger amplitude wave action, vortex shedding from the circular cylinder will appear and influence the wave forces on the cylinder substantially.  相似文献

The paper deals with the linearized exciting wave forces and hydrodynamic coefficients of a toroidal body floating in water of finite depth. For the solution of the diffraction and the radiation problems the flow field around the body is subdivided into ring-shaped fluid regions, in each of which axisymmetric eigenfunction expansions for the velocity potential is made. By implementing Galerkin's method the various potential solutions are matched and numerical results concerning the exciting wave forces and the hydrodynamic coefficients in all modes of motion are obtained.  相似文献

The two-dimensional problem of wave transformation by, and motions of, moored floating objects is solved numerically as a boundary value problem by direct use of Green's identity formula for a potential function. The cross-sectional shape of the floating object, the bottom configuration and the mooring arrangements may be all arbitrary. For a given incident wave, the three modes of body motion, the wave system and mooring forces are all solved at the same time. A laboratory experiment is conducted to verify the theory. Generally good agreements between the theory and experiments are obtained as long as the viscous damping due to flow separation is small. A numerical experiment indicates that a conventional sluck mooring is to worsen the wave attenuation by a floating breakwater and that a properly arranged elastic mooring can considerably improve the wave attenuation by a floating breakwater.  相似文献

筒型基础防波堤是一种新型港口海岸工程结构,其基础上部是由连续排列的圆筒构成的直立防浪墙.采用粘性流数值模型,研究连续圆筒防波堤上波浪力竖向分布、水平(沿圆筒环向)分布和波浪力合力特性,并对粘性流数值模型计算的平面直墙波浪力与海港水文规范方法计算结果;粘性流数值模型计算的连续圆筒墙面波浪力与平面直墙波浪力;无限长连续圆筒墙面波浪力与有限长连续圆筒墙面波浪力进行比较分析.针对所选工程算例,建议按<海港水文规范>中平面直墙波浪力计算方法确定连续圆筒防波堤上的波浪力时,波峰时考虑0.90左右的折减系数,波谷时考虑0.95左右的折减系数.  相似文献

By integration of the second-order fluid pressure over the instantaneous wetted surface, the generalized first- and second-order fluid forces used in nonlinear hydroelastic analysis are obtained. The expressions for coefficients of the generalized first- and second-order hydrodynamic forces in irregular waves are also given. The coefficients of the restoring forces of a mooring system acting on a flexible floating body are presented. The linear and nonlinear three-dimensional hydroelastic equations of motion of a moored floating body in frequency domain are established. These equations include the second-order forces, induced by the rigid body rotations of large amplitudes in high waves, the variation of the instantaneous wetted surface and the coupling of the first order wave potentials. The first-order and second-order principal coordinates of the hydrelastic vibration of a moored floating body are calculated. The frequency characteristics of the principal coordinates are discussed. The numerical results indicate that the rigid resonance and the coupling resonance of a moored floating body can occur in low frequency domain while the flexible resonance can occur in high frequency domain. The hydroelastic responses of a moored box-type barge are also given in this paper. The effects of the second-order forces on the modes are investigated in detail.  相似文献

针对波浪与带有窄缝多箱体结构作用产生的流体共振问题,建立了基于域内源造波技术的二维非线性时域数值波浪水槽模型,其中自由水面满足完全非线性运动学和动力学边界条件,窄缝内流体引入人工阻尼来等效由于涡旋运动和流动分离引起的黏性耗散,计算域边界采用高阶边界元进行离散。通过模拟三箱体间两窄缝内相对波高变化,并与已发表的数值与实验结果对比,验证了本模型的准确性。同时通过大量的数值计算,分析了箱体数量对窄缝内水体共振频率、共振波高以及对结构反射波高和透射波高的影响。  相似文献

A design of semi-submersible platform is mainly based on the extreme response analysis due to the forces experienced by the components during lifetime. The external loads can induce the extreme air gap response and potential deck impact to the semi-submersible platform. It is important to predict air gap response of platforms accurately in order to check the strength of local structures which withstand the wave slamming due to negative air gap. The wind load cannot be simulated easily by model test in towing tank whereas it can be simulated accurately in wind tunnel test. Furthermore, full scale simulation of the mooring system in model test is still a tuff work especially the stiffness of the mooring system. Owing to the above mentioned problem, the model test results are not accurate enough for air gap evaluation. The aim of this paper is to present sensitivity analysis results of air gap motion with respect to the mooring system and wind load for the design of semi-submersible platform. Though the model test results are not suitable for the direct evaluation of air gap, they can be used as a good basis for tuning the radiation damping and viscous drag in numerical simulation. In the presented design example, a numerical model is tuned and validated by ANSYS AQWA based on the model test results with a simple 4 line symmetrical horizontal soft mooring system. According to the tuned numerical model, sensitivity analysis studies of air gap motion with respect to the mooring system and wind load are performed in time domain. Three mooring systems and five simulation cases about the presented platform are simulated based on the results of wind tunnel tests and sea-keeping tests. The sensitivity analysis results are valuable for the floating platform design.  相似文献

Perforated plates, relevant for several marine applications, are experimentally and numerically investigated. The numerical investigations are performed using a presently developed Navier–Stokes solver. Several comparison and sensitivity studies are presented, in order to validate and verify the solver. Forced heave experiments are performed on two perforated plates with perforation ratios 19% and 28%. Amplitude-dependent added mass and damping coefficients are presented. Good agreement is obtained between the solver and the present experiments. Consistent with existing data, the results show that the hydrodynamic coefficients of perforated plates are highly amplitude dependent. The damping force is found to dominate over added mass force. The damping force dominance increases with increasing perforation ratio. It is highlighted that plate-end flow separation has an important effect on the damping coefficient. The developed numerical solver is two-dimensional, but is found to yield reasonable estimates of hydrodynamic force coefficients when compared with a previous three-dimensional experimental investigation. This could indicate that three-dimensional effects are not dominant for the hydrodynamic forces of perforated plates, and that a two-dimensional viscous flow solver could have relevance as a tool for estimating hydrodynamic forces on three-dimensional perforated structures.  相似文献

The coupled system of two side-by-side fixed and/or floating bodies interacting with a large amplitude nonlinear wave is studied using a direct time domain solution method. The numerical model is based on a three-dimensional mixed Eulerian–Lagrangian (MEL) method under certain simplifying approximations permitting Rankine panel scheme to be implemented over a time-invariant boundary surface to solve the boundary value problem for the unknown velocity potentials. A 4th order Adams–Bashforth–Moulton scheme is used for time marching of rigid-body motion histories of the individual bodies and evolution of the free-surface including the gap region in which large resonant fluid motions occur. A systematic study has been carried out to evaluate the performance of the developed time domain method in simulating the forces and motions as well as the fluid motion in the gap region for the two body system under various arrangements and in different wave-headings. At first, the computed numerical results have been validated and verified with computational and experimental results available in literature for standard geometries such as vertical truncated cylinders and rectangular boxes. Secondly, effectiveness of the damping lid model which is introduced to suppress wave resonance in the gap region is investigated including its influence on maximum sway forces on fixed and floating rectangular barges in side-by-side configurations. Thirdly, comparative studies on absolute and relative motion response for two cases (two rectangular barges, and a FLNG-FPSO + shuttle tanker) in side-by-side arrangement are detailed to bring out the importance of nonlinearities arising due to steep nonlinear incident waves. Finally, coupled motions of the two-body system of an FPSO and a shuttle tanker floating in side-by-side configuration in a steep nonlinear wave field are studied in which the two bodies are connected through hawsers, and also the FPSO is moored to the ground. A three-dimensional time-domain potential flow model is developed and applied to simulate the wave resonance in a gap between two side-by-side rectangular barges. A fourth-order predict-correct method is implemented to update free surface boundary conditions. The response of an up-wave barge is predicted by solving the motion equation with the Newmark-β method. Following the validation of the developed numerical model for wave radiation and diffraction around two side-by-side barges, the influence of up-wave barge motion on the gap surfaceresonance is investigated in two different locations of the up-wave barge relative to the back-wave barge at various frequencies. The results reveal that the freely floating up-wave barge significantly influences the resonance frequency and the resonance wave amplitude. Simultaneously, the up-wave barge located in the middle of the back-wave barge leads to a reduction in the resonance wave amplitude and motion response when compared with other configurations.  相似文献

Wave-force coefficients of horizontal circular cylinders inclined with respect to the incoming waves, are studied numerically under conditions when the effects of flow separation are insignificant. The mathematical model is set in terms of a boundary-value problem for the velocity potential of the wave, which is formulated under the assumption of the linear diffraction theory, and solved numerically by the boundary element method. The numerical calculations are performed in the vertical plane, assuming uniform water depths in the direction along the axis of the cylinder. A first-order correction to the pressures is introduced to take account of the asymmetry of the velocity field around the cylinder when it is close to the plane bed. The correction procedure is found to be highly effective in computing the transverse forces for small gap ratios. The numerical results show that irrespective of the values of the gap ratio, the in-line forces are always sensitive to the wave directionality. The transverse forces, however, show sensitivity only for the smaller gap ratios. It is also shown that by accounting for the wave directionality effects in the wave kinematics only, the forces could be estimated to a certain extent by using the hydrodynamic force coefficients of inertia and lift corresponding to the normal waves.  相似文献

依据三类内孤立波理论KdV、eK dV和MCC的适用性条件,采用Navier-Stokes方程为流场控制方程,以内孤立波诱导上下层深度平均水平速度作为入口边界条件,建立了两层流体中内孤立波对张力腿平台强非线性作用的数值模拟方法。结果表明,数值模拟所得内孤立波波形及其振幅与相应理论和实验结果一致,并且在内孤立波作用下张力腿平台水平力、垂向力及力矩数值模拟结果与实验结果吻合。研究同时表明,张力腿平台内孤立波载荷由波浪压差力、粘性压差力和摩擦力构成,其中摩擦力很小,可以忽略;水平力的主要成分为波浪压差力和粘性压差力,粘性压差力与波浪压差力相比较小却不可忽略,流体粘性的影响较小;垂向力中粘性压差力很小,流体粘性影响可以忽略。  相似文献

Nonlinear hydrodynamics of a twin rectangular hull under heave oscillation is analyzed using numerical methods. Two-dimensional nonlinear time-domain solutions to both inviscid and viscous problems are obtained and the results are compared with linear, inviscid frequency-domain results obtained in [26] to quantify nonlinear and viscous effects. Finite-difference methods based on boundary-fitted coordinates are used for solving the governing equations in the time domain [2]. A primitive-variables based projection method [6] is used for the viscous analysis and a mixed Eulerian–Lagrangian formulation [11] for inviscid analysis. The algorithms are validated and the order of accuracy determined by comparing the results obtained from the present algorithm with the experimental results of Vugt [22] for a heaving rectangle in the free surface. The present study on the twin-hull hydrodynamics shows that at large and non-resonant regular frequencies, and small amplitude of body oscillation, the fluid viscosity does not significantly affect the wave motion and the radiation forces. At low frequencies however the viscosity effect is found to be significant even for small amplitude of body oscillation. In particular, the hydrodynamic force obtained from the nonlinear viscous analysis is found to be closer to the linear inviscid force than the nonlinear inviscid force to the linear inviscid force, the reason for which is attributed to the wave dampening effect of viscosity. Since the wave lengths generated at smaller frequencies of oscillation are longer and therefore the waves could have a more significant effect on the dynamic pressure on the bottom of the hulls which contribute to the heave force, the correlation between the heave force and the wave elevation is found to be larger at smaller frequencies. Because of nonlinearity, the wave radiation and wave damping force remained nonzero even at and around the resonant frequencies – with the resonant frequencies as determined in [26] using linear potential flow theory. As to be expected, the nonlinear effect on the wave force is found to be significant at all frequencies for large amplitude of oscillation compared to the hull draft. The effect of viscosity on the force, by flow separation, is also found to be significant for large amplitude of body oscillation.  相似文献

Numerical simulations on focused wave propagation are carried out by using three types of numerical models,including the linear potential flow, the nonlinear potential flow and the viscous fluid flow models. The wave-wave interaction of the focused wave group with different frequency bands and input wave amplitudes is examined, by which the influence of free surface nonlinearity and fluid viscosity on the related phenomenon of focused wave is investigated. The significant influence of free surface nonlinearity on the characteristics of focused wave can be observed, including the increased focused wave crest, delayed focused time and downstream shift of focused position with the increase of input amplitude. It can plot the evident difference between the results of the nonlinear potential flow and linear potential flow models. However, only a little discrepancy between the nonlinear potential flow and viscous fluid flow models can be observed, implying the insignificant effect of fluid viscosity on focused wave behavior. Therefore, the nonlinear potential flow model is recommended for simulating the non-breaking focused wave problem in this study.  相似文献

在线性化势流理论范围内求解方箱-水平板浮式防波堤的波浪绕射和辐射问题,从时域角度分析了浮式防波堤的水动力特性.采用格林函数法将速度势定解问题的控制微分方程变换成边界上的积分方程进行数值求解,浮式防波堤的运动方程采用四阶Runge-Kutta方法求解.对不同层数水平板的浮式防波堤的波浪透射系数、运动响应和锚链受力进行了计算分析,结果表明方箱相对宽度对方箱-水平板浮式防波堤的波浪透射作用有重要的影响,透射系数随着方箱相对宽度的增加而减小.对于方箱加二层水平板的浮式防波堤,在本研究的计算条件下,当方箱相对宽度从0.110增加至0.295时,透射系数从0.88减小至0.30.水平板有利于增加浮式防波堤对波浪的衰减作用,但随着水平板层数从0增加至2,这种波浪衰减作用增加的程度趋弱.方箱-水平板的浮式防波堤的运动量小于单一方箱防波堤的运动量.与此对应,方箱-水平板防波堤的锚链受力小于单一方箱防波堤的锚链受力.  相似文献

Tremendous economic loss and environmental damages are caused by oil-spilling accidents in sea. Accurate prediction of the underwater spreading and surface drifting of oil spills is important for the emergency response. In the present study, numerical investigation on the underwater spread and surface drift of oil spilled from a submarine pipeline under the combined action of wave and current was carried out to examine the effects of physical ocean environment, leaking flux and spilled oil density and viscosity. Reynolds-Averaged-Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, realizable k-ε turbulence model and volume of fluid (VOF) model are employed to describe the multiphase flow, and velocity-boundary wave-making technique combined with the sponge layer damping absorber technique realizes the numerical wave flume. Oil spill experiments were conducted to validate the numerical model. The calculation results indicate that compared with the environmental conditions of still water, only current and only wave, a larger scope of underwater spreading and relatively slower rising rate and relatively faster drifting rate of oil droplets are observed under the combined action of wave and current. The leaking flux affects the floating time and dispersion concentration, while the ocean environment affects the horizontal migration and surface drifting. Under the specific conditions of present work, oil density has obvious effect on the underwater spread but limited effect on the surface drifting, while oil viscosity has little effect on both the two processes.  相似文献

The hydrodynamics of side-by-side barges are much more complex than those of a single barge in waves because of wave shielding, viscous effects and water resonance in the gap. In the present study, hydrodynamic coefficients in the frequency domain were calculated for both the system of multiple bodies and the isolated body using both low-order and higher-order boundary-element methods with different element numbers. In these calculations, the damping-lid method was used to modify the free-surface boundary conditions in the gap and to make the hydrodynamic results more reasonable. Then far-field, mid-field and near-field methods were used to calculate wave-drift forces for both the multi-body system and the isolated body. The results show that the higher-order method has faster convergence speed than the low-order method for the multi-body case. Comparison of different methods of computing drift force showed that mid-field and far-field methods have better convergence than the near-field method. In addition, corresponding model tests were performed in the Deepwater Offshore Basin at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Comparison between numerical and experimental results showed good agreement.  相似文献

This paper investigates the hydrodynamic performance of a cylindrical-dual or rectangular-single pontoon floating breakwater using the numerical method and experimental study. The numerical simulation work is based on the multi-physics computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code and an innovative full-structured dynamic grid method applied to update the three-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) rigid structure motions. As a time-marching scheme, the trapezoid analogue integral method is used to update the time integration combined with remeshing at each time step. The application of full-structured mesh elements can prevent grids distortion or deformation caused by large-scale movement and improve the stability of calculation. In movable regions, each moving zone is specified with particular motion modes (sway, heave and roll). A series of experimental studies are carried out to validate the performance of the floating body and verify the accuracy of the proposed numerical model. The results are systematically assessed in terms of wave coefficients, mooring line forces, velocity streamlines and the 3-DOF motions of the floating breakwater. When compared with the wave coefficient solutions, excellent agreements are achieved between the computed and experimental data, except in the vicinity of resonant frequency. The velocity streamlines and wave profile movement in the fluid field can also be reproduced using this numerical model.  相似文献

The purpose of this research work is to study the effect of specific surface s, the fluid–solid contact surface per volume unit, on the wave energy dissipation by porous structures consisting in dense arrays of emergent vertical cylinders. Experiments have been carried out in a 10 m long wave flume. Three cylinder diameters D are considered in order to study the effects of the specific surface while keeping the porosity constant. In a first series, the length of the porous zone is kept constant for the three cylinder diameters tested. The measurements, which include various wave steepness conditions, demonstrate the role of specific surface s on both wave attenuation and interference processes. The larger the specific surface is, the stronger the wave damping is. Damping is found to be almost proportional to 1/D when laminar, turbulent and inertial effects are of same order. Results are compared to numerical calculations based on either a constant rate of wave damping within the porous medium per unit wavelength or a quadratic damping developed using a force expression based on the work of [26]. This latter model, calibrated with drag and inertia coefficients, shows a good agreement with measurements. In a second series, both porous length and water depth are kept proportional to the cylinder diameter for the three diameters. Scale effects are then discussed and underline the importance of the flow regime within the porous medium.  相似文献
