At the beginning of 2008，the low-temperature freezing rain and snow weather process with the longest low temperature duration, the biggest freeze scope, and the strongest intensity in meteorological records since 1956 occurred in Northwestern Hunan. Rarely serious freezing disaster caused significant losses to citrus production as one of the pillar industries.This article from the perspective of the weather, weather situation of the cold rain was analyzed, while a detailed assessment of the damage on citrus fruits caused by cold rain and snow, citrus sales and storage was carried out.It aimed at developing a scientific basis on citrus production, disaster recovery and disaster prevention in Northwestern Hunan.
