| Abstract: | Analyses of data for the crustal deformation before and after the Tangshan earthquake indicate an evolution of the crustal deformation. Three signs may have emerged from the process of the preparation of a strong shock:1. rapidly increasing regional stress field;2. occurrence of intensively active structures and change of the regional stress field and;3. formation of concentrated deformation points on the seismogenic structures.
