Abstract: In order to meet the demand of the Southwest Regional Meteorological Center numerical model for high performance computing resources，Sichuan Provincial Meteorological Bureau has constructed IBM high performance computer system．This system provides adequate and reliable high performance computing and storage resources for the business operation and development of the Southwest Regional Center numerical prediction system．IBM high performance computer system has greatly enhanced the computing capacity and data sharing ability of other provinces in Southwest Regional Meteorological Center．This paper first introduces the system structure and management method，and then the system expansion process is analyzed in detail．Finally，this paper will introduce the application of business mode．
