Abstract:The East Kunlun metallogenic belt is located in the western section of the central orogenic belt in China, which goes through Qinghai and Xinjiang provinces. It is not only the important metallogenic zone but also an important nonferrous metal base in China. This area underwent several intensive tectonic and magmatic activities and has favorable metallogenic conditions. Several large or medium scale ore deposits were discovered, which are enriched inW, Sn Au, Fe, Cu Ni, Pb and Zn. The main deposit types are magmatic melting type Cu Ni sulphate deposit, orogenic type Au deposits, greisen skarn hydrothermal Sn deposit, and skarn porphry type Fe- Cu- Pb polymetallic ore deposits. On the basis of comprehensive analysis of previous studies, this study classifies metallogenic lineage for the East Kunlun W- Sn- Au- Ni metallogenic belt and conducts the assessment of potential for mineral resources. Finally, four prospective areas and for average areas were defined, providing the support for the further prospecting.
