The paper discussed the cognition of modern hydrology,and described the main practice including construction of hydrologic network,information collecting and sharing for the harmonious development between human being and water environment in Guangdong Province.After the practice of 20 years,a serving system has been created for the harmony between human being and water environment,and a primary achievement has been succeeded.This paper also made prospects for the research direction and methods of modern hydrology in the future.
